THE LATEST ON DiPIETRO
Logan writes Saturday a possibility

Greg Logan just blog-posted his take on Rick DiPietro’s schedule to return. I believe Greg’s pretty bang-on, although you have to wonder about the logic – not Logan’s, but possibly the Islanders’ – that DiPietro could play half a game in Boston after just one or two days of practice this week at Iceworks. For those of you keeping score at home, Rick has not practiced with the team yet. It is Tuesday.

If DiPietro is scheduled to start against the Panthers on Monday, I’m going down to Florida to provide regular updates. As I have mentioned, I don’t plan on being a regular on Islanders road trips during the first half because I prefer to use the time providing some different perspectives, including coverage from Bridgeport. But DiPietro is Story No. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 with this franchise right now. If DiPietro plays Monday, I’ll be there.

What do you think? Bring it on in Comments.

Being a former goaltender, I would put DP in the middle of the net and have a few players just shoot pucks at him during practice. Nothing hard of course, but let him get his timing back, and only have him play that half a game in Boston. Then decide if he’s well enough to play against Florida. You don’t want him experiencing a lot of shots during that first half against Boston. Against Florida, again, depends on how many shots DP will face in the beginning.

I hope that Rick possibly playing at the end of preseason is not a sign of the organization rushing him, but that him NOT playing so far is instead a sign of the organization exhibiting caution.

who cares ???? We suck regardless plus dp will be hurt by all star break , the guy has done nothing so overrated…wake me up when he wins a playoff series or a big game in march or april …Note-Dubie led us to the playoffs in 2007 not DP.

Most over rated player in ny
DP has not been as good as freaking Tommy Salo in his career- at least Salo won a gold medal and a few playoff series and before you keep kissing his but Botta at least be a man and explain why all the hype for this Goalie that HAS DONE NOTHING!!!!!!!
