BAILEY FLYING TO FLORIDA
First-rounder could play vs. Panthers on Monday

by admin on October 5th, 2008 at 4:50 pm

Adding to the importance of Monday’s ex game in Florida with Rick DiPietro’s return is the possibility of 2009 first round pick Josh Bailey being in the lineup.

Point Blank has learned the 19-year old Bailey will travel with the team tonight to South Florida and, if he has a good morning skate, will play against the Panthers on Monday. Bailey has missed a few days of practices and games with an abdominal hammy groin hip flexor sinus cavity shoulder back ankle flu undisclosed injury.

At the risk of making it seem like a monumental game for the youngster, a good performance Monday night could convince management to keep Bailey on the Islanders for at least nine NHL games. Worst-case scenario, life as captain of his OHL team and eventual member of Team Canada at the WJC begins earlier.

Either way, Bailey can’t really lose. Either way, Monday’s game has bonus intrigue and we’ll be there to cover it as long as the wireless works.

^ Thats their radio station, and that is all we are going to get. You can listen to them online.

As with all the other Islanders preseason games this year, MSG is not allowing any of the games to be televised or any live feeds to take place. I believe they are blocking the games from local radio, as well.

Thank you Chris TMC. At least it’s something. I appreciate the info.
