DP SCHEDULED TO PLAY MONDAY
Will re-join team for practice on Friday

On the last question of his post-game media scrum, Scott Gordon somewhat innocently volunteered that Rick DiPietro will practice with the team on Friday and is scheduled to play in Florida on Monday night against the Panthers.

This doesn’t make Monday a definite start for DiPietro, but it’s the first hard news announcement on the biggest story of training camp.

I saw DiPietro after the game tonight, and he would only comment on my decision to stop shaving. As you can tell by the accompanying photo, shaving’s always been an optional thing for The Rick - even when modeling new uniforms.

Im glad that Ricks going to get in some practice. I really hope that being out til this point has been the organization being overly cautious with him. That would be a good thing!

DP is(in my opinion)One of the best today! I just hope they make the right decisions when it comes to him playing, he shouldn’t be “questionable” they shouldn’t put him in until they can say he’s 100% and ready to go! why risk it? Otherwise we could be putting things at risk. I think they should play the back-ups, give them some ice time, we need them to improve at an NHL level the only way they’re ever gonna do that is to play, it’s not gonna happen sitting on the bench watching, don’t get me wrong you can learn from watching as well but the best way is putting them in, I’d rather have it be early in the season then midway if DP is hurt again.
