INJURY UPDATE on Chris Lee

by B.D. Gallof
The Islanders report that defenseman Chris Lee is conscious and has movement in all extremities. He has been taken to an area hospital for further observation.
George Richard and Diana Moskovitz report Lee was placed in a neck brace and placed on a backboard, then taken off the ice on a stretcher that Sunrise Fire Rescue took Lee by ambulance to Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale with one Panters doctor claiming Lee, “never lost consciousness.”
According to the writers Islander spokesman Corey Witt said Lee was conscious and had motion. Accompanying him in the ambulance were head athletic Garrett Timms and public relations member Seth Sylvan. Further details about Lee’s injury were not released and it is unclear if Lee will be released in time to make the team charter back to New York that was scheduled to leave about 11pm tonight.
Sounds much better. An issue below the scalp? I don’t trust any Islander opinion on head injuries as a rule given our vast record of misdiagnosed head trauma, but if a backup goalie who hung on too long can be GM…….might as well be a team Physician as well, unless Chris Dey has that job already
Seriously, hope Lee heals up fully. Don’t rush to play for this team going nowhere…….take your time so we can see you for years to come.
I am really happy that he is OK! I am also glad that they treated his potential injury in a serious manner… that is the way that it should be and its good to see the med staff actually going on the cautious side.
Thank you for letting us know.
Hope Chris pulls through!
was it a dirty hit??

Wow! I hope he’s ok hopefully it turns out to be minor. But Was it a clean hit or was it dirty play?
News gets better everyday!
This just in… Garth Snow refuses to confirm Miami Herald report, only saying Lee may have an issue somewhere “below the scalp.”
Get well soon, Chris.

Just spoke with a close friend of Lee. He says that he’s back on Long Island, saw another doctor there and was given the all clear.
Flex, the AP wire has now confirmed what you said here earlier:
