CB...why did I read the newsday this morning? I hadnt gone past the first page and it made me sick to my stomach. From now on I am going to try to avoid all Newsday reports and or "articles" and stick with your site or the teams website. All of Newsday is now completely Ranger faithful and I cannot read such garbage journalism I mean opinionated second grade etch-a-sketch. Thank you CB for giving us blog readers and loyal islander fans something intelligent to read everyday. Unlike the backstabbers over at Newsday that sell full page ads to the Isles everyday and then do nothing but rip the team.

IMO the best thing about this game is that JoeyMac played well. Danis played well in his last game, too. I almost feel equallyconfident with them both... which is an interesting situation. Heres my question on the goalie situation:

If Ricky winds up being Ricky and playing a crapload of games, do you think that the Isles will switch their backup goalies around? Like, give JoeyMac some regular conditioning stints in BPT and bring Danis up? I hope that the Isles learned from 06-07 that an ice cold backup can be a really harmful thing.

It wasnt a well played game. Lots of sloppy passing by both teams.

Not a lot of hitting... no fights.

MacDonald made some nice saves and kept us in the game. Defense gave up a few too many good scoring chances, luckily Mac played well.

It was nice to get a win, but nothing to get me too excited heading into the season. Only thing I feel better about is Mac should be a competent backup to DP.
