   I’m a buzzkill when it comes to this kind of thing, but whenever a sports entity uses feminine sexuality to increase its appeal, I think it devalues the more important product said sexuality is meant to prop up. If cleavage-bearing ice girls is why people go to games or come to this site, it’s an indictment of the games or the site.

   I like you, CB, and I kind of feel you’re reluctant to do this kind of thing, but come on. Does this really have anything to do with ice hockey, the Isles roster, or important ancillary NYI issues?

   IMO theres nothing wrong with having lighthearted things like this as long as they dont take away from the information he shares with us regarding the sport itself. And I dont see any evidence of that, you know?

   Plus (and maybe its because Im a woman) I just dont see the ice girls as being as “sexed up” as some people seem to. From my POV they are just figure skaters that help promote the team, often to kids! I really dont see any problem with it at all.

   hopefully there not all eye candy. those ice girls were terrible at the devils preseason game and just left the ice out there and they had to be called back and it took long. ill only aprove cuz its better then men in tights and there hot and the bfl does it . just do your work faster.

    Sorry, but most LI girls are….umm….ugh. I went to college in VA and wha wha wee wha! Those girls KNOW BEAUTY. When I was looking into Hofstra for Grad school, I was (for the most part)turned off. Something in the water, i guess.

    Nice figure (as all ice girls have) but please wear a bag over your head- or cut back on the make-up/hairspray.

    Any of you choosing to bash Chris really need to lighten up. I have been viewing this site daily and Chris has bar far the best insight on the team of any blogger I have ever seen. Providing us a look at everything the islanders have to offer is great.

    I for one am of fan of Lauren. She is the first ice girl I have seen that could be classified as a woman. Ever other girl looks like a teeny bopper. If you go visit other teams dancers/ice girls/cheerleaders, you will see what I am talking about.

    Truth be told I like I candy as much as any other guy, I only wish that there were more woman interested in filling the job!

    For the record, I don’t think anyone was bashing Chris. I think a few people, including myself, just wanted to express an opinion that was wary of including feminine sexuality in male sports.

    CB has done an amazing job thus far, and I applaud him for it. I just hope this kind of thing isn’t a consistent feature of the site because I don’t care about these girls at all and I think it denigrates and objectifies women. If that makes me PC or uptight, well then so be it.

    I was born right around there (Lindenhurst) and all I can say is that I clearly moved too soon. But yes, please lay off the makeup and hairspray - some of these ladies sadly look like the Ice Kabuki Girls.

    I agree with the post that stated we actually have an Ice Girl that is a woman. Great picture. I stand by what I emailed CB about the other night. The new Ice Girls crew needs some overspeed training. Other than that, as one other poster stated, it is better than seeing some guy in work boots out there cleaning the ice.
