NYI offering Buy 1, Get 1 for Thursday’s game
1:20 pm - The Islanders are extending a Buy One Get One ticket promotion for the game on Thursday against Dallas. The offer will be featured in ads on Wednesday, but as a PB reader you can get the jump now if you’d like to go.
Go to Ticketmaster here or get your seats at the Coliseum box office. The code is KULLEN.
UPDATE, 2:10 pm - We’re told that on TicketMaster the offer reads as 50% off. For example, you don’t buy two $60 seats for $60. Instead, the $60 seats – using the code “KULLEN” – are reduced to $30 each.
To be clear, we’re not selling tickets. Just letting our loyal readers know about a deal before anyone else.
****
Amazing to think that since the Islanders last played Saturday, the Dallas Stars will have played last night at MSG and Wednesday night at The Rock before coming to the Coliseum on Thursday. Is it okay to call the Islanders’ next game a No Excuses, gotta-get-two-points event?
We’ll be back after practice.

Am I missing something? I went to ticketmaster and used the promo code. 4 tix @ $30 plus the service fees came to $144. It wasn’t showing any discount so I didn’t place the order yet. How/when does the discount show up?
-
Could not agree with you more Chris. This is definitely a “gotta-get-two-points event”! With 3 games in 4 nights Dallas should be dragging!
-
Mike-
Sounds about right. $6/ticket in fees is around the usual bull donkey additional charge -
Cool promo, too bad Im not on the island. Even a no excuses even should be challenging for this team.
-
lets get some top talent and then everyone would be more than happy to pay full price for tickets
-
With the promo we should be looking at an announced attendence of about 9,000
-
joe rvc. we may take a shot at gabs and cammalari and some other top guys . on defence i say we go for komiserek, hal gill or jay bo. we can try but this place sucks. it isnt until we pull a pitssburg and get top picks that well be awsome. see sid the kid, jordan stall, malkin, ma fleury. we have okposo and hopefullywell get tavares and we hav dp
-
ok thats a good idea there are alot of sid crosbys and malkins out there and im sure they will end up on hempstead tpke across the street from dunkin donuts .
-
I think of it more as across the street from Hooters, actually.
-
actually taveres is better then cindy crosby soo………its called giving him a dp contract
-
Geez…. It’s that bad. One one ticket get one free. It great for the fans, but at the same time, embarrassing.
-
50% off a bunch of Isle games for American Express card holders.

Get $75 seats for $37.50.
Get $60 seats for $30.
Get $50 seats for $25. -
Tickets are expensive, nothing wrong with trying to get people to go who otherwsie may not be able to afford it. Many teams do this kind of thing, whats wrong with it?
-
Must make the season ticket holders who payed full price for seats pretty happy?
-
What’s so embarrassing about it? With the economy the way it is, it’s a great opportunity to see a good hockey game at an affordable price. The Isles have always done stuff like this, whether it was special dates advertised in the Pennysaver or student discount nights – there’s nothing wrong with it. If I wasn’t working on Thursday, I’d be taking advantage of the deal as well.
-
They do this simply because they are one of the few teams that cannot sell tickets.
-
Mike on, just so you are aware of the STH situation, I’m a STH myself and we don’t pay full price. In fact, my discount for signing on to ST’s is about 40% off the original asking price.
These promos agitate other STH and myself because the reason you sign on for ST—besides your love of the team—is you like going to a lot of games and you save big time for committing to seasons. This team does not sell out every game anymore, so seats are always available with the exception of home opener and Rangers games. So, when they offer the same type of discounts for Johnny–come–latelies, it’s insulting to the people who signed on already and they are going to ask to renew again next year.

Chris – I have a personal question for you – how are you paying the rent these days? Just curious – wondering how long you can last in this role.
