Doc, I haven't figured out why but the Isles don't seem to feel they can comment on anything that doesn't support what the league does. This has been going on for years. It amazes me how tame Snow got since he became GM.

The last place you ever want to go for NYI News is to the New York Islanders. Their website sucks. There are no relevant stories. The pre and post games reports are horrendous. The information on it is the bare basics. They don't report accurate Ht. & Wt. of their players. A bit ironic since they measure them several times per year. They will often report them on part part of their site as being one set of numbers and on another part something totally different.

I would think by this time Wang and Snow would have gotten on the phone to Bettman and Campbell and cussed them about big time and demand a review of the suspension and a face to face meeting to get to the root of the bias agains the Isls once and for all.

I would then think they would make a case to the media to bring pressure on the NHL.

That is just me.

Wouldn't it be a good faith move by the Islander's if they made some sort of announcement or press release regarding the suspension and an injury update.

Can't they see that the fans are so invested in this team? It would at least give the impression that they are concerned about the lack of adequate suspension of Mottau.

I just re-watched the Neilsen injury... and in my opinion this is my diagnosis - keep in mind of course I don't have access to MRI films or X-rays or having examined him:

So I could be over-estimating the injury.

Worst case scenario:

* Medial collateral knee sprain/tear.
* Possible fracture to the ankle (tibula/fibula)

Neilsen's skate caught in the ice after the headhunting incident and butt end to the chin, and the ankle folded underneath him - twisting it awkwardly and possibly fracturing the ankle and it put a large torque on the medial collateral ligament of the knee.

Best case scenario:

Sprain/Strain of both the knee and ankle without a significant tear of either the ankle or knee ligaments or any fractures.

Just my opinion.

If they don't think Fritz is good enough to play without being a liability, claim Wade Belak off waivers, Better player and just as tough...And he can play 2 positions.

2 games??
Can't wait to hear the rationale/justification/excuse for that one. So, what's the message the league is trying to send again about hits to the head? Forgive me...I'm confused.
Incredible

2 games is just... I don't have a word for it. Campbell has something up his but for the Isles and its really, really sad to see. I was ready to defend the coach for not sending Fitz out and recreating Slap Shot but if the league isn't going to defend the Isles maybe the Isles need to defend themselves. Sad.

yea mike ... you're right... devils were actually one of the first teams to use the "Hey song" (just google it) They used that zombie nation song last year which wasn't a fan favorite. Good for them they brought an old tradition back... its too bad the isles got rid of it and now have a rip off of the Rangers goal song

This isnt the first time we have seen this bias and it wont be the last. As long as the league has a biased a-hole arbitrarily deciding these things, this is what we are going to continue to see.
