BREAKING NEWS: JOSH BAILEY “ACTIVATED”
5:45 pm - I just received a call from Islanders communications director Seth Sylvan with some breaking news: Josh Bailey has been “activated” on the Islanders roster.
Seth could not confirm whether Bailey was playing tomorrow when the Islanders host Philadelphia at 2:00 pm. He did not have any further updates at this time.
Hey, the night is young.
UPDATE - Greg Logan has posted an excellent take on the subject, including the option the Islanders have of sending Bailey to Bridgeport on a conditioning stint. If that’s the case, Josh would have to be on a plane soon. The Sound Tigers play neutral site AHL games on Tuesday in Summerside, PEI and Wednesday in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Fantastic!!!!!! I cannot wait to see him play!
jumpin jesus on a pogo stick! the kid’s gonna play!
WOOOHOOO! At least we can get a taste of what a Bailey-Okposo line might yield ! Guess this kinda overshadow’s the previous post about him not playing this year
hey CB,
what’s your hunch on Iggulden? You think the Isles will call him up if Bailey doesn’t cut it after 9 games? (I only ask since it looks as though Comrie is going to be out for awhile)
OH Boy! This should get real interesting now!
If he plays, who should play the wings on his line? Park worked well with Okposo last year.
Bring up Igg’s or Kurtis. These guys get points every game!
Iggulden and McLean are AHL players who will not produce at this level. See Jeff Tambellini and Jason Krog.
You better stop with your negativity Steve S Doc might come after you. Don’t say anything bad about the team!
welcome to the jungle kiddo -best of luck in your first game
Steve S: Not that I’m argueing that Tambs might be a bust.. I just think people should just get off his back aa litttleee bit. Not that I’m comparing Tambs to any of the following.. But you can take a look at some guys such as St. Louis, Mike Ribiero, Pavel Datsyuk, even Daymond Langkow.. All of these players took a little longer for it to Click. They Usually got their big break around 24,25.
but in all honesty, you could be right on the money. He could be the Next Jason Krog, Jody Gage, or Brad Smyth. haha But I think people should just lay off a little bit.. Who knows, you could turn all around a week from now and never look back. H’s still young..
Tambelinni could develop into a solid second liner. He needs a little confidence and a little more weight. He might be ok.
For all we know he can develop into a all star. Playing on team such as ours it is harder to evaluate talent. He does show some skills and may find his groove(hopefully this year). I agree he could use a few more pounds and I also agree we need to be patient.
why does anyone think tambellini could develop into anything?..he has shown zip zero zilch to date…i give this guy another 20 games otherwise ship him out….and bring up comeau…jackman showed more in one game than tambellini has showed in 2 years….he should stay up and play!
You maybe right beatlebailey. I think we should give it some more time though. He hasn’t showed much but he does have some skills, but he is weak on the puck. He may find his game, then again he could be the next Krog. He needs more time in my opinion sometimes we all rush to judge. Last year you can’t even count he barely got his feet wet! Just my two cents.
Steve Tambellini will finish with more goals this season than Jeff.
Thats excellent! LOL.
I think i had more goals in my career the Jeff Tambelini
I must admit, Id really love to see Josh play!
Good luck Bailey.
Jeff Invisibellini must go!
He’s brutal and has had enough chances and has shown NOTHING!!
