NO RECALL TODAY. EXPECT FRITZ IN JERSEY.
Park between Jackman and Fritz? That’s rich

11:10 am, Iceworks - Scott Gordon’s comment yesterday that the call-up from Bridgeport for Kyle Okposo would practice with the Islanders today turned out to be untrue. The same group that practiced yesterday is on the ice as I write from my perch at Iceworks.
My take: Mitch Fritz will be on the ice at the morning skate in New Jersey on Friday.
The reasoning is that if Trevor Smith or Mike Iggulden were playing for the Islanders this weekend, they would have been here today for a full session of Go-Go Gordon. If the choice was Blake Comeau, the kid would have been here at six in the morning. If the Islanders were taking somebody off the waiver wire…no, they’re not taking anyone off the waiver wire. Just messin’ with you.
Fritz knows the system, knows his job and knows he’ll probably get 5-7 minutes. If Richard Park centers Fritz and Tim Jackman tomorrow, I expect Rich to make at least one end-to-end rush, untouched.
I’m also gonna go out on a limb and predict you’ll have some reaction. Comments.

I’m hoping it’s someone other than Fritz since I don’t see Gordon getting away from rolling 4 lines with back to back games on the docket.
jackman and fritz on the same line wow..can fritz keep up??
no excuse for calling up fritz and not a real hockey player from bp. jackman has looked very good in his role and has proven he can drop the gloves when needed.
I would love to see Trevor Smith called up. Curious to see what he can do on the NHL level. I have heard nothing but good things about him this year dating all the way back to training camp. Maybe it’s time to give him a shot over Tambs. I have been a Tambs supporter all along but he really needs to step up and start scoring. I think we need to trade him now while he may have any value at all left.
On a side note I will be in the game in Buffalo on Saturday. Let me know if any of you are gonna be there. We can meet up for a beer!
Go Isles!
Although your article makes sense, Chris, I still would love to see Iggulden up here. He is doing extremely well down in B-Port, and I think he does deserve a chance. Plus, he could be on the energy line with Jackman and Park, and we know he is going to skate very hard to try and prove something. I’m keeping my fingers crossed…
The fact that no one was called up yet means they are just trying to save a days NHL pay.
That lighthouse post got a few passionate reactions eh CB … good stuff!!
Anyway I think Fritz OR Jackman not both. At this point i would stick with jackman and call up Comeau.

Fritz is being called up.
i agree with “Justin Marques”. also with Fritz in the line-up Gordan can’t realy roll the 4 lines.
on the other hand Fritz is a monster and when he fight’s he can give the team a boost.
also i have a feeling J.Tambellini will have a very good game and put a cuple pucks in the back of the net.
CB,
Is “rich” the 5′9″ human that controls Mitch from inside… will they get a “too many men” if he was to jump out of his control pod while Fritz is on the ice?
Well there you have it … that mystery is cleared up. I wonder when/if Comeau will get a shot at the bigs this year.
who is fritz?
I like the move if it is Fritz. I understand calling up Blake or Smith, but give them time, they will have their chances. I know that Fritz won’t play much, but the chances of anyone taking shots at our players goes down dramatically when Fritz is staring them down.
I wonder if the insurgence is due to a Ranger loss, or the fact that all the guys at Morgan-Stanley have their personal effects (desk toys)in boxes and don’t have anything else to do while they wait for the “Jim, the boss would like to speak to you… and bring you playbook”….
Folks: same loser impersonating different people. Please ignore. He shows up after he gets a new IP. Imagine the life this guy leads. We know where he works, so here’s hoping it’s worth it for him…CB
Ill be at the buffalo game also on saturday.
I’ll apologize in advance for turning this into a chat room for a few minutes.
Dan, are you in New Orleans? If so, is Jimini still there (there is hockey relevance here, I promise.)
Wow….Comeau must still be kicking and screaming about the Nolan firing
CB,
I’m a bit puzzled as to why you would assume that Fritz would get 5-7 minutes when he hasn’t sniffed close to 5 minutes in his 5 previous games. We’re back to 3.5 lines.
That being said, I think it’s a good idea for the added toughness for the Devils and Buffalo games. I just wish it came in the form of an actuall NHL player that could log more than 41 seconds TOI.
After Buffalo dump Fritz and bring up Smith if KO isn’t ready
It will be from a actual NHL player, just a reminder hes weraring wearing #49
Same actual player & # that godard wears!
(same ability).. might even be tougher..
Go Fet em’ Fritzie.. create space for the skilled, proetct & change the tempo…
you dont need for them 5 minutes a game to do that!
Coach Sutter , puck is in your zone..
hey had to change the ball & court thing…
It’s Hockey Baby!
Lets Go Isles… Lets Go Islanders!!
*Get em’* referring to Leblond Clarkson Godard Peters, etc.. who ever!
lol.. sorry guy
later some things will never change..
Great Holiday Beer Winter Cask ALe put out by Michelob… A Must Try for those who Love Beer!

Nice call, Gordon. We take #4 - tanyte!
