UIF you are right Nolan had some positive attributes I just didn’t like his style of play. To me it was boring as he!! to watch.
Hilbert is getting ice time with Gordon as well but in my opinion being utilized better. He is no longer on the #2 or #1 PP unit. Sometimes he is out at the end of the PP to keep it in the offensive end which is smart. I actually like Hilbert’s play with Gordon and he seems well suited for our new coach. He is contibuting more offensively because he is being utilized better. I just hated that phrase and thought it was coined then used far to often just as Gordon’s “system” is getting a bit played out!!!!

matt - are you saying Hilbert isn’t getting a lot of ice time under Gordon as well? I’m sure Nolan would have loved to have very talented players, just as I’m sure Gordon would like talented players. When you don’t get good players, you make up things like “Nolan-type players” and such to make the players you do get sound better. I don’t understand why some fans feel the need to dump on Nolan all the time. All he did was take a team with marginal talent into the playoffs…and then keep a team with even less talent in the hunt past the All Star break the next year. Cut the guy some slack already. It’s not against the law to say both Gordon and Nolan have their positive attributes.

Thats what 15 years of futility will do to a fan base!

The word used to describe the situation is more Like “Restless”,
(For A Real Change)….

Fix The Lack of Team Commradery & the toughness needed to pull it together.
(prove to us Fritz can not handle a 4th line shift at the nhl level, do not play him on average of 1 to 2 minutes a game and say he’s not capable.. thats BS!
pure & simple!

He can be no less of a liability then Tambellini, we are not fools, the politics of this is wrong!

We (All) knew this year would be tough, Yet theres one addage we were always taught as childern,
When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going.

It’s Not Exceptable to wilt, like we have in the last two third periods.
In all aspects!
Thats Weak!

Last Word on Tambellini…..
Two different leagues, talent wise.
Whatever he did there it’s not working here..
This guy should be made a non-issue on this club.
Thus treated as one.
( get em’ outta the Lineup)

Does not desreve to wear the sweater at the NHL level at least on this team!

What was Tambellini’s game like at Bridgeport? Did he float into open spots and act as a sniper? Did he stick handle/power thru the D to score? Is he being used differently at the NHL level than he was at the AHL?

Regarding Tambellini, I like CB’s suggestion for a conditioning stint. He is producing almost zero scoring chances and is losing just about every battle along the wall and in the corners. In terms of some of the other posts here, during the Dynasty we had tough guys who could PLAY. That’s what we need now. Two UFAs who fit the bill: Mike Komisarek and Chris Neil.

What Tambellini problem???? There’s a Tambellini problem? We were told by countless members of the Isles org, plus THE Hockey Guru in Greg Logan that Ted Nolan didn’t know how to run a PP. That the PP would be significantly improved if the Evil Ted Nolan just put Jeffy on it. We were told, Jeffy had all sorts of talent…by Snow, by the Hockey Guru (Greg Logan), by many other Isles flack…we were told by Snowy & the Hockey Guru that Nolan hurtJeffy’s feelings & THAT’S why Jeffy wasn’t showing improvement.

Someday this org will get it right. Someday. And if they don’t get it right, someday this org will STOP blaming others & do the only damn thing respectable, hold themselves accountable & apologize to their fans. Someday.

Zhitnik sucked for us. Good in Buffalo sucked for us. Very creative Titanic refernece. Guess you didn’t pick up on the sarcassam in the Guerin comment. Coburn is great but don’t say he is the key to Philly’s back line when that is their major problem this year. Bad analogy….
