THOMAS POCK GETS 5 GAMES
Forfeits $17,943.55 in pay

by admin on November 14th, 2008 at 5:21 pm

5:00 pm - A ridiculous, but not surprising over-reaction by the National Hockey League police force.

What did Kovalchuk get for this elbow on Pock?

And, go figure, TSN had the news an hour before the league announced it.

Okay, back to the Q & A.

    its stupid
    but nhl doesnt like us

  2. avatar Uncle Jr says:

it was an obvious elbow but 5 is too much, 2 would have been enough

  3. avatar 7th Woman says:

does Pock have previous suspensions? Is that why?

  4. avatar kevin says:

no but im fed up with star treatment on both teams and players

See Colin “freakin” Campbell nails the Islanders again. How did Kotopolus then only get three games when he did ALL that damage to the opposing player? I guess Montreal is a favored team just like the Rangers. There is a question I wanna know why doesn’t Wang go after Campbell’s job with Bettman? It would be easy enough to show 1) his bias against the Isles and 2)that there is no consistancy with NHL discipline.

Hey Jerk did you ever call Witt back to this day after the Brashear incident? I didn’t think so. I HATE COLIN CAMPBELL. He was a crappy and dirty player so it is a joke he has the job he does. If he wasn’t coach of the Rangers and socializing with NHL brass he’d never have the job he does.

Who cares. It’s actually doing us a favor. Pock is brutal!!!

  7. avatar michael says:

pock should have headhunted a ranger..

  8. avatar Daniel says:

this is such a nonsense call. It should have been the same as Ruutu at 2 games. Another wonderful call but the NHL brass

  9. avatar AM says:

    What a joke!

  10. avatar Shoogah says:

Um…good. Pock is not exactly an asset. He was prolly gonna sit for Radek anyway.

  11. avatar Strummer's Army says:

melrose go fired. Interstin Tochett is their choice with his gambling past.

  12. avatar Ray says:

Pock was terrible IMO, so him sitting is doing us a favor.

  13. avatar Steve says:

5 games is too long. But it doesn’t really matter because Martinek was going to take his place away.

  14. avatar Joe says:

    Pock stinks anyway.

Hey Chris, regarding the PB night suggestion in Suffolk – how about Dave and Busters in Airport Plaza on Route 110? Great big screens, plenty of free parking & cold beers and good food (and no I don’t expect you to pick up the tab – unless of course you can get Charley Wang to drop some coin on us poor suffering fans :)

Doesn’t really matter all that much to me where you hold it since I have to commute from Brooklyn! But I’ll be there!

  16. avatar Isles Fan in Ulster County says:

Two games, okay. Five shows more disparities in Islander suspensions than many other suspensions. Pock’s elbow was definitely suspension-worthy (in today’s NHL), but I think Campbell likes to “send messages” to the Islanders via these ridiculous suspensions. As an example: last year after Simon’s incident, Pronger pulled the same crap later in the season and got 8 games after people complained about his 0 game suspension. Campbell is terrible.

Colin Campbell is a little waste of a man who has an obvious hard-on for the Islanders. The guy is a waste of oxygen and a Ranger for life even though they crapped all over him. A despicable little man who makes the NHL even less credible. When the NHL realizes little aberrations like Campbell are a detriment to itself they will become a more mainstream(as well as credible) league.

  18. avatar Mike says:

Too bad it is not for the rest of the season.Pock SUCKS!

  19. avatar matt says:

If we can only get Gervais to grow a spine and take a run at someone. hhhmmmmm….

  20. avatar Ed J says:

5 games…really?!?!? Thank goodness it was not Sid or any Ranger, probably would have gotten a 4 year suspension, 2 year jail time, automatic Islander 10-game losing streak, any instant replay call to Toronto will go against the Islanders and will give the opposing team a 4-min 5 on 3 powerplay, ect….

    The NHL does hate NYI…
