HOW TO SEE THE ALL-STAR GAME IN STYLE
Please support Steve Webb’s Foundation fundraiser
(UPDATE: In the Comments space, Steve Webb has responded with thanks to those purchasing raffle tix.)
When I saw it was Steve Webb calling, I’ll admit to being a little concerned the Atlantic Division rep for the NHL Players Association was going to ram me into the boards for the Sean Avery story. Thankfully, the popular former Islander had charity on his mind.
Steve’s W20 Foundation, which he started to promote and support youth hockey in his adopted home of Long Island, is holding a fundraising raffle. And what a prize Steve has lined up. Raffle tickets are $25 each, but the winner gets a hockey fan weekend of a lifetime:
4 Tickets to the NHL All-Star Game in Montreal on January 25, 2009. (With the Canadiens’ 100th anniversary, these tickets are impossible to get).
- 4 Tickets to the NHL All-Star Skills Competition the night before.
- One night hotel accomodations for 4 on Saturday, January 24.
- And to top it off, travel in style with round-trip air transportation for your group of 4 out of Republic Airport in Farmingdale.
Raffle ticket sales are on-going through Jan. 6, 2009. The raffle will be held the next day.
To purchase tickets and learn more, click here or go to Steve’s foundation website at www.w20foundation.org.

Hey Everyone,
Talk about getting things rolling right out of the gate. Things are moving here with the raffle. I want to thank everyone for there great remarks towards the foundation and my time here on the Island. As for a come back? Ricky asked today about that. I told him that I haven’t walked away from to many meals lately. He laughed. Anyway I appreciate people passing this along to others that might have some interest of not only going up and having a great time in Canada but also to help out some amazing kids.Keep your heads up I might run into over the holidays around the local rinks.

As well, eveyone who purchases will be recieving there tickets via mail.
Good Luck!

I forwarded this on to my family in New York. It is a great cause but I live in Florida.
Thanks for doing this good deed Webb and thanks for your time in the Island. I was right behind Cloutier net in Tampa that night when he kicked Connolly in the face and suckered you in the face after the refs had saved him by pulling him out of the pile. Those were the days when you didn’t mess with the Isles just ask Simpson’s jaw courtesy of Cairns!

Hey Steve… I hope you are still checking this. I tried to buy a ticket today, but it would not accept my Canadian postal code. Is there any other way to arrange a ticket, or to fix that little problem on your site? Thanks!

How nice! I just bought a raffle ticket… anything for Stevie, plus that is one fine prize! If I won that raffle, Id buy a Streit Islanders jersey and wear it all over Montreal!
