He’s a superstar. Superstars don’t get punished? Maybe Campbell needs to be relieved of his duties as the disciplinarian.
An absolute joke. Biased BS. If that was Witt clueless Campbell would have suspended him for 10 at least. Just furthering the ridiculousness that is the NHL.
I have never seen punches to the “lower body.” That was a pretty manly thing to do, he should be proud of himself.
This is exactly why so many people have little respect for Crosby. He’s a dirty player who whines like a little school girl. There’s no question that he’s one of the most talented players in the game, but you can’t respect a cheap shot artist like that.
Well, criticizing the guy that’s bled onto every propaganda spot (NHL All Star….text CROSBY) and awed by every commentator by mandate……he’s a little punk and this clip was just a sign of his character. Simon got how many games yet Cundy punches a guy in the ding-dings and gets what? McSorely got what? Cindy Crosby has shown no guts, only went after guys who were being held or engaged in a scuffle because he’s cheap.
I’d give him more respect for those hits if he swung a purse at the opponents. Mario always held his own….the refs ignored the hits until Mario was winning Cup rings unlike Gretzky. Cindy gets the phantom penalty calls and is Gretzky Part II with this league but Gretzky never behaves so trailer park with the physical game (he ran to Janet instead).
Suspension or admit the league has no interest in the rules. And may the players police themselves if that be the case.

llets see, if that was an isladner doing that he’d get 5 games at least. if it happened TO an islander, there’d be no suspension however.. sid the kid is a dirty player tho no doubt about that..
Big Crosby fan (I don’t hate players because they’re good) - but that was just uncalled for. Little disappointed in his gutless actions there. Not defensible.

hey chris, is there any way the fans can get involved somehow? is there an email address to the nhl where we can send complaints? because if the nhl wants to gain any respect after every call they blow, this should be addressed. the NHL’s Golden boy, cheap shots while a guy is down, cant protect himself. this is a disgrace. maybe if enough people flood the nhls email and mail boxes something will get done. maybe its wishful thinking, but id try anything.
Gretzky was the king of spearing. Learned from his buddy Messier the other “gentleman” of the NHL. He would never get a penalty much less suspended. Cindy although a good player really detracts from himself with his diving and antics. He needs a good a$$kicking which someone maybe more inclined to do after this. We can only hope.
I have to say I agree, because of who he is and what he is to the NHL, he gets away with it! yet take a look at some other vids of similar and what happen to said player/s? Once again Campbell shows his true colors and I also think he should be relieved of his duties, one to many times with this now, enough is enough!..
Maybe Campbell needs a rest like Comeau apparently did and let HIM be a healthy scratch for a while. Campbell is terrible.

He only got 2 minutes for roughing. A Match penalty should have been called for attempt to injure. Unless the league finds that punching a guy in the groin isn’t really trying to hurt someone. That should be minimum 2 games because there was a deliberate attempt to hurt someone.
The 5 gamer on Pock makes me roll my eyes more and more because Pock made a bad play, he didn’t throw an intentional elbow.
we know the national hympocracy league operates. someone ought to nail cindy in the head so can know never to punch anyone bertuzzi style again. cindy needed another another teammate with him to fight……tells you all you need to know…..and btw, i dont see the comparisons between cindy and gretzy, no where near the total point totals thu s far in cindys career. additionally, the national hipocracy league is retratedthat they helavily market this guy. you can do so much better with ovechkin, iginla, thorton, ovy, kovalchuk, etc…..oh, well thats why no one really watches the national hypocracy league besides die hards

Crosby is a gutless little whiny jerk. If he were on the Isles I’d admire the talent but not the way he plays and whines.
The NHL is totally biased in how it handles “Justice”. Justice does not exist in the NHL. It was the same with Gretzky and Lemuix you weren’t allowed to check them or you get called for a penalty on a perfectly clean hit. Yet, them, Lemuix especially was nasty with his stick. He repeatedly double fist hammer cross check other players with no call.
Colin Campbell is incompetent in his job. Why the owners are not after that scum bags job I have no idea because it makes the NHL look like a joke. He is also biased and unfair.
What Crosby did is totally gutless and it proves he isn’t a man. Not only punching someone repeatedly who was vunerable and being held down and back but to repeatedly punch him in his groin is disgusting. I hope Atlanta kills the little jerk. I hope next time they play Atl calls up every fighter they have and just empty’s the benches and destroys him. Yes, they’ll be fined and suspended but the little prick needs it. I admire true stars like Ovechenkin who plays the game the right way. Crosby if he is the face of the NHL it is an ugly face.
the thrashers will make sure cindy gets is next time they play the pens. regardless of the suspension/fines that my be handed out. and you know what, crosby, deserves whats coming to him.
Its just going to make other guys in the league want to hurt Crosby, can’t wait for these two teams together again
The League is asking for Crosby to get hurt by a cheap shot that comes his way now. I hate to say it, but the lack of discipline handed down makes another Steve Moore incident more and more likely.
Being a superstar helps. Being on one of the NHL’s preferred teams helps. But being a superstar ON one of the NHLs preferred teams? You can do anything. And the double standards show themselves yet AGAIN.

It’s because Sidney has just set the all-time record for All-Star votes with 1 million-plus. Duh.
Hunter, by the way, pathetically has 8,250 more votes than I do. Which has to be possibly the lowest vote total for any player in any pro sport ever to be on an A-S ballot. Even DP has about 11,000 and he doesn’t have a win this year.

Okay, I agree. How does he not get suspended for that? Because it wasn’t a “hit to the head”…. maybe they need to clarify WHICH head. Crosby should pay the price just as any other NHLer. Star or not.

the nhl only suspends fringe players unless they commit the offense against the islanders in which case they look the other way. colin campbell has done an AWFUL job.
You will have to forgive Sid and Colon - they do not comprehend the severity of Crosby’s hit to the groin. Since they are both lacking a set, they dont realize that a shot to that area would be so painful and cheap. Its not their fault.
