ISLANDERS AT ATLANTA, 7:05 pm
Comeau-Bailey-Okposo debuts

by admin on January 29th, 2009 at 6:09 pm

Logie confirms that it is Bailey centering Comeau and Okposo, Frans between Hunter and Park, Hilbert-Thompson-Jackman and Comrie-Weight-Guerin. Considering the Tavheduchian magnitude of tonight’s game, they could be talking about tonight’s game for months.

You can talk about it right now. In Comments. Guidelines.

It would be an important game to lose

  2. avatar Cahoward28 says:

This would be such a big loss that if we lose, we can actually start rooting for the Islanders again!

  3. avatar Don't Mind the Haters says:

Wow – the line combo’s look great!!!

Amazing how much better it can be without Sim penciled in somewhere.

I don’t know why, but I feel sorry for Tambs.

  4. avatar Daryl C says:

Part of me thinks they are going to win tonight with so many guys back in the lineup, however, they always seem to stink it up coming off a long rest of 3 or more days…and it’s been a lot longer than 3 this time.

  5. avatar Joe in Massapequa says:

CB, that last line is great. The lines for tonight look accurate. Let’s see if Campoli has a bit of step to his game. I will take an OT loss because I am in hockey withdrawal right now and kind of would be disappointed with a regulation loss.

  6. avatar Rick says:

Tonight’s thread could end up looking like something out of the Twilight Zone, where Islander fans are cheering for Atlanta and upset when the Isles score a goal.

Lets Go Thrashers! Put this team one step closer to Tavheduch!

  7. avatar Dally Mac says:

I will be disappointed if they win tonight. Like someone said up above, if they lose tonight, we can start cheering for them again. A nice 10 point deficit will exist then. Should start Mannino….lol Hope we lose 7-5 or 7-6; in which, we got down by five goals and came storming back only to lose (before OT).

  8. avatar Chris A says:

No matter what happens tonight we’re still in last if this were in March then I’d be a Thrasher fan.

  9. avatar Paul * says:

Just heard Gordons pregame comments on Yan Danis and Boy he just cant give the Kid a compliment.

  10. avatar Jon says:

    i like the combos

  11. avatar Paul * says:

CB, did you see that Godard/Orr fight last Night? It was a beauty!

  12. avatar Macch says:

Isles lose 7-6 tonight… Comrie Weight Guerin get all the points to raise their stock but the Kid line looks great… unfortunately Witt was a minus 7 and takes over the league lead for worse +/- in the league.

  13. avatar Devon says:

You guys suck. Never root against your team until, like, the last week of the year. You play to win the game, and I’ll be cheering for the kids tonight.

  14. avatar Devon says:

Hell Yeah! Nice job, Trent. That’s what you Duchenes get.

  15. avatar Macch says:

    I was wrong lol already

  16. avatar Jason W says:

I wont root against my Isles, but I wont be upset if they lose.

I just want to see improvement out of the youngsters game to game. Wins and losses are unimportant, but development is.

  17. avatar Jason W says:

What a great crowd… *yawn* Isles get blasted for their lousy attendance yet Atlanta averages only 700 more fans a game.

  18. avatar Ron says:

I was thinking that to. I haven’t seen this many empty seats since the last Isles game at the Coliseum.

  19. avatar beatlebailey says:

its not like the isles are going to draw flies on the road either..lol

  20. avatar Jason W says:

3 goals in 10:25… who are these guys?

  21. avatar Dan says:

    I smell a victory!!!

  22. avatar Jason W says:

the isles get blasted for their lousy fan support, yet there are 5 other teams averaging under 15,000 a game. And I seriously doubt the Isles are the reason why their attendance sucks.

  23. avatar Jason W says:

    WOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

    HEY!

    HEY!

  24. avatar Jason W says:

    da da da dum…..

    HEY!

    WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  25. avatar Strummer's Army says:

Some where John Tavares is watching this game and thinking he’d rather play for the Isles.

Anyway, this is how I wanted the team to play all year but as much I like seeing them win I want nothing to interfere with the Isles getting Tavares.

Weight just scored, there ya go fellas increase your trade value!

  26. avatar Shoogah says:

Uh oh. The boys look good tonight.

  27. avatar Jim says:

Who is this team in white?

Atlanta is a fair weather fan town. They only go to games if their teams are winning. And even then that’s not enough. I was down there for work 3-4 years ago during the MLB playoffs. They were doing buy one get one free for the Braves game. The tickets started at $5, supposedly they have $1 standing room tickets.

  28. avatar Chris A says:

If the KC folks want to find a team to bring there it should be Atlanta not us we actually care about our team.

  29. avatar Pete M says:

The kid line is playing awesome

  30. avatar Mike says:

umm…i don’t know what to say….4-0 after 1? what the heck is going on….i hope this does not become a trend.

  31. avatar Strummer's Army says:

Hey, can ya’ll give me a recap on what the Isles announcers said during the first period? I didn’t realize they had both broadcast on tonight and watched the Thrashers first period. Who were very complimentary.

  32. avatar Pete M says:

Not much real analysis over the last 6 or 7 minutes, which is when I started watching. Just that the Thrashers were all just kind of standing around and the Isles were taking advantage, which was pretty obvious. Rose did say that the Penguins were interested in bringing back Colby Armstrong to play with Crosby. Mt first thought was maybe they’d want Hilbert back too.

  33. avatar Strummer's Army says:

Thanks Pete. It is funny you mention Hilbert to Pit as I was thinking they and Detroit might be interested in him.
