Not many players by-pass the AHL. And not many players shoul dby-pass that level of developemnt. Look at Philly. They were fortunate to have the kids go to the AHL during the off-season. The late round pickups that turn into greatness are what separates the great GM's from the other GM's. If Martin was in this draft with these numbers he would go first round....Nice pick, another Lucic type player. A few more of these guys and the Islanders would be hard to play. If we have Hedman sitting at 2, or Tavares (unlikely)... both are really great prospects that would help this team out in the long run.
