CALLAHAN, JOENSUU TO BRIDGEPORT
Lighthouse Prez, Justin Bourne set for PB Night

For some reason, the Islanders aren’t saying. But the tireless Mike Fornabaio has Joe Callahan and Jesse Joensuu back in Bridgeport. There was some buzz about Joel Rechlicz being with the Islanders for the trip, but no one will confirm that. Brendan Witt returns from suspension just in time for the Maple Leafs.

Our intermission guests at Point Blank Night tomorrow, by reader request, include Michael Picker - President of the Lighthouse Development Group, and Justin Bourne - part of the potential Bourne-Gillies dynasty. There will be other surprises as well and plenty of Islanders talk. Details and RSVP here.

I think the Isles should have first dibs to draft all the Bourne/Gillies offspring! Huge and fast - just what we need. LOL

Good to hear about Figren coming over. Now is there any chance that Max Gratchev and Simon Lacroix get bumped to the echl.it seems like Max tapped out in the Q,and Lacroix looks like he earned a better look. Also would like to know your thoughts on Jason Gregorie and Blake Kessel and their possible impact on the Isles dept chart.

I wrote earlier today about Figren being cleared to play.

I would go real easy about Lacroix and Gratchev as prospects. Kessel and Gregoire are not top prospects, at least not yet, and still have plenty of college time left…CB

I really enjoyed watching Jesse Joensuu while he was up with the Islanders. He really looked like he fit in and had a lot of great scoring opportunities. It would’ve been nice to see Joensuu up on the Island so that Figren can get some time in Bridgeport. Also, the coaching staff at Bridgeport has done a phenominal job this year. The Isles continue to take players out of their lineup and they still continue to have great success. Bridgeport should have a great chance at winning it all down in the AHL with Okposo and Comeau coming back into the lineup for the playoffs.

I love how the Isles are playing but I am afraid we might lose the number 1 or 2 pick. What do you think Chris. By the way Chris your site is amazing, and I go to it more than any other hockey site.

This means nothing and I shouldn’t even care, but not having Okposo in the Youngstars Game during All-Star weekend was an absolute joke.

I really like Callahan. I would prefer to see him play and scratch Polk. I doubt he will be back next year anyway, and Callahan has the potential to be with the team.

CB, what are the chances of the lighthouse getting approval before Wang’s deadline. You should do a piece on potential captains..Dan

Man, I’m going to miss Justin Bourne and PB2. You’ve gotta have one of these on a night other than Tuesdays - I have to play my OWN games!

You’d be surprised how many Isles fans there are at my Jersey rink - three on my team alone, including a guy who wears #32 in honor of Steve Thomas. If you have a PB Night when we’re not playing maybe I can organize an expedition northwards…
