DEVILS at ISLANDERS, 2:05 pm
Iggulden makes NYI debut; Talk about the game here

by admin on March 7th, 2009 at 11:17 am

11:15 am - Mike Iggulden finally gets the reward for his production (23 goals and 58 points) in Bridgeport. He’ll make his Islanders debut in today’s matinee against the legendary Martin Brodeur and the Devils. The Islanders just texted that Iggulden is up, as are the predicted Jesse Joensuu and Joe Callahan.

This could mean Thomas Pock is back, which could result in some Pockian comment-ary. My response would be the Islanders are okay with Pock playing 10 minutes here and Andrew McDonald playing more than 20 in the playoff drive for the Sound Tigers.

Talk about the game in Comments. Enjoy the beautiful weather, too…CB

  1. avatar 7th Woman says:

A debut on a day game? Maybe he can change the usually day-game odds. Should be fun though! :o )

  2. avatar michael says:

since atlanta is only 5 points up on us, maybe its a good thing pock is coming back today!!

  3. avatar TIM says:

Atlanta is 7 pts now they won last night

  4. avatar Obs says:

I’ll be there today. See ya all there.

  5. avatar Islanders1984 says:

7 is good, but there needs to be a bigger distance. ATl has a tough schedule i don’t see them winning a whole lot

  6. avatar TIM says:

i like joensuu good experience for him, hope he makes the team someday long way to go though but he’s got potential

  7. avatar TimQ says:

    Iggulden … Isn’t that MIA’s baby’s name

  8. avatar TIM says:

your right #5 it’s been 5 or 7 points for about a month now and even tampa is only 8 back so a 15 point gap would be a little more comforting hehe

  9. avatar 2277 says:

I will be there too. I hope we see alot call ups to secure that #1 pick.

  10. avatar Shoogah says:

We have a pretty tough schedule, too. Habs, Bruins, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Flyers. I don’t see us making a killing either.

  11. avatar Jerky says:

Love that we’re getting a taste of our youth. I wonder how many vets will be in our starting lineup for ’09-’10. We have a lot of kids and I would imagine some of them may be trading pieces come draft day.

  12. avatar CMB says:

This is great news. Mike Iggulden has more than earned this opportunity.

  13. avatar goislesgo105 says:

I read on the Bridgeport blog that Robin Figren is with the SoundTigers. He is waiting for the OK from Sweden to play. Hope he develops as well as JJ is!! GO ISLES!!

  14. avatar islesnut says:

#5- The Isles have a crazy hard schedule, as well.

They play 10 of the last 16 games on the road. The Isles are coming in last, there is not even a question about that…

  15. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

Had a good pre-game pow-wow with a Devil fan this morning after being behind the bench at a youth game … He gave Isles fans a compliment … stating .. if the Devils had the Isles record the past 15 years … there is no way they’d be able to fill their barn the way Isles fans still fill NVMC … he said as good as the Devils are now they still don’t get sellouts at the Rock on a consistent basis.

Lets beat those Devs today with the kids.

  16. avatar StevieL says:

I am thinking out of the 3 in the race for the bottom, Atlanta and Tampa Bay would be more inclined to draft for defense. They both have offensive stars already. I think they would likely draft Hedman first! Maybe we get Tavares even if we draft second!

  17. avatar Mark says:

Chris I guess I got to the computer a litle late today, when you get a chance could you please give a follow-up on my responce (#77) on the Team photo article you wrote earlier. Thanks Chris, Mark

  18. avatar Andrew says:

    StevieL (16),
I agree that it wouldn’t be a tragedy to end up with the number 2 pick, but the potential problem with ending the season with the second worse record is that someone below us could win the lottery and bump us down to number 3, denying us the chance at Tavares or Hedman (not that Duchene doesn’t have great potential). Whereas if we end up with the worst record, regardless of how the lottery goes, we are guaranteed a top 2 pick.

  19. avatar coolhndluke says:

Sorry Stevie but whoever finishes with the 1st overall pick, they will take Tavares. 100% guarenteed, only thing that would change that is if Tavares got a season/career ending injury. He is just THAT good.

  20. avatar isles3113 says:

#15, completely agree with you… my bro is a devil’s fan and when I went to a game with him at the rock, it wasn’t nearly sold out… we take pride in our team, winning or losing

  21. avatar Islander505 says:

    Good point 19Isles….

As an aside…The Yankees in the dark days of the late 60′s/early 70′s prior to Steinbrenner, RARELY got 15k at a game unless they were giving away bats.

  22. avatar Ray says:

Just got my Bossy bobblehead! Let’s beat those pesky Devils, keep Parise off the scoresheet, & someone hit Mottau HARD!

  23. avatar TIM says:

funny ray #22 you just got bossy’s bobblehead and your post #22 good job

  24. avatar eye on the island says:

now that we went on a little run, played the rags all out and closed the gap w/ atl and tb, its time to go back to doing what got us to this point in the first place-and that is losing.

if we someone do not end up with the worst record it would be a terrible exclamation point on an already terrible season.

  25. avatar Jay says:

Thrilled to see Iggy get called up. I’m a cornell alum and happy to see the first cornell alum play for my isles

  26. avatar JayK says:

Luke — #19 — I don’t think there’s any way that Tampa Bay passes on Hedman if they get the first pick. Up front they’ve got Vinnie, St. Louis, Stamkos. I feel confident Hedman would be their pick.

    Atlanta? I really don’t know.

    Ottawa goes for Hedman.

    Colorado goes for Tavares.

Those are my worthless predictions for the current bottom 5.

Oh, and if Toronto falls, they absolutely go for Tavares.

  27. avatar born83 says:

Hey CB this is my first post at your blog but I’m been reading it for quite some time. I know this is off topic but I didn’t know where to post. Anyway do you know anything about any future Islander HOF inductees like say Westfall, Tonelli, Lafontaine(yeah i know there’s issues with wang) Sutter(rival coach but former captain) Goring, Turgeon Palffy or even just Morrow considering he works for the company. Just curious anyway great blog and lets go Isles.

  28. avatar Strummer's Army says:

So no enforcer vs. the Devs?

  29. avatar coolhndluke says:

Jay TB would move Vinny for a cheaper talent and they want to give this team to Stamkos anyway. 1st overall RARELY picks for need, they most always take the best player available.

  30. avatar Glenn says:

Pock is my guy! Hope he’s back.

  31. avatar CT Isles Fan says:

    New Goal Song part?

  32. Nice to see Martinek put some pucks into the opposing net for once.

  33. avatar Nick G says:

New goal song period…The whole thing is practically totally different.

  34. avatar CT Isles Fan says:

Well it wasn’t that way at the ranger game. Thats what i meant. they have the woos and lets go islanders, but the music is the same.

  35. avatar Nick G says:

I like the fact that they’re not giving up on it at all…Much as the fans seem to hate this (I got sick of R&R P1 personally), least they’re trying to do something that works…Oddly enough, that was what I’d invision a custom goal song to sound like, or at least, close to it…It’s ironic, this comes out the day after I created the death metal grunted version.

  36. avatar CT Isles Fan says:

    Where can I hear that?

  37. avatar CT Isles Fan says:

    Bailey to KO connection

  38. avatar MT says:

    Yeah Tamby!!

  39. avatar nystrom23 says:

where is this unbelievable play coming from?

  40. avatar PatrickF says:

I love beating Brodeur, but I would’ve rather had this happen on Thursday

  41. avatar nystrom23 says:

This team looks nothing like a group of minor leaguers…Brodeur must be in shock

  42. How great is Streit’s pass! Awsome first period. :)

  43. avatar Gary says:

One thing I learned today: No way, no how do you give up on Tamby yet. There’s some upside to the kid.Thinking of going to Tigers-Phantoms later
    .

  44. avatar Nick G says:

CB, I have to appologise for this…but, if I don’t link this here, noone’s going to hear it. Number 36…

  45. avatar dally mac says:

Beautiful pass by Bailey to Okposo. Bailey will learn to do that on a more regular basis with a good chunk of time spent next year in Bridgeport. I’d say 20-40 game to start the season. It worked wonders for Okposo (who probably should have spent even more time there). I never whine over kids spending time in the minors, and it should not be considered a step back. He couldn’t go there this year, because of Jr. restrictions.

  46. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

They are smoothering the Devils … no surprise they are up 3-0 and getting better scoring chances than the Devs … even Tambo getting in on the act … what a great spring pass by Streit for the Tambo break away.

  47. avatar Chris TMC says:

Nick G: it is not new, it is the same exact song. They are using part of the song that they cut out early in the season. This is the third “remake” of it that they have tried out.

  48. avatar Nick G says:

    Forth and final.

To the metal one, I called it new because, for all intents and purposes, it is. That wasn’t the old drawn out “Let’s! Go! Islanders!” today, That part was never in the original, nor was it cut from the longo version they uploaded to YouTube.

The first one was the one with the original “Let’s! Go! Islanders!”, then they chopped that off. I didn’t like the idea of the chop off, but it occured. Then, someone broke out a guitar and played a solo over what’s already there. Miner change, but an interesting idea, and now this. Four mods all season. Least they’re trying to gauge what of the goal song makes fans like it best…Hell, they spent money on making this puppy, they’d better get it as right as they can.

  49. avatar Strummer's Army says:

Nice Goal by Okposo and all those involved in it. Reminds me of the good ol’ days. Also, Tambs 5-hole on Broudeur wonderful!

Can we please never hear anything about Egg Levine again? Howie is a great guy and maybe it is because it is a down year but this isn’t his personal stand up time. The Egg production reminds me of stuff we used to do in TV production in HS. How about a feature on an Islander Alumni or prospects or something meaningful. This Egg guy seems like a Ranger fan.

  50. avatar Islander505 says:

Egg showed his class for all the face time he’s getting by referencing
    the “Icelanders” in his interview.

I hope Butchie DRILLS him in the contest.

  51. avatar Islander505 says:

Jaffe’s comments about Hillen’s play in the D zone on Bergie’s goal are EXACTLY why he is one of the best color men in the NHL today.

    Good stuff Mr. Jaffe.

  52. Tch tch Joey Mac. Rebound control, buddy. Good game by the Isles. Keep up the scoring.

  53. avatar Islander505 says:

    Horrible rebound by Mac.
Seems like he always has a boneheader every game.

  54. avatar Chickendirt says:

I have no feed for the game today. That sucks.

Looks like Tambellini having another two point night. I’m really REALLY happy for this kid.

It’s been a really slow process for him but he looks like he’s finally becoming an NHL player.

  55. avatar Adam M. says:

absolutely chickendirt, they’re finally starting to go in for this kid.

  56. avatar TIM says:

MacDonald, horrible rebound control Devils will barry us that way

  57. avatar Islander505 says:

Bailey with a DAZZLING pass to Comeau..

    WOW..

  58. avatar Mike Olivo says:

MacDonald is killing me…Loving Tambellini and Bailey together. Great to see Iggulden getting a shot.

  59. avatar Joe says:

HOLY CRAP! Who is this team and where did the Islanders go?

  60. avatar Kevin Fitz says:

Who is the team wearing the blue jersey’s??

  61. avatar Mike Olivo says:

    the kansas city royals?

  62. avatar Chickendirt says:

    Hey guys!!!

What difference when you see the team get much younger. Too bad I can’t watch this one. Looks like they are putting on one hell of a show.

No doubt that this team comes back next season a much more confident one. You jus gotta be proud to see these kids finally start to break through.

They’ve all had such a tough go of it this season.

  63. avatar Islander505 says:

Macdonald will keep this game close…unless they can slap some velcro on this glove in betwen periods.

The kids are simply STUNNING today…

I am getting more impressed with Hillen each game….He is as POISED a young D-man as I have ever seen

  64. avatar TIM says:

What a SICK pass from Bailey YESSSSS what a goal

  65. Sick pass by Bailey, beautiful finish by Comeau.

    Way to go Bergie!

This is what I’ve been waiting for this season. A game where the Isles dominate, dominate! Keep it going. No third period flubs.

  66. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

505 … I noticed Egg’s “Icelander” comment too … thought right after that we’d see Butchy lace ‘im with a few bullets to the groin …. but forgot … Ragy Blue Skirts got no balls :)

  67. How about those Bridgeport kids? All the credits in the world to Capuano and his staff… Great game… Very proud of Isles… By the way, I am getting a lot of compliments from Rags fan who surrounds me here in Brooklyn. Poor suckers are realy impressed with our game recently. Keep it up boys but don’t forget that we need Tavares.

  68. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

These kids are kickin’ some Devil pointed tail :) Bergy has been strong all game on both sides of the puck … hope he gets the trick … and Iggy with another point on a great forecheck play.

  69. avatar Islander505 says:

We are getting a glimpse of the future here today guys..Regardless of the final outcome (Mac makes me nervous….get him a big net instead of a glove )..

This has been an OUTSTANDING TWO PERIODS.

Now…let’s hope Goring DEMOLISHES Yolk boy.

  70. avatar born83 says:

Wow great to see the young guys all producing: Bailey, Okposo, Neilsen Comeau as well as newcomer Iggulden and Tambs and Bergy. Hopefully Joensuu joins in on the fun and the rest pot some more points. Sign wish Zachy Parise was their leader but hopefully we get Taveras soon.

  71. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

Jaffs just vandalized NYC Public school property with a crushed egg … lol :D

  72. avatar ny711ot says:

what an awesome display….can someone get mottau?

  73. avatar Islander505 says:

Don’t let Jaffe give glove hand lessons to McDonald.

  74. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

In all fairness .. Jaffs used a baseball mitt for a glove … Eggs Levine has a fishing net for a glove … LOL

  75. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

505 … I know you … and SW have some years on me … but I’m sure that some of my other fellow Isles fans can attest from the NYC area … we’ve had some great roller hockey brawls in the public school yards with a mix of Isles and Ranger fans … ahh the days … and school yards with lights … we had to be kicked out by the police for playing past midnight. Even had Nicky Fotiu of Ranger fame show up some nights.

  76. avatar Islander505 says:

    Fairness 19Isles?
I didn’t see Jaffe’s glove hand leave his body. It was tied to his hip.

  77. avatar Pez says:

    is botta alive? o.O

  78. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

505 … Butchy froze Jaffs … never had a chance to move… in other news … it being a weekend of Bossy and Trotts bobble heads… I’m wondering if it really is a tribute to my user name … being I honor Trotts and the Boss with their numbers :D

  79. avatar Joe says:

    Can someone go after Motteau.

  80. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

Can you imagine what Bailey is thinking … a year ago this time he was playing Junior Hockey … a year later … he’s getting assists setting up goals against a legendary goaltender in the NHL.

  81. avatar Joe says:

Nice little cheap hit on Motteau.

  82. avatar Joe says:

The dope, that cost us a goal.

  83. avatar TuxTax says:

    it was worth it

  84. avatar Chickendirt says:

Was that Tambellini that Boarded Mottau.

(Not able to watch game is why I’m asking)

    If so, well worth it.

  85. avatar Joe says:

Shouldve put Motteau out for the year.

  86. avatar Joe says:

    84- yeah

  87. avatar Islander505 says:

can’t blame Mac for that goal…

Good penalty by Tambs….very good penalty.
(Even though I don’t think it was intentional).

19Isles….so why aren’t you at the game?
You could be autgraphing everyone’s bobblehead.

  88. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

I saw Tamby line up Motteau in the first period too … he seems to enjoy hitting him … that is why when he pulled up on Motteau he kinda followed through on the hit…. worth giving up the goal … OK … which guy is next to line up Motteau?? Nielsen himself? :)

  89. avatar Lenny says:

    Free Chili !!

  90. avatar Brian G says:

This is off the subject, but did anyone buy the Islanders DVD 10 Greatest Games box set? Does Modell’s have it? What stores have it? I heard it comes with a Voucher for 2 tickets to a game. Thanks

  91. avatar Islander505 says:

    Butchy “froze” Jaffe?
    ROFL..

Land Rover play of the game was NOT Tambs 5 hole goal on Brodeur….It was his boarding of Mottau

  92. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

505 … you talked about Joey Mac’s rebounds earlier …

He kinda reminds me of a pitch back … throw the ball at it … and it bounces right back to ya.

BTW … turn a pitch back backwards and it makes a great substitute hockey net :)

  93. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

Jackman … one tough SOB … that is a hockey player.

  94. avatar Chris TMC says:

Re 93: I frickin LOVE Tim Jackman.

  95. avatar Joe says:

Jackman rules., consistently puts 110 percent in every game.

  96. avatar isles72 says:

Hunter out for the season …….

  97. avatar Joe says:

Damn another one done for the year.

  98. avatar CJCB says:

Jackman tough, not really. I mean he does take alot of punches and comes back the next game but not very feared around the league. That is unless you are 5’8 and 165lbs.

  99. avatar TuxTax says:

Maybe they should dress 19 guys every game next season?

  100. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

Timmy Jackman may one day be our Duane Sutter .. My first memory of Duane was him spitting out a tooth his rookier year when I was sitting two rows behind the Isles bench at MSG.

  101. avatar CJCB says:

Jackman NEVER takes on tough SOB’s, so how can he be a tough SOB??

  102. avatar TIM says:

That’s too bad for Hunt’s “BRING UP ANOTHER FROM THE BRIDGE”

  103. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

What is the over under that the Isles finish with over 500 man games lost for the season?

  104. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

Tis true CJCB … he seems to take it more than he gives it … but he takes a freakin’ lot.

  105. avatar Islander505 says:

Jackman is a keeper….I don’t give a damn whether he is “feared” around the league.
He has all the makings of being a John Tonelli who will drop the gloves.

And…I am gonna say this again…get Joennsuu ballet lessons in the offseason.
    (I’m serious)
Love his work around the net….but he looks like Big Bird on skates at times.

  106. avatar Islander505 says:

let’s get Bergie a hat trick…empty netter please.

  107. avatar TuxTax says:

Who had the last Islander HatTrick?

  108. avatar Joe says:

Can someone teach these guys to not flip the puck over the glass

  109. avatar Chris TMC says:

Re (103): I think they were alreay on pace for way more than that… even before we heard this unfortunate news about Trent.

  110. avatar Sumo Goalie says:

I hope the Isles re-sign Tim Jackman. He’s made a fine addition to the 4th line. He brings size, toughness, and a bit of a touch around the net. Plus he isn’t that old so he fits in with what Snow wants to do (not that I or anyone else has a clue to what goes through his mind).

I do like that we get to see more of the boys from Bridgeport and some of these guys look like keepers. I wouldn’t mind seeing Trevor Smith up again to see what he can do offensively either.

  111. avatar TuxTax says:

    YEAAAHHHHHHHH BERGIEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  112. avatar Andrew says:

    HAT TRICK!

  113. avatar Joe says:

    YEAH BERGIE!

  114. avatar Jamerson says:

That was probably the most exciting empty net goal I’ve seen.

  115. avatar TuxTax says:

Happiest I have ever seen Gordon!

  116. avatar Chris TMC says:

    HATTRICK! YESSSSSSSS BERGIE! :D :D :D

  117. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

    What a frickn goalllllllll Bergy!!!

  118. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

empty net or not … he threaded the needle with pressure … he earned that one.

  119. avatar Bri on LI says:

This is why I’m an islanders fan…

.7 seconds left!?! I don’t care if we finish second to last by one point, I’ll take this win every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

  120. avatar Bri on LI says:

And I’ll join the “Sign Tim Jackman” petition. And I’ll add Dean Mac to that list as well, I think he wants to play hard for this team.

  121. avatar nystrom23 says:

All i can say is if this team can play like this next season and adds two or three guys….this will be a playoff team…they really are starting to come together

  122. avatar TIM says:

I’m so happy for BERGY he skated hard and worked hard he deserved it NICE GAME BOY’S the best of the year in my opinion

  123. avatar Bri on LI says:

Last thing. I’m sad to hear Hunter’s out for the season, but as long as it’s not a DP-style three season fiasco, I can live with it. The call ups seem to understand this is a legitimate audition for a solid NHL roster spot. Keep bringing ‘em up, if one of the kids stinks, and loses us a game… so what? Let ‘em loose!

  124. avatar Mark says:

Best game of the year! Great game Bergie, Go Islander’s Mark

  125. avatar Staten Islander says:

!st ever post here. I think it was howie that pointed out that since the win against anahiem, they are 1 game over .500. GREAT win. !st time I’ve seen Gordon smile

  126. avatar Islander505 says:

These kids are playing well enough right now to put the Tavares Bowl in doubt.
Granted they have a very difficult schedule the rest of the way, but the way they have been playing in the last 10 days is VERY IMPRESSIVE.

Maybe it’s time to start calling up some Utah Grizzlies.

  127. avatar valentino says:

Stay the course…..TAVARES IS A MUST…there can be no doubts….

  128. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

Hey Staten Islander … former Staten Islander here … yeah .. 1+ over .500 since Anaheim is impressive … and scary if it takes us out of the TavHed sweepstakes… which I think is still possible … To me the Isles are the best of the celler dwellers since the AS Break.

Even being around a .500 team … a .500 team doesn’t sniff the playoffs in this league. Look at TO … they are .500 and 9 points out at this time in this shootout / OT loss point a game league. But gotta be happy with the Isles play with the kiddie corps taking charge.

  129. I like McAmmond’s play. He’s quick, and he has been productive. I was on the fence about awarding Jackman any kind of extensions, but I like his effort, and what he does with his limited ice time. I really wish Cairns would teach him how to fight, though.

Great game today. If the team loses the rest of the games, I am glad for any wins against the Devils, or the Rags.

Sad that Hunter is out for the rest of the season, but at least the team can continue to test some AHL blood. Hope Trent makes a quick recovery for next season. The Islanders need to find a new captain now with Guerin on the Pens, Witt out until Tuesday, and Hunter done for the season. I wonder who the next captain will be.

  130. avatar JayK says:

I just don’t agree with the “one win over .500″ math. If you’re 9-8-2, it means that in the last 19 games, you skated off as the loser 10 times, and the winner 9 times. If the 2 represented ties, like in the old days, than OK. But they don’t.

It’s a solid turnaround from where they were when this run started, but I disagree that it’s over .500.

  131. avatar Strummer's Army says:

BERGIE! I got such a great laugh the way he got his hat trick. Great move putting it through Shannahan’s leg and great shot on a horrible angle with less then a second!

A couple guys gave Mottau some shots but it wasn’t enough. I was hoping Mottau would try something when he and Josennu tied up in front of the Devs net but that isn’t his style (being honorable and manning up). Interesting the Ref looked right at the play as Neilsen was sticked in the face with no call. Later when Tambs hit Mottau after Mottau fell a penalty but when Clarckson intentionally came in on a down Jackman and hit him in the head no call.

Nice to see Tambs enjoying success, Bergy, passes from Bailey like we haven’t seen on this team since I can’t remember when.

Hillen and Callahan are impressive. With Hunter out I’d like to see Rechielz until some other players come back healthy.

So many positives. I am all for winning the first overall pick. In fact, I believe it to be crucial. However, after NJ pulled the cheap shot crap earlier in the year it is sweet revenge to roll the score up on them and see Brent Sutter so upset.

  132. avatar Strummer's Army says:

They won’t name a captain until next year. The next captain might not even be on the roster.

Jackman is the new Scatchard. Definitely a keeper. Bergie with another good game, and we chased ‘Fatso’. Beautiful

The new Scatchard? Scatchard scored 27 goals one year for the Isles. No way do I ever see that happening for Jackman.

JayK (130): I get what you are saying JayK, but consider this: 500 would mean you have the same number of points as you have had games. In “the old days” if you had 20 points in 19 games, that is not a losing record- and that part is the same as now.

Its the way scores are kept and referred to now- you dont like it, plenty of people dont like it, but it is just the way it is.

  136. avatar JayK says:

That’s an interesting definition of .500. I can accept that.

Its the way I have rationalized it for myself… it bugged me too til I thought about it that way. :)

What a day! Caught the Isles beatdown of the Devils and even posted from the game after Tamby’s goal. Nice job boarding Mottau as well. Way to go Bergie, also Iggy called up and #2 star. He played a great game. After the game drove up to Bridgeport to catch the Sound Tigers against the Phantoms (those Phantom purple unis are just the coolest). Tigers came back from down 2-0 to get to OT. Jon Sim scored one goal and Tyler Haskins the other. In the AHL the penalties in OT are only 1 minute. Not a bad idea. In the end the Tigers won 3-1 in the shootout. As the callups filter back to Bridgeport and adding KO and Comeau for the playoffs in going to make the Tigers a real hard out. Lots of fun, see everyone Tuesday.

    Gary…

There is NO WAY that Comeau or KO are going to Bport at the end of the season.
    (Or jackman or Bailey)

And I am beginning to have my doubts about Tambellini….the kid has been shutting my yap lately.

    Bet the ranch on it.
