LIGHTHOUSE OUTREACH PRIMER
Updates, advice and opinions on tonight’s meeting

by admin on March 26th, 2009 at 10:22 am

The PB Inbox has received more than a few “tips” that representatives from the Town of Hempstead may attend tonight’s Lighthouse outreach at the Long Island Marriott. If they do, the worst thing that could happen is if they are booed and shouted over.

For anything positive to come out of tonight, attention and respect must be paid to all speakers. Even with Kate Murray’s absence, if any TOH leaders have the grace and wisdom to come – and perhaps even speak – they should be applauded. As a note of trivia, Hempstead attorney Joseph Ra happens to be a huge Islanders fan.

*

The Lighthouse Development Corporation has been very tight-lipped about tonight’s format, even to the blogger who has pumped the event every day for a week while Newsday opted not to publish any advance coverage. What we know is there will be addresses from Charles Wang, Scott Rechler and Tom Suozzi.

It is our hope that Wang, Rechler and Suozzi push this story forward, tell us something we don’t already know. On March 10, the Nassau County Executive said he was negotiating a new lease with Wang and Rechler and not waiting for Town of Hempstead approval. The possible announcement of details of a new lease would be something to leave with tonight.

Besides the developers and Suozzi, all community leaders – that’s PR-speak for politicians – will have a chance to address the crowd. This is when, hopefully, a TOH representative will take the floor. Union leaders may also have their say. Just as important, all members of the public will have the opportunity to have their voices heard. The best way to guarantee your turn at the microphone is to sign up before 7:00 pm.

*

Suggestion: If you decide to speak and are a resident of the Town of Hempstead, it would be a good idea to let everyone in the room know that you have a vote in the next election.

I don’t know if I’m going to speak, but I am a TOH resident. So consider this my notice.

*

As has been discussed at length in the PB Comments section, anyone attending is best-served representing themselves as a citizen first and Islanders fan second.

That said, this is not Halloween. Come as you are. If more than anything else you care about the Islanders, I’m not about to tell you to hide that. I’m sure the developers and politicians will appreciate anyone who brings their passion to the room tonight.

*

Speaking of which, we all know some. My lone sibling is one. What a powerful statement it would be if some Rangers fans – TOH or Nassau residents, ideally – joined their friends at the event tonight. After all, people from across all aisles are going to be in attendance. Since this just cannot be about politics, there’s plenty of room for Blue and Red.

We all know how much Rangers fans would miss the Islanders and the Springsteen concerts and the family shows. If you’re close with any Rangers fans, bring them. We’ll make sure the Rangers-Thrashers game is on one of the screens at Champions at the Marriott.

By the way, I’ll probably have a pre-event drink at Champions around 6:30 pm. If you are a reader, please say hello.

Comments on tonight’s meeting and the arena issue only in this thread. Some scrappy hockey, toughness and goal song talk continues below.

What time should we show up tonight to get a good seat? Is the crowd expected to be several thousand strong?

  3. avatar nystrom23 says:

Wish I could be there tonight… I hope alot of light gets shed on everything and peoples legitimate concerns are answered so that the TOH and most importantly the islanders can move in the right direction with this… I’m sure you will have a big write up about this tomrrow CB

  4. avatar Mike from Philly says:

Has there been any news on possible reps from Queens showing up to this meeting?

  5. avatar KO21 says:

I have been talking about my conversation with John Ra and he said to me that he is a season ticket holder. He was blaming the county for dragging their feet and that they have handed there part to them on a “silver platter”. Also defended Murrays excuse for not attending the meetings and for not making her opinion regarding the project known. He said she would he liable to law suits with the towns.

  6. avatar kevin fitz says:

Great point about having Ranger fans show up and show their support. Isles/Rangers is one of the best rivalries in all of sports. As much as both sides despise each other, we both know that having the other one there makes being fans better.

  7. avatar Tom says:

#4 – I was just going to ask that. It would be great for Community leaders from Queens to attend. This way Islander fans have a better idea on what’s what, the LH in the middle of nowhere, with zero public transportation access or a beautiful HUB/Sports complex in Queens.

My hope is the Isles move to Queens. Build the monstrosity without the Isles has been my take since Queens came into the picture.

  8. avatar Jim says:

Totally agree CB that we need to be respectful. If it becomes a circus that’s bad, they certainly would not show up to future meetings. It is OK to respectfully disagree, lets all remember to “play nice”, be clear about our position in a way that shows us in a positive light.

I have been having an ongoing dialog with TOH and they told me yesterday that they were NOT planning on attending and supported Murrays posistion. I made some recommendations to them and they seemed to be open to them. I’ll have to see if they act on them.

  9. CB – I’m looking forward to this evening. I have not decided yet if I am going to sign up to speak (Not a ToH resident). See you at Champions

  10. avatar pablo says:

Wait a second! Charles Wang has made this an Islanders Issue (Moving the Team,Free Agents wont play here,The Building is falling apart)and you CB say “anyone attending is best-served representing themselves as a citizen first and Islanders fan second”
The only Reason Most of these Fans are going and supporting the LightHouse is because of the Islanders.
Boy what a Smoke screen!….you will probably delete this!

  11. avatar Pete M says:

People need to get over this whole Queens thing. Its not going to happen. If you think the Evil Empire known as the Dolan family is going to sit idly by and allow a competing arena to be built a short subway ride from Madison Square Garden you are absolutely crazy. They spent millions bankrolling the opposition to the upper west side stadium/convention center and they will do the same with a Willets Point arena. Losing 8 Islander games a year will mean a lot less to them than the revenue that that venue would take away the rest of the year.

  12. avatar Moose says:

If Villanova wasn’t in the sweet 16 I would be there…give em hell CB, Nick, and crew

  13. avatar Brett says:

    CB,

You probably would have mentioned this if it was going to happen, but is there any chance of a webcast for tonight’s event?

  14. avatar Tom says:

Dolan can’t do anything. Queens CAN happen. Without a DOUBT. If Charlie thinks he can make KC happen he’d be stupid not to look at the best choice for the Islanders…Queens.

There’s nothing the Dolan’s can do either. Dolans would make problems if the Isles were looking to build something 2 blocks from MSG…like the Jets were. 15 miles away in Queens? They’ll do nothing.

  15. avatar Chris TMC says:

Hey Pablo, I think you have to read what he said again because you dont seem to be taking it all in. CB seems to have made the point numerous times that he feels there is no reason to hide your fan loyalty, he just (correctly IMO) thinks that it is wise for people to go in remembering their own power as voters. what are you complaining about???

BTW The “you will probably delete this” thing is getting tired. I see it typed often lately and if Im seeing it, then obviously its not happening is it!

  16. avatar JayK says:

Neil Best wrote about the Dolans and the Islanders’ possible move a few months back. He said the Dolans would not be in favor of a move, because it is important to them to have a strong Islanders team to help sell packages that include Fox Sports. That trumps any concerns they would have in other areas.

  17. avatar MadDog says:

I hope Fans support the Lighthouse by Wearing your Islanders Colors because that’s why we are supporting it and we don’t want the Islanders to move as Charles Wang is Threating!
It is not because the Lighthouse will put money in our pockets, our Taxes will more than likely go up because of it!
So go and support your Islanders so they don’t get moved !

  18. avatar pablo says:

Hey Chris, i feel different this is about our opinions and feelings toward our threatend organization! What is wise is expressing the truth why we fans are their, all the rest is Wangs prize!

  19. avatar Macch says:

Does it look bad to show up after 7? Tough to get there before with work

  20. avatar Pete M says:

The money that Cablevision would lose if the Islanders move would be minimal compared to what they would lose to a competing arena inside the city limits. They will pump money into the coffers of all those businesses that still have to be moved out of Willets Point to help them fight it. And if you think they’re above greasing politicians you’re a bit naive.

  21. avatar JayK says:

MadDog, I don’t know how turning a sea of asphalt into housing and office space using private capital causes taxes to go up. By that logic, tearing buildings down should make taxes drop.

  22. avatar bergie20 says:

tonight should be very interesting especially if reps from the toh and queens show up!

  23. avatar Chris TMC says:

:D Pablo, youre right that there is nothing wrong with expressing the truth of why we are there… I just dont think CB (or anyone else here) said otherwise. The thing is, part of the truth youre referring to is that a lot of us are indeed TOH residents and registered voters, and this is a huge issue to us and it will affect the votes of many of us. I know it will certainly affect mine!

  24. avatar Marc from Troy says:

Moose (12)… Villanova/Duke isn’t even scheduled for tipoff until 9:57pm. Odds of game starting before 10pm are remote, at best. LH meeting is at 7pm. If you can get there, please go and give ‘em hell for those of us who can’t be there.

  25. avatar Valentino says:

Does anything ever come easy to this franchise?

Must everything be an emotionally exhausting process?

  26. avatar alex says:

yea i wish i could go to this, but i have a 8 o clock flight back from boston so im gonna miss it, but i agree with marc if u are able to go , GO!

  27. avatar Marty says:

I will be there. I know “eye on the island” is going to be there as well. He should meet me at the lighthouse.

  28. avatar John Keitz says:

Always count on the Dolans to be juvenile. At this time, they are withholding all high definition broadcasts from NHL Center Ice over a dispute they lost against the NHL over their website. Fans pay for the Dolans’ immaturity. What makes you think they would not sacrifice the fans once again if it meant a hit to their bottom line.

I like the Queens idea too, but I wouldn’t trust the Dolans to get out of the way any further than I can throw them (out of the way)!

  29. avatar art says:

I think the key tonight is Charles Wang. He got to where he is today by being smart. Its like poker we all know whats showing only he know whats in his turned down cards. Tonight I think he’ll turn over at least one and then some real money and not talk will show. I think we are coming to the end of the game there are only a few more hands left to be dealt the other side will have to put up and show there cards or MR Wang is going to leave!

  30. avatar Tom says:

    #25 – Short answer to your 2nd Q? Yes!

But, there’s a shortcut to progress. God helps those who help themsleves. The Islanders organeyezation needs to hold themselves accountable for the mess THEY created. Not just Charlie, many owners BEFORE him, way before him were imbeciles as well.

IF Islander owners past, present & the future one…if any of them made Islander Hockey THE #1 priority, success is EASY. Once the Islanders stop blaming others for being a failure, they’ll be on their way. Kate Murray is the least of Charlie’s problems.

  31. avatar Jim from St James says:

Does anybody know what Bloomberg thinks of the Isles moving to queens? He is the main reason that the Dolans have not been able to get the City/State to re-build MSG. If I remember correctly the Dolans had a sweetheart deal from Rudy, but Bloomberg squashed it as soon as he got into office. because, rightly so, the city/state should not have to foot the bill for MSG when the dolans reep most of the profits their. I think he’d be open to a plan where Wang & Co foot most of the bill ( unlike the TOH GOP )

  32. avatar Marc from Troy says:

Wow. Who knew. Apparently there’s been a lot of wasted time and money all these years when Tom had all of the answers all along.

Let’s just call off tonight’s meeting, then, and maybe someone can instead track down John Spano to ask him if he’s really, really sorry for what he did. Who knew the answers could be found in the past? Who knew success could be this EASY?

  33. avatar Jim from St James says:

#30 would you like to see wang get 50 lashes? Or maybe Milbury beat with a shoe? ( line starts here )
Their is plenty of blame to go around here, from Gulotta to Maloney, but the point is that anyone who can come up with 150 Mil is, and needs to be, a businessman first. A sports franchise is a business first, and needs to be treated as such, Ask youself this, assuming you are an average guy, would you spend, say 50,ooo out of pocket to build a rink for the neiborhood kids out of the kindness of your heart? Probably not.

  34. avatar West Coast Fan says:

For those of us who can’t venture the 2500 miles or so it would take to be at the meeting, any chance someone might be able to videotape it and post it somewhere? Just a thought…

  35. avatar Mark says:

Looking forward to seeing you tonight Chris, it should be interesting. Thanks Chris, Mark/NJ, “Go NY Islander’s”

  36. avatar Pat says:

Chris, my wife who has had no choice but to became an Islander fan because of me, will be there tonight along with myself. I’ll stop in to Champions tonight to say hello. I’m hoping we get some positive news tonight.

  37. avatar ken says:

too bad they can’t get Boomer to show.

  38. avatar Mikey says:

Both my mom and pops are going to be there. Unfortunately, I live 1000 miles away, so I can’t make it. (I am one of the many twenty somethings who left the Island for better job opps and lower cost of living.)

Will ToH GOP leader/Kate Murray puppetmaster Joe Mondello be there? I doubt it. The Nassau GOP refuses to take a position on this issue, due to lack of vision and stunning incompetence.

  39. avatar C. Felix says:

I can’t go tonight (since I live in Raleigh) but please,
    -Be respectful!

I asking you, please, if someone from the ToH speaks, do not boo them, do not question their parentage…

    Just let them speak.

  40. avatar Darren says:

A News 12 broadcast would be perfect!

  41. avatar isles316 says:

Agree with #39. Be respectful to each speaker. Booing, or heckling or whatever brings nothing but more negative sentiments. We don’t need that.

  42. avatar JayK says:

We won’t boo. But we might murmur in a distinctly negative manner.

  43. avatar Isles4cups says:

Tom (#30) – How many major sports franchise owners make the team they own their first priority?

  44. avatar Tom says:

    #43 The ones that win.

Look at the perennial playoff/Championship contenders in any sport. Quality ownership should not be discounted. Without good ownership some teams can go 9 years without accomplishing anything of value, some can go even longer than that!

Certainly most owners can multi-task, many of them were billionaires before they bought their toys. BUT if Jerry Jones was owner of the Islanders, you think we’re in 30th place? AFTER 9 years? Solid ownership is important. Brains & Ambition. A good owner has both & knows how to use them!

  45. avatar eye on the island says:

i think assumption that the dolans would bankrol an opposition of the move to queens is way off base.

the reason why they opposed the west side stadium is because it would take away from the other(non sports) activities that the garden hosts.

the islanders moving to queens would not take away from that-and if i remmember correctly someone pointed out that once they paid the territorial fee they could move anywhere they wanted.

  46. avatar admin says:

    (44) Of all the examples you could have chosen, you picked Jerry Jones? Cowboys haven’t won a playoff game in 13 years. 24 NFL teams have won at least one since that time. Huge payroll and ownership involvement, and they haven’t won jack.

    (4) Haven’t heard anything about Queens people showing up.

    (13) I’m not aware of Islanders TV webcasting it.

    (19) I’d expect the event to run til at least 9 pm. No problem showing up after 7.

    (1) No idea about crowd size, but it’s not going to be several thousand strong. If it was, they wouldn’t have it in a hotel ballroom. Several hundred, maybe.

Depending on the wireless avail at the Marriott, I’ll have a story either during or soon after the event…CB

  47. avatar doc says:

    To the many mis-informed:

Charles Wang has NOT threatened to move the Islanders.

He does however, need to know where HIS team will play ITS’ HOME GAMES in the future. And he needs to know relatively soon.

That is far from a threat. That’s called stating a FACT!!!

    DOC

  48. avatar Willis says:

I hope we do learn something tonight. I wish I could have come out to LI for this one but it looks like there will be a bunch of us here waiting for word from y’all later.
Also want to echo the people asking all to be respectful – murmurs only sounds good!

  49. avatar coolhndluke says:

Agree with Pablo, this is as much about the Islanders and Islander fans as it has anything to do with being a good citizen. Give me a break. Stating to act otherwse is disingenuous and indeed a smokescreen. These folks aren’t stupid you know, they can see the VAST outpouring of popular support is due to the Islanders staying in Nassau.

Wera your jerseys folks and wear ‘em proud, who knows how many more years you will be wearing them.

  50. avatar Brian From Jersey says:

What a mess…. why couldn’t I be a Devils fan??? We want answers and info tonight so please be respectful….

  51. avatar JPinVA says:

    Good luck tonight.
If Jerry Jones owned the Islanders Sean Avery would be the captain of the team, and Kyle Okposo would be dating Jessica Beale… but they’d still probably be in last place.

  52. avatar Blizzard says:

The only problem I have with Wang as an owner is how long he let Milbury destroy this franchise. Good work CB. To all attending tonight I appluad you. I cant make it but I will be there in spirit. If any Rags fans show up act with class. Hardcore Ranger fans know that even though they hate us, with out us they lose a major rivalry. They are gonna look stupid saying “Potvin sucks” if the Islanders arent even around.

  53. avatar Pete M says:

#45-How would an arena in Queens NOT take away from the Garden? They’d be in direct competition for ALL non-sports activities. That’s exactly why they would oppose it.

  54. avatar Spartiarti - RVC says:

What i find so funny is .Nassau county says its TOH and TOH saying its Nassau County.

Fact is anything town or county related is always stupid and drawn out.

Tonight will be total waste of time. I thought about going but rather just see the 500 words summary by botta.

  55. avatar michael says:

if kate murray wants to play games.. ok.. lets play games!! see ya in november at the polls!!

  56. avatar Tom says:

I was going to say Steinbrenner, but then Mets fans would be pissed, same with if I said the Wilpons.

And let’s keep in mind, Jerry Jones got 3 Super Bowl rings. Come on. PLUS, get a load of this…the NFL is CELEBRATING his 20 years as an Owner. One year from today it’ll be 10 years for Charlie, 10 years of failure. Jerry Jones, is 3 times the owner Charlie will EVER be. And I hate the Cowboys! Jerry Jones. Bad example? Not after 3 Super Bowls. Believe me, if Cha-lootz ever wins 3 Cups in his lifetime you have my word, I’ll kiss his ass in NVMC parking lot or willets point. Whichever!

But again, look at perennial Playoff/Championship contenders in any sport. Ownership, it’s important to have a good one. Oh & wouldn’t know, Jerry Jones also has the ability to build a new Stadium. 3 SB’s & a new Stadium. Jerry can buy my Islanders any day he wants. Any day he wants.

  57. avatar Spartiarti - RVC says:

sorry i hit submit. I know Wang wants to keep isles here for sure. Its his Baby.

I Noticed when working with town, you have to persist as hell b/c they are all lazy civil servants. They make the same money whether they work or not work.

So the more serious they feel he is about leaving, they more likely they are to approve project. TOH is very good at suggesting how you going to spend your own money. Truth is its not there money. So either approve it or give a good reason why it cant work.

Traffic is total BS excuse. It takes me 15 mins to get out of coloseum and get home to Rockville Centre, What with lighthouse it suddenly going to be 2 hrs? give me a break.

  58. avatar mrlbem says:

There are some pro sports teams that have a reputation that way exceeds their actual historical performance. In hockey, the Rangers immediately come to mind. Their fans walk around as if the team was hockey’s version of the Yankees. At least in terms of recent history, the Cowboys certainly compare to the Rangers. Why anyone would single out Jerry Jones as an example of a good owner is beyond me as well.

  59. avatar Ed J says:

This goes alot further then Islander Hockey. Yes we all love our team but think about the impact this project would have just on the fact of the INCREASE of jobs. Look around NYC and anywhere that is holding a job convention, there is a line around blocks for people looking for a way to feed their familes or loved ones.

Cooler heads need to be at this meeting and PLEASE do not make this hockey game. Charles Wang has put alot money into this for Long Island, let him & his team speak about this & get the word out.

  60. avatar IslesPassion21 says:

I have to withdraw from todays meeting due to car problems, I live in Lake Grove so I will definatly get to the meeting scheduled for April in Smithtown…That could be an issue to bring up during the meeting, the “transportation issue”…

  61. avatar nhlfan says:

    TOm,

You are way off base. Since Jones and his ego took over the Cowboys they have not done anything but spend money and lose.

  62. avatar Marc from Troy says:

You’re wasting your time arguing with Tom. He knows all. I mean, how are you supposed to refute logic supported by name calling? Cha-lootz! Priceless.

All the best to everyone who will be making it to the meeting tonight. Looking forward to updates later on.

  63. avatar jay says:

I can’t make it tonight. But. let’s hope this goes well. Otherwise we might have to run a get Kate Murray out of office in November campaign.

  64. avatar Jill says:

Wish I could be there…good luck.

  65. avatar upstatenyifan says:

Living in Albany, I do not see the Lighthouse project as my fight, but I do support it. I think this type of project can help the economy of the whole state, with construction jobs in the short term, and over the long run with the permanent jobs that may eventually be created. The fact that the Islanders can benefit as well is purely a bonus. I sure would be nice to drive down to see the Islanders play and not have seek out other venues for entertainment after the game. Good Luck, I hope this gets done.

  66. avatar 19 ISLE in NJ 22 says:

Good Luck tonight guys n gals … I’m with ya 1000% … wish I could go out there myself … not to talk … but to listen … Most of you post exactly what I feel so I feel my feelings will be well represented.

Ironically tonight I am playing hockey in a rink that fogs up in a drizzle … so tonight ought to be a classic London Fog … a Fog seems appropriate because it seems there is a Fog on this whole project … hopefully tongiht’s public outreach meeting will lift some of the Fog in the way of information to the public and fans.

  67. avatar SIR WILLIAM says:

Without Kate Murray attending, this is an exercise in futility. Lots of hot air and righteous indignation. The very loyal Tom Souzzi will be there to show voters just how much he loves Long Island. The same Fleeing Tom, who as soon as he could, ran for Governor, tried to become the new LT Gov., asked to be the replacement senator for Hillary and would do just about anything to move into a new position.

And now he will save the Islanders. My hero……….SW

  68. avatar IslesPassion21 says:

I don’t think this meeting will bring anything of substance to light…Hate to say this but Mr Murray’s “pep rally” description isn’t way off the mark…They are getting together to talk about the MERITS of the project…So fans don’t need to get worked up for nothing…

  69. avatar DM says:

As someone with some access to inside info as a result of my work let me say that the TOH is very much in favor of the LH project. They’d be crazy not to be. The tax revenue generated and the political careers at stake should the Islanders walk are the biggest reasons. And yes it’s true, Kate Murray can’t show up or present an opinion on any of it while the EIS review is still pending. The issue that no one involved (and believe me, every well connected individual is in on this project) wants to touch is traffic. That part of the county hasn’t met federal air standards in decades. What would 20,000 more cars (almost every day of the week with games, concerts, etc) do to the already most congested part of the County? That’s the real question and the County has been dragging their feet on a transportation study. Some form of mass transportation in and out of the area is what’s needed and it is not on the table to be discussed. The County dropped the idea of a study two years ago with no talk of revisiting it.

  70. avatar richie66 says:

I’m currently sitting at the meeting, glad I got here early as its just now starting to get full, looks about 500 seats in total, maybe 100+ seats left open. Lots of vets showed up, as well as union officials. Looks to be a packed house when this starts in hopefully 5 minutes

  71. avatar alex says:

someone try to keep the rest of us updated!

  72. avatar richie66 says:

Still hasn’t started, luckly they took one of the side walls away to reveal another 200 seats, lots of people standing around. Some of the politicans looks as if they have some make-up on, guess they want to look good for the news crews.

  73. avatar Jimmy Sparx says:

Sitting here waiting for the meeting to start. Nice size crowd. Also sitting about 5 feet from CB who has his laptop ready to go to provide updates.

  74. avatar Moose says:

    PACK DAT BUILDING!

Good stuff Richie, please keep us up to date.

  75. avatar richie66 says:

T-minus 2 minutes until it starts, people were told to take their seats, packed house!!

  76. avatar TM says:

Richie is da man. So is Jimmy. Any updates are appreciated.

  77. avatar Staten Islander says:

Give’em Hell Richie. do us proud!

  78. avatar richie66 says:

    Bossy in da house!!

  79. avatar richie66 says:

Standing Ovation for wang when he walked in

  80. avatar richie66 says:

Wang siad the #1 question he is asked is why it hasn’t started it…. Didn’t give an answer though???

  81. avatar richie66 says:

Main developer now talking, saying its urgent to get project done and quickly

  82. avatar richie66 says:

Souzzi now talking, saying typical politican stuff (how great it is here) but addressing problems (taxes, lack of growth). So far nothing new than hasn’t already been said

  83. avatar richie66 says:

Wang addressing and thanking all people involved, name by name, I guess knowing lots of media here and wants to give his thanks,Bobby Ny in the house as well. Excuse any typo as I’m writing on a blackberry. Lots of names he is reading, so far very informal meeting

  84. avatar richie66 says:

Watching a video now on the history of the land, was told it will be 6 minutes and will start the QnA afterwards

  85. avatar richie66 says:

Videos looks real good, makes we want to live there

  86. avatar richie66 says:

QnA starts with oldest man in the room (92yrs old) demanding why it hasn’t started, wang replied that is he knew he would be president (not what I was looking for). Now another important question: what happens if it doesn’t get approved..souzzi answers that it would be tough to keep the islanders (yikes)

  87. avatar TM says:

    Richie Rich!

  88. avatar richie66 says:

Traffic being discussed, souzzi want people to not drive ther, but rather take a shuttle from mineola train station…is there even enough parking there??

  89. avatar richie66 says:

Question being asked what more you and me can do? Wang says to continue to stay connected, talk to others and get everyone informed, the more people behind this the more pressure we can put on our elected officials

  93. avatar richie66 says:

Another dope asks for everyone to stand if they want the project, little did he know that there are a bunch of old people here who had some trouble getting up quick enough, could of just asked people to raise their hands, some people here you can tell like to hear themselves talk

Looking around the room I am very dissappointed on the age range here. A lot of middle age to seniors, would have been better to the future of the island more represented

  97. avatar richie66 says:

Oh a side note..boy are there some attractive women here

  98. avatar richie66 says:

Sounds like they are getting towards the end, there will be side rooms set up for people with specific question, this way they can ask a person who is more involved with that situation (ie parking, sports technology, transit)

  99. avatar richie66 says:
