COMEAU, DiBO, COLLITON ALL IN FOR GAME 4
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at Bridgeport, 7:05 pm

A must-win for the Sound Tigers tonight is now an even more compelling watch for Islanders fans. NHLer Blake Comeau makes an early return from a banged-up wrist, Jeremy Colliton - one of Bridgeport’s MVPs - is off the injury list, and Islanders prospect Justin DiBenedetto has his Connecticut premiere after a good showing in WB-S on Sunday in his pro debut. Comment on this here, Tavehduchmania in the next thread.

  2. 2 Eric

    Will you be there?

  3. 3 JayK

I think the video of all games is streamed on theahl.com…no fee for it.

  4. 4 Cruicky

2 more for Sim tonight, Bridge wins 5-2.

  5. 5 UIF

With these three in, any word on who sits?

  6. 6 Spartiarti - RVC

i with with injuries to Iggluden and okposo leaving for Worlds, there are spots for them already.

Colliton and Comeau are some of the best guys on team. Tons of guys that can sit.

all three of these guys provide major talent increase. I Really would like to see Colliton do well. I think he will be perfect 4th line center and PK for us next year. He is huge upgrade over Hilbert.

$8 to listen and $40 to watch on ahl.com…BOO

I wish I could watch somewhere but either way lets hope for win.

  8. 8 mike

    Is the game a sellout?

  9. 9 nyi3139

It is free to listen to the radio feed and $8 to watch just the one game. It is $40 if you want to watch the rest of the playoffs, just like on NHL.com. Let’s go Tigers!

on a different note….i recently had a chance to have a casual chat with Leg. Peter Schmitt (R-Massapequa)who is a long time member of the Nassau County Legislature. When I asked what was going on with the Lighthouse Project he answered “nothing”. Later I asked if the threat of losing the Islanders would impact the project he told me that “if the Islanders move, they move”. He also put most of the blame for the delay on Charles Wang and his team for “dreaming too big” for Nassau County…I know this doesn’t pertain to this topic but I figured everybody needed to know what and how our local politicians feel about the Islanders, their fans, and the Lighthouse Project

They gave away free tickets on a 1 for 1 basis, to all season ticket holders for the games that were moved to the island last weekend. They need to come out fast and hard, like they did in the last game against Hershey. They skated fast, good passes, checked hard and won in OT. They need to compensate for Iggy’s injury, getting Comeau and Colliton back is a big plus for us. They also need consistant goaltending, which for most of the year has been strong, but they have been giving bad goals at the wrong time!

  12. 12 RAmen

Yeah, they’ve had great goaltending for long stretches, but not this series…yet. LEts go Tigers.

As long as there are openings created on the clear-day roster due to injury or illness then players not on the list can play. It is not quite as simple as just sitting anyone on a whim. Okposo was not on the clear-day list but was able to play due to injuries to other players that were on the post-season roster. The vicious elbow that Iggulden took to the head as he crossed the blue line on Saturday has opened anothe spot. CB is there any news on how the young man is doing and if he will be able to play in any other of the Soundtigers upcoming games? I have been to the Arena at Harbor Yards and there are excellent sightlines from throughout the facility. You can take the Port Jeff. Ferry to B’port and walk from the dock to the Arena - it takes about 10 or 15 minutes - just head under the overhead Railroad line and bear to the left.

islesneedtavares #10 — – Oh, God, that’s just about the worst report I’ve heard yet. You can be fairly certain that what he is saying is word-for-word what Kate Murray is saying in private.

What an utter lack of vision. As a registered Republican, I can say that I am ashamed to be part of a party that has its head so far in the past.

Boys: you can kiss this team goodbye. I’m serious. The only hope now is that Kate Murray loses on election day. Peter Schmitt is one of the most powerful Republicans in the county, and if he is saying “if they move, they move,” it is very clear that the political calculation among the Republicans is that they can deflect criticism of the move on to Suozzi and Wang, hold on to the NIMBY vote, and make their way back into power by driving away all the young people and trying to win from a base of their parents left behind. It’s clear: they want the young people out of here.

  15. 15 Matt

silly question but can Charles Wang move the team from the town of hempstead to the town of oyster bay?

  16. 16 JayK

Matt — #15 — Oyster Bay is run by Republicans who are just as NIMBY as Kate Murray or Peter Schmitt.

It’s the Lighthouse or nothing. And based on what I read in post #10, it’s nothing.

Hate to be so defeatist, but if Schmitt is saying that, it means that is the view of the Nassau County Republican Party, and that view is coming straight from Joe Mondello. All Republicans, especially Kate Murray, are expected to sign on to it.

I think about this project relentlessly, and I am ready to throw in the towel. It’s over.

  17. 17 Kevin

As painful as it is. We need closure one way or another. This is brutal.

  18. 18 RobsIsles

CB - Is the Wrecker on the playoff roster for the Tigers? Was at the game Sunday night but do not recall seeing him. Just wondering why he has yet to play. Put him in there to get payback for the hit on Iggy. Still waiting to see what tonights lines look like. Any word yet CB?

  19. 19 mrlbem

Anyone know if Schmitt voted to approve the project when it passed throught the County Leg. by a vote of 16-2?

Should the islanders be forced to ultimately relocate and with their leaving the NVMC lose its primary tenants (Islanders and Dragons) the resultant loss of tax revenue resulting from the vitual abandonment of the building will cause the taxes of ALL TOH residents to rise. Should it come to that the GOP will be done - Tell Mr. Schmidt that the time will have come to put a fork in his political career. That being said can we return this discussion to the topic inherent in this thread.
#18-RobsIsles, the Wrecker is not on the clear-day list (post season roster). while there is an opening for him to play due to a number of injuries (Iggulden, Mclean, Lessard and possibly one or two more) it will be a coaches decision as to whether he plays or not. If you take into consideration that his skill set still needs considerable improvement and that the Soundtigers need players with a bit more polish capable of making a larger contribution on the ice beyond kicking the ever loving bleep out of a particular Baby Penguin it is my take that he will be wearing a suit and watching from the press box tonight - lets save the act of retribution for next season when the game is a little less important. Lets Go Ti-Gers , beat the Pens!!!

  21. 21 Mike from Philly

The Islanders will out of the Nassau Coliseum and Uniondale guaranteed by 2015, we need to hope that they are on their way to Queens not KC.

  22. 22 19 ISLE in NJ 22

That is great … It’s good to see the ST’s are going to be running close to ALL cylinders at home … I’d love to see some of our faves chip in some goals.

So CB? Have you decided to blog from Harbor Yard? Or have you commendeered a fan to give play by play while you work on your next masterpiece?

  23. 23 Strummer's Army

Glad the Tigers are getting those boys back it will only help.

  24. 24 Isles83

Schmitt sounds like a real genius. Who votes for these people anyway. He can follow Kate Murray right out the door. Maybe its time the both of them get real jobs. There should be limits on the number of years people can hold office in Nassau County. Schmitt wouldn’t think Wang’s dream was too big if he was on the payroll. Would he?

  25. 25 drouin

So is PB at the game or what?

  26. 26 Matt

matt gilroy was just on the rangers pre game show. not going to lie, i wish the islanders could wheel in free agents like it’s nothing like the raggies do. sigh..

lets go caps! and sound tigers!

  27. 27 MSA

No need to shoot the messenger, but there is no way that Schmitt and the NC Republicans are going to just kill this, for a power grab, and to kill an opportunity for jobs, all the other benefits, etc. we all know about.

I am a longtime season ticket holder, and would be devastated if we lost the team. Especially after the pains of being a fan, the roller coaster ride of this season, and seasons past, like the good (draft pick) and the bad (coaching/GM revolving door) of the last 25 years….

I think we all have to think of the possibility that a lot of us (myself included) overestimate the broad support of this project. We all want it because it seems to make sense, and we love our team. What if the other hundreds of thousands of residents think it is too much? We wasted millions building the Seaford -Oyster Bay Expressway, which was supposed to connect to a bridge over the sound to Connecticut. It was killed, after people lost their homes to eminent domain and it was built for nothing. Maybe it relieves some traffic, but we didn’t need an expressway less then a mile from the Wantagh Parkway.

My point is Wang better use some of that business magic to scale down to where he can still make money, but not run into the “overdevelopment paranoia” that has always been systemic in NC……or we can waive goodbye. And unless Queens will give him free rent, say hello to KC……
