As I said yesterday, he spoke out about the way things were going defensively… and the coach respected what he said, listened to him, made adjustments, and Witt said that was what he wanted. But you just continue to tell yourself that didnt happen. You base your opinions on speculating gossip from articles, and I dont. The fact that you tell me to ” continue to tell yourself it is not true” proves that my response to you did not sink in. Please reread (or read) my response right above regarding sweeping statements vs what is presented as a possibility… if you still dont understand what I said I guess thats that, because there is no clearer way of explaining. you will continue to dream up that I am “tell yourself it is not true” because no amount of explaining can make someone understand what they refuse to let sink in. Ummm…Witt did speak out against the system. Campoli has been in the league for 4 years, he is a vet. Others here have stated the same things that I have said. But you just continue to tell yourself it is not true. lol!!
The articles about Gordon’s problems with some vets where clear enough for most people to understand.

Steve- Witt has stated that he does not and has not had a problem with the coach, he was frustrated with how things were going defensively. Thats Witts own clarifications right there. And Campoli is NOT a vet, so that does not support this vet theory.

Regardless- you think that unspoken presumed “problems” with Guerin and Sim imply some inherent problem with vets and good for you. I dont see how this is necessarily true. I never even said he was NOT TRUE, I just said that there is no evidence of it to assume and make bold sweeping statements about the way the coach is with Vets. I can just as easily point to more vets than you have who have emphatically stated their approval of the way Gordon has handled things. Fact is, what you are pointing to is just as likely to have been caused, as I said, because of diminishing ice time/roles. It is another possibility, and was pointed out NOT as a sweeping statement but simply AS a possibility. You youself can think whatever you want, believe you know exactly whats what, go ahead- I however am not going to buy into extrapolations and assumptions and call them facts. What is so hard about THAT for YOU to understand? Sheesh.

I find your post confusing. First off I said it was NOT like it was some super-secret club meeting. And yes, I do think a rookie head coach was having a meeting less then half way through the season and figured the vets didn’t need to come because he didn’t want to bore them- but that is not my personal speculation, I think that is what happened because that is what Gordon said. I have no personal need to extrapolate or read into a meeting or make further assumptions about it, and I honestly dont see what is “lol” about that.

My guess is that players with diminishing ice time and less of a pivotal role on a team are not happy… whether they are vets or not. I think that was the key more than anything else.

As far as that meeting thing went, I remember Gordon saying that was overstated- he was simply having a meeting with rookies and kids so that the vets were not bored hearing things they already knew. It wasnt like it was some super-secret club meeting or something lol.

There is an obvious problem betweem Gordon and Sim.
There was a difference of opinion between Witt and Gordon.
I don’t agree or disagree with your stance on the matter.That being said I don’t know what went wrong,but the relationship between some of the players and the coach was strained.

37 Will C: Even if that is true (and Im not saying youre wrong, it might be- though I dont see this quote youre speaking of anywhere) I still dont see how a situation with one person necessarily leads to the leap of vets in general having a problem with a coach. I wish you could see that Im not saying things are either way, Im saying that we do not have the information to make such a statement either way. There is a difference.

So… Gordon will be an assistant at the World Championships? That is still an honor and Im happy for him.
