” I am all for you putting in your “resignation”.
Mr Charles Wang has been nothing but a saint for saving the Islanders franchise…He was promised if he bought the franchise and kept them on Long Island they would rebuild the area…He has lost 20 million a year every year since he purchased the team and I am thankful to him…If he has to remove the team from Long Island it will be your fault Mrs Murray…That petition is a blatant attempt to screw over Mr. Wang…I have plenty of reasons to support this project…Most importantly, It will help stimulate our economy but you just don’t care, you make enough money so why would you be concerned about Long Islands poverty stricken,jobless and under paid workers???Why should you be concerned about the people you are supposed to represent???I already lost the bulk of my family to North Carolina and Florida…I miss them and I wonder what is keeping me…The
“Lighthouse Project” will definitely have an impact on my moving or not and the Islanders being on Long Island is a major part of what makes LI great…It is part of our identity…Don’t strip us of our identity and let Mr Wang finance this project or you will not hear the end of it…We will organize and we will make you sorry for your deceit and lies and half truths you posted on your petition…You know darn well there will be no stimulus money to rebuild an arena for a franchise that loses money…You know darn well this wont work if the owner cant make a profit..If you don’t realize this you are incompetent and you should resign…If you do indeed know it’s not possible to just rebuild the Coliseum without making it worth it for anyone to actually own the team then you are just corrupt and you should turn yourself into the Hempstead Jail…

Funny how if you CLEAR the “put long islanders first petition form” it fills in the Yes check boxes for you. I am sure a YES is mandatory to even submit the petition.

KO21 (63)- I cannot believe you actually believed her ridiculous ploy. Signing that dopey petition was you literally requesting that your government do something that is competely and unquestionable futile- ask for stimulus funds for something that is NOT “stimulus”. Dont you see? That petition is NOT about saving the Islanders, it is about asking for federal stimulus money INSTEAD OF saving the Islanders. I wish that you could see that you have been deceived… and now, by signing that silly petition, you have sent your disapproval for the project to your county representatives and registered that you would rather the government chase a futile pipedream than actually accomplish anything.

#70, I understand your concern that Wang should develop the arena first, but why should a private guy redevelop a county owned arena and not get something else in return? it doesn’t make sense.

OH what a JOKE! The TOH doesn’t even have it’s own servers? They lease space on a bandwith package box! ROFLMAO! They truely ARE in the 1950′s. Well if a few hundred people a day go there we’ll keep it down in perpetuity OR run their bandwith bill through the roof! LOL

KO21 – You’re a fool to have signed it. There is no way a referbished or new arena with the current lease AND a cup winning team in there will ever make money. The arena and site as is or a new arena alone will for ever be a loss leader and currently costs the COUNTY $1+ million in losses per anum. Research before you sign anything!

Both sides went about this wrong Murray is right if Wang cared about the Islanders he would renovate the arena 1st then worry about the surrounding area…this is not what Wang wants though he cares nothing for the TEAM he cares about the LAND around it.
Please Wang, keep the islanders where they are, renovate the arena and then work on developing the area around it. If it really is worth it you’ll get it done eventually.
Murray is also handling this horrifically and its terrible it took TEN YEARS to finally get some clarity on the matter.

…also Queens wont happen..why do you think the Dolans would let that happen?

That site is pretty funny. It really makes you realize what idiots the town takes us for. They mention apartments, office space, and people as a bad thing? how is that bad? all of those things lead to one thing! MONEY! MONEY YOU IDIOTS AT TOH MONEY! TAX REVENUE! MONEY! wow! furthermore it says that renovating the coliseum will create jobs…I wonder if they realize that doing half of the lighthouse project would employ 10X the amount of people for much much longer. I cannot wait to vote to hopefully get this woman pushed out of office.

CB, I hope you read this, but you might want to do an investigation on SMG (Spectacor Management Group) and Alfonse D’Amato. Their relationship and I understand that D’Amato’s has a close person who is on SMG’s payrole. This might be one of the reasons why the TOH is acting the way they do. D’Amato still has a lot of power along with Joseph Mondello. I can’t really get involved with an investigation because I have family members that work for the town and I don’t want them to lose their jobs, but somebody please look into all this. I posted this on that Lettherebelighthouse blog as well. somebody please investigate!!

The more I ponder I realize Mr Murray is just trying to get “us Islander fans” off her chest…Then again, this project is massive and might take allot of time to get thru al the BS and maybe it is just impossible to get it done in Wangs time frame so this might be a feasible strategy…The problem is Wang will use the losses he has taken to justify takeing them away…
