A MESSAGE TO ALL POINT BLANK COMMENT-ATORS
Please read before ever posting again
Attention all readers: Adhere to the Comment Guidelines. Comment only on the story written. Read the story if you want to comment. Start your own topic, your future comments go to moderation. No more than 3 per thread. Allow everyone to have their own opinion. Let everyone have their say on the first pick without talking down to them. Stop going after each other and declaring who’s a good fan or a bad fan. Do not make the blog your blog. Start your own. There can never be enough good Islanders blogs. Do not make the blog your message board. There are plenty of good Islanders ones out there. If you are going to quote me saying or writing something, please do it accurately. Everything is archived on the site, even my interview with Mike Francesa about Tavares and the Lighthouse. If you post under a fake email, I can’t communicate with you. Your call. It’s perfectly okay if you don’t like the guidelines. No one will be offended if you go somewhere else. Check out Comment sections of other blogs if you want to know why I have guidelines. Thank you, as always, for checking out the site every day…CB

Good call, Chris. Some of the posts lately have gotten out of hand…remember….”we’re all Islanders!!”
-
CB did you ever think of starting some sort of chat room area, so between posts we could communicate with other isles fans. Some times its hard to keep it to just 3 posts
-
Yea stick to the subject.
-
Well said Chris… Sometimes the rhetoric from the comments leave a bad taste as an Islander fan.
Good call, sir.
-
The comment guidelines are the only thing that make that bearable.
-
Lay down the law Sheriff!!
-
thank you CB we needed the law to come in
-
Nice chris, we all should relax over this. We just want the Isles to win, but, a different opinion is a good thing. Let’s remember that us Isles fans would be talking to ourselves without this blog. Peace from San Diego, go Isles!
-
Truthfully though, If I didnt have this site right now I would be really climbing the walls for Islander info. Thanks CB. I am guilty of getting carried away. The last time I was this excited about the Islanders this time of year I was in High School. Soon it will be draft day, then what will we do LOL!!
-
You have a great site, CB- and it is of course better off without namecalling and misquotes and things like that. I think (hope lol) those kinds of things will calm down and be a lot better after the draft.
-
sheesh i go away for a few days and it all goes to he!!..c’mon kiddies play nice in comments otherwise No Blog for YOU!
-
It does get kind of nasty sometimes. We can agree to disagree and move on. We’re all wearing the same colors. Thanks for the reminder. Let’s go Isles!
-
Way to use the whip C.B.
-
Uh…um… I just stopped by to say Congrats on the Hockey Barn Award. So.. uh… Congrats CB!
-
!984, that is a good idea. Of courswe, I am not knowledgable enough to know of its feasibility…
7th, Hockey Barn Award?????
-
Chris,
Thanks again for all the hard work you’ve put in. Any word on the future of IPB? -
The guidelines is part of what makes this the first and last place i go to every day
-
Amen
-
Lay down the law
-
Well done!
-
suggestion: maybe put a link to the “Comment Guidelines” next to/below the “Submit” button. Newcomers will rarely see it in the upper right column, esp since most sites don’t have any or as many guidelines.
I’m for “internet neutrality” – but i’ve come to see guidelines/restrictions as a positive here. Best to comment on the post and not someone else’s reaction. Congrats on the HB Award. I enjoy the blog everyday. Keep up the great work.
-
This is my first comment on this board and I approve this message. CB’s message.
-
Well said. Might I suggest stickying this at the top of the page, if that’s possible?
-
honestly i love that u said this… this is because i used to go to the newsday fan spots and absolutly everything was messages from about 3 to 4 maybe 5 names that were lookin donw upon (even though there hasnt been muhc to be happy about wit the isles) every situation.. in newsday they made their own fan forum and tunred it into a circus… i love what ur doin here.. keep it goin
-
CB. As a few in this thread have suggested (as well as I months back when you spawned this site), this site would benefit GREATLY IMHO from a moderated Message Board.
I know this is a blog and there’s a completely different model for a blog v. message boards, but the fact is, you’ve got a GIGANTIC following on this site.
The only true way to moderate and manage interaction is with a HF-like message board. Account creation, authentication, moderation, etc.
It will never stop trolls or miscreants altogether, but it’s far more effective than these ‘comments’.
Just a healthy suggestion as a fan who absolutely loves this site. In truth, it’s the 1st site I check on a daily basis.
This has become MY newspaper, if you will.

word
-
I laughed at that last part about guidelines. That was witty.
-
CB with the smackdown!
-
Isles say seems like not too much to ask.
-
No Guidelines = No Cup!!
-
i agree with blizzard (10); i guess we all get heated up over things because we are the fans we are…
-
Off topic but, I think the Avs should… Just joking CB.
If fans want to rant or yell then its CB’s choice to let them or not let them.
I’m with you CB. If I want to chat about what interests me in my way then I open my own blog.
-
Chris, stop warning them. Just kick them off already.
-
well done CB,
love this site
and all the islander info
it provides. sometimes the comments go on an on,good rule -
I hate to say it but I’m offended to be under moderation without at least a warning. I made a comment about a rumor I heard about the draft. I tried posting it several times because I thought it didn’t go thru but I realized soon after I was under moderation on my home computer under KO21 and IslesPassion21. Since then I read the rules about comments and I promise it won’t happen again so if you take me off MOD status you won’t be sorry. Its ok CB, I’m a grown up. You can trust me.
-
I just want to echo the suggestions that have been made to post a link to the comment guideline in some conspicuous location (e.g. in the area around the comment box, at the top of the main page, or anyplace you think would be appropriate). I see that there’s a link in the right sidebar, under categories, but I’m not sure that that’s obvious enough that someone new to the blog would necessarily see it before posting a comment.
-
CB – Your comment guidelines are fair enough … The reason the majority of us make this our Islander info home base is not only due to the rich content of your threads … but because the comments are policed in a way that keeps the blog civil and subject oriented … Keep up the good work … even though I’ve exceeded the speedlimit (100 word limit) at times … I applaud your diligence.
-
I’ll always read. As for commenting, I may chime in, I may not. But I’ll always read.
-
My NYI draft hat review was not intended to be all in italics.
-
Hey CB, quick suggestion. If possible it might be a good idea to move the comments link to the bottom of the article. It may cut down on the number of people who simply comment without reading the article. Just throwing that out there.

Alright, I didnt see them before. Good to know! Thanks
