There’s the NHL Draft. There’s the jam-packed Islanders Draft Party. And then there’s the Post-Draft Draft Celebration.
R.C. Dugans in East Meadow, two minutes from the Coliseum.
10:00 pm - midnightish.
$1 Miller pints if the Islanders draft John Tavares first overall. 25-cent Miller pints if they draft anyone other than Tavares first overall.
Free wings.

No cover charge.
If you don’t want Miller and don’t eat wings, there will be plenty of alternatives at the bar and in the kitchen.
The event is brought to you by R.C. Dugans and the Miller Brewing Company, but let’s be blunt: no one’s making any money off Johnny T. dollar or HedDuch 25-cent pints and free wings - least of all Dugans owner, Islanders season ticketholder and fellow Point Blank reader Jay Dugan. Jay just wanted to offer Islanders fans a place to unwind after the draft and enjoy some hockey conversation. He’s a good man, so I’m showing my support.
RC Dugans is located at 2314 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, 2.1 miles East of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The phone number is 516.520.0325. There’s plenty of parking in the back of the pub, which is on the south side of Hempstead Turnpike.
Since it’s an establishment, guests must be 21 or older. Please drink responsibly. More than that, just stop by and meet up with Islanders fans after the draft on Friday night. Maybe if the Islanders don’t draft Tavares, Dugans can set up a dunk tank and I can be the clown.

CB - Does this mean you have decided not to go to Montreal for the draft? I do remember a post that you wrote that if you thought they were Taking JT that you were going to MTL but if you thought differently it would be the draft party. Am I reading too much into this?

BTW does anyone know if VS or TSN will have cameras set up at the Coliseum to videotape fan reaction?
If my colleague from work and I go to the draft, I will do my best to convince him to go.

This is one of the coolest/nicest things I’ve heard in a while - refreshing, and now I totally have a craving for wings! I wish I still lived in NY so I could be part of the entire draft party/after party experience!
ive heard Duggans has the best wings! ive never tried um but ill tell you guys right now… if the isles take Ducshene i will lose my appetite for a month.
I can’t be there, but it’s a win for RC Dugans. Islander fans are either going to drink their sorrow or drink their joy… let’s hope for the later.

That’s great. 25 cent beers after the Islanders take Duchene #1 for all Islander fans. 2 hours later they return to the Coliseum hammered and burn it to the ground…ironically the name of our goal song is “burn it to the ground”

Thank you for helping me promote this night at my place. I am a lifetime fan who has a dad who is an original season tix holder.I go to 99% of all home games,win or lose,Yashin or Okposo,Rich Pilon or Gordie Lane,Rich Kromm or John Tavares, with my dad.I am doing this yes,of course for some (hopefully) return business but in reality it would be an easier sell to worry about the Mets/Yanks game like everyone else.I am truly just trying to get involved with something I feel passionate about.I hope no matter who the team picks that they turn out to be exactly what is expected of a number one pick.I believe in the scouts ,so no matter who it is the team picks I will be rooting for that kid from minute 1. I want john Tavares but I have seen him play exactly ZERO times.I believe in ken Morrow/Ryan Jankowski. It should make for a great debate for a long time if all these guys pan out. I truly hope to see a lot of you on Friday night. It will be a great night for Islander fans.
