I’ve been a long time islanders fan who currently lives in Orlando Florida. If we draft this kid I will get nhl center ice again and follow him every step of the way. Just like Obama gave the country hope, this kid is an immediate influx of hope to my beloved Islanders. It’s a no brainer, let’s pick him up!!!

What an amazing show of maturity and class on JT’s part, AS WELL as the Islanders. This is really a breath of fresh air that this team needs. I’m so impressed with Tavares’ words and want to see him in royal blue on June 26th!

Great interview JT and CB. There is no doubt in any Islander fan who should be picked on June 26th. JT ALL THE WAY. That said is it just me or has there been very little talk about upcoming Free Agent season. Maybe we could have a post about who would be a good fit on the Island.

Great Article CB and thanks for all the work. I agree with the overwhelming majority and would love to see JT playing for the Isles.

How about a little love for the current maangement group though? How great is it that we’ve got such quality players saying they want to play on the Island? Worst record in the leaque last year, one of the worst rinks in the league and yet we’ve seen both Hedman and JT come out strongly stating they love the Island and would love to play for the team. Class acts like Doug Weight wanting to stay with the club and see something build there? Clearly Garth and the others are doing a GREAT job of building something here already. It seems that Okposo and Bailey are both character guys, adding still more of that really bodes well.

It wasn’t that long ago that nobody would have wanted to come to the Island even for a road game. We’re seeing a dramatic shift in the culture of this organization. Milbury would have likely traded the pick for the rights to Gordie Howe already.

Maybe we can start competing again with the Rangers and Devils and get that 3 way rivalry heated up again. That’s always fun when all three teams are playing well. NOT that I want the Rangers to play well. Just so we are all clear on that!

I hope Garth does the right thing for Isles fans. We have been thru hell for over a decade. We suffered thru Mad Mike and his dismantling of a once proud franchise. We are tired of being the laughing stock of the NHL and we’re tired of being embarrased on draft day.

This is OUR time, we deserve this.

Garth, embarras us, make us proud again, pick Tavares.
