I have an idea, and it’s my third and final comment in this thread.
Botta, you always said, “Why not just announce Tavares early?”
Maybe this is why. Tavares never looked so good unless you’re faced with the threat of having the team take Duchene instead. It would be so anticlimactic. Now, if they take JT, we’re not just happy for the future, but we’re thrilled and relieved at the same time.
That said, if they take Duchene…I’m going to hide under the covers for a week or so.

Dreger has blogged on his tweetee or whatever: “Garth Snow has done a masterful job of hiding his intentions. Outside of his owner, Charles Wang, no one knows what the Isles intend to do.”
This reassures me that Jaffe and Logan, as connected as they are, don’t know either.
Also, why would the Islanders allow TSN to feature the crowd’s reaction tonight after their pick if they know the fans will boo their selection? That would be replayed on TSN and ESPN (maybe not so much on ESPN) for a couple of years and be an embarassment. I don’t think the fans will dictate who they pick but I don’t think they would allow TSN in if they were going to get booed.
