It has nothing to do with the Islanders, Long Island is just where he lives. So those that spit on Guerin's Stanley Cup celebration would also be spitting on Butch Goring's 1980 cup victory. I'm glad that BG got another shot at the cup and will even have another shot next year. He ended up staying with "his" team who he provided leadership and goals on the way to the cup. The fact he calls Long Island his home and is brining the cup here should be a compliment to Long Islanders ... and is only positive press for the area at large. Besides ...
