NYI approached to join Nets in Barclays Centre
Botta on NHL Fanhouse RSS Feed
The borough of Brooklyn is back as a potential destination for the New York Islanders, an NHL source tells Point Blank.
As municipalities continue to express interest in Charles Wang’s hockey team, the most recent approach has come from the leaders of the Barclays Centre project that hopes to bring the New Jersey Nets to Brooklyn. According to sources, other potential suitors include Queens, Kansas City and a still-undisclosed city in Canada.
The New York Times reported on Thursday that Nets owner Bruce Ratner is close to selling a majority stake in his basketball team to Mikhail Prokhorov, an avid sports fan and - with a personal fortune of $9 billion - believed to be the wealthiest person in Russia. On Thursday, Ratner won state approval to build an $800 million arena in Brooklyn. Ratner and Wang have met over the last few years to discuss their plans for their respective teams and the potential of the Nets playing a regular season game at the Nassau Coliseum. They are said to enjoy a cordial relationship.
During the five-year struggle to develop the 22-acre residential and commercial project in Brooklyn, the arena has been designed in some plans to accommodate an NHL franchise and some for concerts and basketball only. Having teams from both the NBA and the NHL could get the Barclays Centre project much closer to reality.
In recent weeks, as the Town of Hempstead and Lighthouse developers continue to disagree on major aspects of the project, Brooklyn has emerged as a serious suitor for the Islanders. Wang has asked for certainty from the Town by Oct. 3, the day of his team’s home opener.
“Wang’s wish is still to keep the Islanders in Nassau County,” said the source. “He won’t let his people talk to Kansas City or Brooklyn or anywhere else until his deadline passes. But if things continue the way they have with Hempstead, at least Charles has attractive options in New York.”

Lighthouse Hearing on Tuesday: The Lighthouse zoning hearing is this Tuesday, Sept. 22 at the Adams Playhouse on the campus of Hofstra University. There will be sessions from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, 2-5:00 pm and 6-9:00 pm. We’re told that the majority of speakers are scheduled and the most action is expected to take place in two windows: from 9-11 am and 6-8 pm.
Since the Town declined the resident and fan-friendly recommendation to combine the zoning hearing with the enviromental hearing on Aug. 4, the Sept. 22 event seems to be falling through the cracks. While the Aug. 4 hearing had tons of buzz, was kicked off by a pro-Lighthouse rally and opened in the morning to a full house at Hofstra, there appears to be little momentum towards Tuesday. The most noise has been coming from a coalition of Garden City residents planning to speak against the Lighthouse.
If the zoning hearing does not feature the level of support demonstrated on Aug. 4 it could be a major setback for the Lighthouse Project. The call is out to stand up one more (last?) time. If this project and/or the New York Islanders are important to you, find an hour or seven to show up and be heard on Tuesday.

Looks like it will be anywhere but Nassau County for the New York Softies. Thanks for nothing Kate Murray.
A dream come true for a brooklynite!!
idk what to say… i want the lighthouse.. but this would at least promise us the team would still b on the “Island!”
This is excellent news. Any time an option in the tri-state area presents itself, it’s a good thing. I’m getting tired of hearing about KC and Hamilton or wherever.
I wouldnt be upset with a brooklyn move. It’d keep the isles local and let murray sit with an empty lot as her legacy. It’s certainly better than the other alternatives should the lighthouse fail to clear. Push comes to shove, I think the town will blink first tho.
Lighthouse first. If not, Brooklyn is the good choice. Enough people to sell out games.
I want the Lighthouse as much as the next guy but if it does come to that I would much rather a move locally (ala Brooklyn or Queens) rather then an out of state move. But I still would prefer the Lighthouse and intend on going to the hearing on tuesday. Def. the afternoon one and hopefully the mourning one as well!
lineup…. Lighthouse, Suffolk County (if a site is found), Queens (the closer to Long Island the better), Brooklyn, Hartford (random, but at the very edge of driving distance although! team name would b changed!), Canada (it would b a defeat for the Islanders, but if anywhere deserves another team, it’s canada), Kansas City (correct me if i’m wrong, but did an NHL team once play there and FAIL?… screw u KC!!!
I called this. Victory!
I always knew when I saw rattner at the games years ago it wasn’t for no reason
VICTORY? WTH? Brooklyn is a fall back, NOT our goal here! If any Isles fans are actually swayed by what is essentially meaningless talk from showing their support on the 22nd then we as a group dont deserve a team.
I still think Queens is the better choice. the arena in down town brooklyn is similar to the Lighthouse if anyone hasn’t been paying attention. The red tape here is just as bad.
Build a lighthouse next to Citifield in Queens. Or the Author Ash Stadium (Though one must wonder what that would mean for the US Open) Plenty of land. NYI in the Winter, NYM in the summer. Plenty of public transportation options, parking and room for growth. Who knows, maybe lure in the Jets somewhere down the line and actually have a NY football team again? Dreams…
The arena in brooklyn is going to be a parking nightmare in an already conjested court district. Let the Nets have that mess. Islanders in Queens! That’s the ticket!
I dont consider Queens or Brooklyn part of LI. LI to me is Nassau and Suffolk. If they move, they better change the name.
Deep down, I feel this will end like the Penguins situation. A last second deal will happen.
Besides, if the Isles move what will happen to the Coliseum? Its going to be empty besides concerts. And no, a minor league team won’t work.
Sorry to post 2x in a row, I have to question the logic of Whang considering BKLYN:
Its pretty common knowledge that Whang is all about real estate. Not a knock at the man, just a reality.
Would Whang stand to profit if he moved the Islanders - the catalyst for his vision of Wangworld a.k.a. Lighthouse to Brooklyn?
Without the potential hundreds of apartments and business rentals, I don’t see Charles Whang showing a heck of a lot of interest in splitting a new arena with Ratner and co. Or even retaining ownership of the Islanders in that scenerio. Unless he wanted the to buy the Nets too? Or Ranten wants the Islanders to sell in a package to Mikhail Prokhorov?(Not really serious about Whang buying the Nets, despite the fact that he always wanted an NBA Team or NYI to Ratner)
Not to mention in Downtown Brookly, the real estate surrounding the new arena site is in high demand and many times more expensive than the barren parking lots around the NVMC. I don’t see much to gain for Whang in Brooklyn.
CB - your perspective would be appreciated.
thanks!
russian dude buys property and area…isles move in and suddenly get all the best russian players….weird i think not
@NickyL - Geographically, Brooklyn and Queens are part of Long Island. From a municiple perspective, they are boroughs of NYC.
I’ll take a NYI team in Brooklyn/Queens over a renamed/reuniformed memory of a team playing in a far away city.
At this point in the game, I hope you are right about the Pitt comparison. But if you are wrong, is your Nassau/Suffolk pride too great to support a Brooklyn/Queens based NYI team over the second coming of the KC Scouts?
I am okay with the team playing anywhere that is represented on our team crest. Obviously Nassau and Suffolk would be preferable, but Queens and Brooklyn will work too. No name or logo change needed.
Oh, and can we get a 5th shoulder stripe???
I understand Wang’s reasons but as far as me buying tickets to Brooklyn: Fuggitaboutit!
Isles Fans, this is the son of Stan, Born Islanders lover.
We have long wanted Wang’s dreams for the Islanders and the Lighthouse to work out. This Schmuck Murray has done much to kill Charlie off.
You the faithful have done much good to get out and show Murray and her dark legion your love for our boys. But we must Rally one more time as Chris has said. If we want to keep our boys where they, than all of you will once again have to show Murray up again on the 22.
I am sorry that I will not be able to attend being that I live in Israel, but I ask all true Islander fans to show up for me and show this Murray what we are about!!!!!!
LETS GO ISLANDERS
P.S.- Maybe Murray is being paid of by the Rangers
The Brooklyn site is even better than Queens. The arena is going to be right over, or around the corner, from the LIRR station. You could take a train in, go upstairs to the game, and when it’s over just go right back downstairs and jump on the railroad. It would basically be exactly like Madison Square Garden. I’m glad this option is on the table.
It would be Dolans dream to have the Islanders move out of state. He’d bring the Hartford Wolfpack to NVMC and he monopolize the tri-state area with his Rangers.
He did the same thing blocking the West Side Stadium to eliminate competition for his MSG/Radio City…
Make no mistake about it, he’s pulling strings to make this happen.
I still don’t quite understand why Ratner will sell to Mikhail Prokhorov. In a way, I’d expect Mr. Prokhorov to buy the Islanders should they move to Brooklyn.
More importantly, I thought that, now that Frank Jehrry is off the project, an ice rink would no longer be in the plans? Or as something changed…
a few months ago when the first scaled down version of the atlantic yards arena was introduced, a point was made that the design no longer allowed for hockey. then a couple of weeks ago a third version was unveiled, but i haven’t seen if hockey is back as an option there. anyone have info on that? i’ve always thought the brooklyn option was charles wang’s ace-in-the-hole. the entry of the russian wealthmeister into this has ratcheted up the intrigue in this affair to new levels.
I live in Westchester so I guess my opinion isn’t as vested in LI as others….if it were up to me, I’d say screw the LH and tell Charles same thing Tom Hagen told Sonny with a slight modification…”if the Lighthouse dies, take the deal Charlie”. I had always thought this option made the most sense anyway. Go for it….Oct 4th begin talking in earnest.
wow , havent heard the queens/brooklyn bluff for awhile
I thought everyone was holding hands and playing nice nice
Good news for Nassau Residents! Reading todays’ Newsday description of the LH,(Sunday) it is clear that building this monstrosity in a place that is way too overcrowded now, will be more of a death sentence for the future of the Town of Hempstead, Nassau county & Long Islands’ future. The promise of future jobs does nothing to erase the overcrowding, massive traffic snarls & overuse of infrastructure that this will create. Brooklyn is a great option, I hope CW gets a good price for the Isles.
Brooklyn or Queens is fine with me…I like most prefer the team stay where it is, but as long as I do not have to change the TV channel to watch, I am fine. Queens would be my first choice, but, I would not complain about Brooklyn. Just be careful with this whole Russian owner thing…
I don’t understand why Wang would sell the team if they moved to Brooklyn or Queens. Why wouldn’t he just keep the team, move them himself, and then reap the benefits of a profitable franchise in the future?
This is great news. I really hope they end up in Brooklyn. They would receive more media coverage and still be on Long Island. Let the the Oct. 3 deadline pass.
I’m selfish, I LOVE the Brooklyn Idea. And Kate Murray is an IDIOT! Also, Will there be a way to stream the game tonight or am I gonna have to listen online tonight while I watch the Giants spank the cowgirls?
Enough of this BS.
There’s no way Murray lets her political career go down the drains with the IMMENSE amount of bad publicity she and the TOH would receive if Wang was to make a deal somewhere else. Ultimately, a deal WILL be done here in Nassau and the Isles will stay. Yes, there will be alot of rhetoric like this being spewed by the media as EVERYone will “want” the Isles (and Wang will use them as leverage) to move to their hometown but in the end, TOH WILL bite their stinking tongues and pass this thing.
Bank on it.
I live so close to the coliseum that I am home before the post game show is over (even though you can’t hear it), but when I saw the Brooklyn possibilty I felt happy (relatively speaking). This would give us a very convenient mass transit option that we would not have in Queens and would be wayyy better than out of state. I would still go to games in Brooklyn, although the person that I split my season tix with lives in Suffolk, so I don’t think I could keep the full seasons.
I grew up if in Suffolk. Now I live in Bay Ridge, two blocks from the Verrazanno Bridge. As a full season-ticket holder, this would make my commute to games much easier. HOWEVER, the Islanders are Long Island’s team and I would love for them to stay in Nassau or Suffolk. Plus, where is the guarantee that people from Brooklyn will want to watch the Islanders. If they like hockey, they are already Ranger fans.
Brooklyn? I say do it. Screw the TOH. However, what motivation does Wang have at that site? Will he still own the franchise? Will it be profitable? What stake will he have in that arena? Is this just another bluff? Canadian suitors scare the hell out of me. Just sayin.
When I hear “Canadian suitors” , right away I think “Balsille” and “Hamilton”
CB, you mention that the buzz has died down from August 4th. I believe in reality you helped create most of that buzz with this blog. Which was a good thing. And since you are no longer sponsored by the team, the team and Wang have lost their biggest buzz generator. They cut their nose to spite their face in my opinion and in the end it may wind up costing them massive LH support. Besides your blog and Nick’s, I really don’t read/hear anything about the LH project except an occasional Newsday article. So who is going to help generate any buzz now? Just askin.
I am within walking distance to Atlantic Center. I will be first to buy season tickets.
Hey hockey fans if they move I want the name to change and don’t call yourself “Islanders” may be call yourself the “Triboros” But I hope you stay on the Island anyway.
funny how in the end, kate murray is going to get her wish. not to be a negative nancy but unless some miracle happens and the lighthouse project is passed, i am not spending a penny on this team.
just checked the newly designed barclays center website real quick and curiously it lists “ice shows” among the events it will host. this is a change from the prior design. far as i know, noone in the wang or ratner camps has ever ackowledged that the possibility of the ‘brooklyn islanders’ was ever discussed even in the most cursory way. but given all those 2 have been dealing with, i don’t buy that. at any rate, the ‘approval’ mentioned by CB for atlantic yards was an expected rubber stamp, and it likely is going to lead to another law suit and maybe more delay (the opposition’s intent). another test and possibly the final hurdle for AY is a nys court of appeals hearing in mid-october relating to an eminent domain issue. in any case, the AY plan must get a final greenlight in next couple of months because the tax free status of the bonds ratner plans to use expires on december 31. if that happens, fawgeddaboutit.
Brooklyn would be amazing, but my first choice is still Queens. Either move would make this franchise a big market team.
I really feel that Wang and company have a few things up their sleave that Murrary and the ToH are concerned about. The blame might not be all in their laps if Wang’s only true concern is a new building for his team and real estate to follow, why not give the ToH what they are asking for, and that is a guarntee that the isles wont be going anywhere for at least 30 years and that the refurbished colliseum is at top priorty as far as the order in which they want to complete the project. Remember Wang IS and FIRST a buisness man, whose top priorty is MONEY.
I live up in Westchester and have a full season ticket plan and make it about 30 games each season and to be honest, I’m never there outside of a game day where I don’t really see much traffic or congestion, what I see is a lot of empty space with Nassau Community College on one side…a few office buildings, Hofstra U on the other side and then fast food restaurants and a few more office buildings on Hempstead Turnpike there. I won’t get into the jobs that will be created by going on with this project during all phases especially in this economic environment where the State unemployment rate is about to go over 10% but, does the TOH know the amount of tax revenue that will be created from the property taxes that will be paid to the TOH and on top of the the sales taxes generated as well from people shopping in the area, buying tickets for games, and other things? Does the TOH also understand the growth that some of the small businesses in the area will also have? Does the town also realize that the entire project will be funded by Wang and his partner without using a dime of taxpayer money? AND if the area is as congested as they say it is then with or without the project the town then STILL needs to pay for road improvements regardless? No? The question comes down to:
1. Is Murray actually asking the NVMC be renovated first and then the project go on as a way of finding out if Wang is serious about keeping the Isles on the site or:
2. Just her way of trying to kill the project knowing that Wang wants to do everything all at once?
If its #1 then good, if its #2 then not good.
In the end, Queens would be the better site because its easier to get there with both car and mass transit since the #7 train runs there regularly and also there is an LIRR stop there as well, plus, it is much easier to get there by car than Brooklyn is. Plus, I would say there are more Isles fans in Queens than there are in Brooklyn and Queens also increases the fan base as it makes it an easier commute for those coming from the Island as well as fans from some of NYC’s northern Suburbs who are Isles fans.
Brooklyn would be great. You can bet the Rags would not be happy with the Isles in Brooklyn. This news should really put the heat on the TOH.
Brooklyn would be terrible. Queens would be a much better option considering a majority of it’s fan base is on Long Island. The trip to Flushing would not be that bad especially because we have the LIRR.
When TOH sinks into the sands of LI There will be no one to blame except kate murray.Go Brooklyn! Go Queens!!
My Home, Brooklyn NY, becomes a major league city again, and MY team, the Islanders has a new home.
The Isles in Brooklyn would be huge news. The attention the Isles would receive in Brooklyn would be huge.
I think CB’s last paragraph is the most important one here, fellow Isles fans…
I’m in my 30’s and I’ve seen the TOH/Nassau County get absolutely nothing of note accomplished in my lifetime as far as major projects go. Nothing. I still hold out hope for the Lighthouse, but we’re looking at a reversal of almost 40 years of ineptitude in this county- was the current Coliseum the last major project completed in the county? What else is there? The Source Mall?
I’m all for Brooklyn if it means saving the Islanders- after so many years, I know better than to count on Long Island to get something done. It’s sad. And they wonder why young people are leaving Long Island.
Queens has never been a serious option because the people pushing it are not the money people-as of now this is just musing on the part of a few people in that boro. On the other hand Bklyn is going to happen with or without an NHL team. KC is a joke, the scouts failed there years ago. So the puck is really in Kate Murray’s glove. The answer is how much is she in bed with the Garden City crowd?
I want them to stay on Long Island…but if they can’t please stay in NY
Brooklyn or Queens is fine with me, even though I Queens is a better option because it is still part of NYC but close enough to Nassau and Suffolk county. For those who believe the logo won’t change due to Islanders moveto Brooklyn or Queens, the Islanders only have Nassau and Suffolk county in their logo. Compare Nasa satellite image of Long Island to the Islanders current logo. The logo HAS to change to accomodate Brooklyn and Queens if the Islanders move into 1 of them.
Take the train to the game! When the Islanders & that other team are in town boy are train rides going to be fun. Note to the MTA more cops for the idiots at MSG. No Sleep till Brooklyn! Thanks Kate!
I’m with #52
Well said 54. The TOH better wake up and understand the Isles have options. 10/3 comes around make the call to Brooklyn.
I have my doubts that the Brooklyn arena will ever get off the ground. Queens is the MUCH better option. Plus, Queens is more accessible to Long Islanders than Brooklyn.
and the russian mob is going to own the NYI.
Nothing but good publicity can come out of this. Things are looking good for Tues.
Always good to have options on the table, especially one that would make a world of sense.
However, our main duty right now is to support the Lighthouse this Tuesday, not to argue about which back-up plan is better. I hope people can find time out of their busy schedules to come, or to send an email (lighthousecomment(at)tohmail(dot)org) indicating your support.
This is a lot of posturing, as we enter into a sensitive part of negotiations. It’s counter-productive to take it as anything other than a potential back-up plan.
I agree, with nick. Lighthouse 1st, Brooklyn or Queens 2nd. 3rd, I become a Devil’s fan
Why would MSG want the Islanders to move out of state? Why would they want to loose the Islanders TV rights? Hopefully the Islanders are good enough when that deal expires that SNY or YES would want to pick them for winter programming.
The Rangers really have no threat when it comes to the Islanders if they would move to Brooklyn IMO. As an original six, their fanbase is engraved in stone. I would think anyway. But would such a move actually cause a conflict being so close to the Rangers? I wonder how the Ranger organization would feel?
If the Islanders go to Brooklyn, I hope Wang can share the cost with Ratner in building the Atlantic Yards.
Kate Murray’s classic ploy is to blame the other side for a deal that tanks. But this time she will have to take the hit if there is a no go. One interesting road block that she has put up is suggesting that the colisem upgrade must come first to test Wang’s sincerity in wanting to keep the franchise here. Wang like any business man does not want to be pinned down to that restriction. However Kate is being very clever here because his failure to agree to that stipulation could serve to divide the pro LH side.
as a child of season ticket holders from the team’s inception, through the dynasty, and a brooklyn resident, this would be spectacular. a lot of people out here in the hood would be opened up to a sport they never really gave a chance before. if nassau can’t get this done, i really hope i see the islanders in BK. kansas city and hamilton can get a new expansion team, they don’t deserve the islanders though.
Bklyn would be fine, but the whole take the long Isle rail to flatbush and change at Jamaica thing sort of stinks. But I agree as well, no deal from the TOH, time to stick to murray and let her legacy be a failure. Mondello will be so proud. The next best thing would be if she lost the upcoming election but we all know that will not happen because people on long island blindly vote republican no matter what!
1)Lighthouse
2)Brooklyn
3)Queens
I just want them to stay in New York
1) Lighthouse
2) Queens
3) Brooklyn
Gotta keep them as close to Nassau as possible. Most of the fan base is there, not Brooklyn. However Brookly/Queens are fine alternatives if no Lighthouse.
I like nothing more right now than living 15 minutes from where my favorite sports team plays. I really hope that they stay where they are. If Kate Murray keeps up the nonsense and doesn’t let it happen, then I’d much rather the team be in Brooklyn or Queens than in Kansas City or Canada. At least I’d still be able to see a few games a year and they’d still be the Islanders.
My list would be
1) Queens
2) Brooklyn
3) Lighthouse
Moving to the city would help solidify the team and get more exposure. Better for the viability of the franchise being closer to the city. I wish Wang recognized this years ago and not bother all this baloney from Nassau.
1) Queens
2) Brooklyn
3) Lighthouse
Maybe I’m the only one but I hate the LH idea. Out of control spending which if/when every completed will lead to out of control traffic, congestion, and a complete loss of our resources.
Brooklyn would be cool. I lived in Bensonhurst during the ‘93 playoffs run and can tell you that there were more Isles fans there than Ranger ones.
Queens would be best. Closest to Nassau, good addition to Citi Field and enough land there for both Wang and Ratner to build on. As Art said however, none of the politicos pushing Queens have the money to build it.
Also, as a Jets fan, I think if the Islanders did move to Brooklyn or Queens it wouldn’t be long before the Jets acquired that land for their own stadium.
interesting on how Wang has insisted that you can’t only renovate the NCVMC. that you have to do his massive real estate deal. Yet he is apparently willing to move into an arena in Brooklyn that may not be built right for hockey and be a second class citizen. Does anyone think the Nets, who are spearheading this drive in an effort to find yet another area where they can’t draw flies, won’t get a sweetheart deal on concessions and parking for all events, be it sports, concerts or conventions?
I am an Islanders fan from Holland, but what I don’t get is how just 1 woman can hold the Lighthouse project off. Don’t people protest against her. Can anyone explain that?
Think a move to Brooklyn would overall be better for the franchise. Rather have that than Hamilton, Kansas City, or Las Vegas.
Bjorn Holland — #73 — welcome to New York. It would take EONS to explain it all to you.
As far as two posters who said Queens would be better than Brooklyn because it’s on the train line..no way. Brooklyn is accessible by all the LIRR lines except the Port Washington line, where the Queens arena would be, and where Citi is. In terms of mass transit alone, Brooklyn is far better than Flushing.
Let’s stop beating around the bush. If Wang doesn’t get the Lighthouse, he’ll have no use for our hockey team. The reason he hasn’t pursue options is because he’s not interested in a building for the Islanders. He’s interested in condos, etc. That being said, I want the Ligthouse approved so that the Isles stay here on LI. I do not trust Chuckie. If for some reason the Lighthouse falls through, watch how quickly he tries to cut and run.
I agree with most about Charles Wang being there for the real estate. What we all need to remember is what Gary Bettman said, that the NHL want’s the Isles to stay right where they are on Long Island right where they are. So Mr Bettman it’s about time to put your money where your mouth is and help us the Islander fans and get a deal done just like you did in Pittsburgh a couple of year’s ago and look where Pittsburgh is now STANLEY CUP champs and opening a new arena next season I believe.
So to all let’s keep them where they belong right here on LONG ISLAND….
JUST BUILD IT!
There is a lot going on that only Wang and his immediate crowd know about. He only lets out what he sees is in his personal interest. There has been probably some off the record discussions with the TOH. Now other posters can criticize this post as being basically saying nothing and they would be right. But my guess is that the Islanders are going to be in this area for many years, but there will be lots of surprises along the way Stay Tuned!!!
I like what #43 had to say. What I CAN”T believe is that someone here actually said,”If they move, they better change the name.”
The whole point is the “Islanders” staying the “Islanders.” If the Isles don’t ultimately stay in the NY/LI area with the the original Islanders blue & orange logo, than we have lost.
Brooklyn would be a-ok w/me. Brooklyn or Queens would be sweet. Never liked the LH. No way in, no way out via mass transit. A complete waste. LI needs more cars like it needs a hole in the head.
If they at least used the freight tracks to build a commuter line off of the main branch, one that could also make a stop at Roosevelt Field, LH could make some sense.
Sans that I agree with Tom. Brooklyn or Queens is the way to go.
and as was my point (not the first to make it though) on that from the beginning Brooklyn and Queens are already part of the Islader emblem.
Wang is about the real estate, and judging from what’s been happening with the Russian dude, it does look like Ratner is desperate for additional help in funding this, and desperate enough that he is allowing others to get pieces of Atlantic Yards to develop. So if Wang does get a part of Barclays, you can bet on the fact that he’ll get some of Atlantic Yards too, so he doesn’t totally misses out on real estates.
If the Lighthouse is not approved I will be very happy with The islanders moving to queens or brooklyn. either way the islanders are getting a new building not like the rat infested dump in manhattan Lets go islanders.
Long Island’s economy NEEDS the $90 million in tax money that the Islanders are estimated to provide. Between the employees paying taxes, the players buying houses, boats, etc. Letting this money go to NYC is a sin. NYC already has all the money.
Hellooooo Broooklyyynnnnnn!!!
Beastie Boys forever!
Lets go Islanders!…to BROOKLYN w the NETS!
