nothing happened to him b/c he hid behind that wimp giordano who jumped in both tiesm we tried to go after phaneuf… how did giordano get away with 2 3rd man in penalties in this game while we go shorthanded both times…

How do you blame Brent Sutter for Phaneuf’s hit? He’s a big, dumb dman that made his rep by doing this kind of thing all the time. He probably doesn’t even realize this is an exhibition game

Have to agree with #120. The Islanders get no respect. The Islanders where outplaying the Flames and Phaneauf goes head hunting in a pre-season game? Do you think he would have done the same thing against Philly?

It would be a good idea to get some beef or I fear JT is next.

If a player wants to cheap shot and is big and intimidating, unless you have a chris simon on hand to possibly retaliate in the manner he does, you are at the mercy of the league to step in.

Ottawa had some tough guys, and Chris Pronger still tried to shoot the puck right at alfie i believe. Is georges laraque really going to prevent deon phaneuf from cheap shotting who he wants?

We had the league’s most insane, lose cannon in simon. We still got a boatload of injuries, some via cheapshot.

#28 please don’t ever make that idiot comment about telling someone else to watch a game. Botta has asked people to not say such stupid things. I watch every game. Haven’t missed any since Center Ice became available. What I saw last night was Bruno not being strong enough to handle Souray and that resulted in the game winning goal. I see that a lot with Islanders d-men too much of the same type of player. Same for MacDonald tonight. While Geravis might have a great personality I’d rather have someone not so special off the ice but fantastic on the ice. Some people tend to overrate guys as long as they play for your team until they leave.

Someone going to chime in about how Det or Pit would have handled the cheap shot on Okposo? I hate Brent Sutter. He is targeting the Isles best young players.

This is why you build a team of warriors with skill, guys wouldn’t think of pulling that stuff. The Isles response was weak. Yes, Morency went after him but didn’t get him. Martinek did what he always does he stands there looking stupid, Biron got knocked on his butt, big Marchinko stood there. The response was not enough and hasn’t been enough.

Gordon should know how Sutter plays it by now. Sutter feels he can do what he wants against the Isles and he’s right because Gordon never responded against NJ. Riechlecz and Jackman should have been dressed tonight.

Love Martin’s game.

For all of you that don’t think the Isles need to get bigger and tougher all I have to say is Tavares is next.
