A STATEMENT FROM CHARLES B. WANG
“We will not discuss meetings in the media”
12:50 pm - Charles Wang just released this statement: “Yesterday’s report on the Lighthouse project which appeared in the Long Island Press is untrue. There are no plans to abandon this project which is so vital to the future of Nassau County and Long Island as a whole.
“As far as the status of the Lighthouse project, we have submitted to The Town of Hempstead and Supervisor Kate Murray all the studies and required documents. A lease has been negotiated. Supervisor Murray and the Town Board need to make a decision on the zoning. Long Island stands in this defining moment waiting for an answer. Yes or no. Moving forward, we will not discuss any meetings in the media. Any reports of meetings should be considered untrue.
“My heart is still on Long Island. I love Long Island. This is where the Islanders belong. Let’s play hockey.” The hockey talk, including the latest lines and info on a live chat, continues in next thread.

So it is really in the hands of the TOH.
I think the folks who got into a tizzy over this are the ones that actually took that crap rumor last night to be true. Heck I could make up a story right know about someone and post it on a blog or my own site nowadays, its very easy to do.
The pathetic publication only wanted to create a stir like they are the enquirer, they played on the emotions of all Islanders fans and it worked to a tee. It is over now, Wang has addressed the issue as untrue and has told any of us to consider any sort of story in the future as untrue.
Wang does love this team, he does love Long Island, if he didn’t as a businessman losing all the money he has; he would have sold the Islanders years ago, but he has stuck with them. May he be cast down because God forbid he wants to make some money with the team and the Lighthouse Project; what a horrible man he is. And yes that was Sarcasm BIG TIME.
Move on, we will see what happens, LETS PLAY HOCKEY
LETS GO ISLANDERS!!!!
VOTE OUT MURRAY!
“My heart is still on Long Island. I love Long Island. This is where the Islanders belong. Let’s play hockey.”
GOD BLESS YOU CHALES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good for Charles Wang and Co.
I think he comes out smelling like a rose in this fiasco of the past 24 hours.
Seems like someone plants a story… Wang gives it a chance to stew a little… then comes out with a strong statement about how it’s untrue and let’s get it done.
Looks like a hero. Kate looks like a chump.
DOC
It’s good sign though he’s not yapping about his self imposed deadline that didn’t scare the ToH one iota. Maybe The Developers are realizing what they need to do to get this done? Downsize.
Not meaning to crash your Islander website or anything, but hockey fans all over Long Island are hoping that the Town of Hempstead AND Charles Wang get their acts together.
As much as we have different opinions on the Lighthouse, we all want the Islanders to stay. It’s good for Long Island, and yeah, it’s good for the Rangers. The Islanders have real potential to become something great during this rebuild. With the resurgence of the Rangers as a playoff team a couple years ago, we could have a great rivalry back in our hands.
Charles Wang needs to be flexible here, but the TOH really needs to get something going. Our politicians are very disappointing!
Save the Islanders and Let’s Go Rangers!
I support Mr. Wang and hate Kate but…
If this team does leave NY it will be him that is remembered as the man who did it. I am still not hopeful that the ToH will pull it’s proverbial head out of it’s rear end.
I’m tired of the Town and all the red tape. I’m tired of Murray, for other reason as well.
I like the idea of the Islanders moving across the street from the Mets in the Willets Point area.
……sheeesh. Well from Wangs mouth to our ears, ” I love Long Island ” The dream is still alive.
If Wang moves the team, I for one will not condemn the man. I feel he has honestly tried to make it work here but Kate Murray decided to make it into a power trip. My gut says the team will move somewhere eventually because I just don’t see Murray ever agreeing to the LHP.
thank you charles for everything. despite what some may say about him being selfish and only after the money, no one can question his love for the team and for the island.
Agreed Sumo, with you on that. Historically speaking though, it’s O’Malley who was blamed for moving the Dodgers when the facts all point to his getting squeezed out by The Power Broker, Robert Moses. Same goes for Modell in Cleveland, he tried to get a new building for years. It’s the team owner who is always villified. Fair or not that will be Mr. Wang’ legacy if they move.
talk about a roller coaster ride. this is a freakin worm-hole ride.
up and down, back and forth. i’m not paying attention to this issue anymore. it’s now beyond debacle and fiasco and approaching paranormal classification.
Vote McElroy!
WOW, CB, I think Wang to a page out of your playbook.
http://www.islanderspointblank.com/2009/02/the-post-that-shall-not-be-named/
Thoses living in TOH must call the Town and tell them that they will not vote for Murray. Then, follow through, and vote her out. We need the support of my fellow Levittowners, both Republican and Democrats. We out number Garden City 3 to 1. I am a Republican, and she lost my vote. Ms Murray makes Chuck Schumer look like a far right conservative. Her actions are anti-jobs and higher taxes.
Hm, I for one don’t seem to see this as part of some PR ploy by the LDC at all. It just looks too embarrassing. They can’t have just done this to make sure we (or the TOH?) have forgotten about the Lighthouse Project, eh? There are much better ways to alert the press. And what a major fart in the wind for the so-called Long Island Press. The comments on the “breaking news update” on their site are pretty biting, and deserve to be. Who reads the LIP at all? For anything??
I think Wang said what he had to say and I applaud him for it…but in my opinion, this team will not stay in Long Island….I only hope it stays in NY. Despite denying the story, some of the particulars such as reassigning staff to other projects was not dealt with and if true can be very telling that Charles is on to plan B but want’s the TOH to be the one’s to flat out reject the proposal on the table. His denial doesn’t mean all that much at this point.
Vote compromise. It’s too friggen big! Murray has greenlighted everything and Wang’s been the baby with deadlines on a vital government action.
Rush it through the public commentary stage and environmental review or else? Does this sound shady if Donald Trump demands we rush his project through the environmental review and public commentary stages? Once a criminal, always a criminal. Do not trust SEC criminal Wang and his 10 years of heartache bestowed on us loyal fans. Remember, SMG is out and the NVMC is already approved and he owns the Marriott. Now the team goes because he can’t buy the rest of the land FROM TAXPAYERS for ONE US DOLLAR and get all his 41 buildings crammed in to make billions? What has he done to earn this golden opportunity? (oh year, he almost fired Milbury after half a decade)
#17 Obviously based on your name, you are clearly bitter and your bitterness shades your view of this situation
Therefore I choose not to take your rantings seriously, nothing personal
Either way if not for Wang, the Isles would be somewhere else that IS NOT in New York and you would have lost your team. Funny you and many others that are so quick to point fingers at Wang forget that if not for him, the Islanders would be gone by now.
IslesHostage or anyone else more informed than me;
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Wang is getting ownership of the “LAND”… he’s signing a contract to lease the land and was awarded the rights to develope the property. Nassau County will still own the land… Right?
So let’s stop calling this a land grab.
DOC
No. They would be in a new building owned and operated by Bob Gutkowski and partners. SMG called him back before D’Amato thwarted the negotiations. Gutkowski had partners ready to be named at the conclusion of the SMG talks and had a formal letter of intent and league approval.
Wang gets the land for the remainder of his natural life for almost free. Semantics. Leviticus, I trust you are 100% ji had for this team and won’t bother trying to refute your claims. The dollars speak for themselves if you’re rational enough to see. And yes, it is too big and I don’t trust anyone who defrauds investors out of billions of dollars and gets off scot free because of his political cronies.
I love the drama!
Fact is that Wang will develop the land at a huge risk to himself and investors, land that is now occupied by nothing but concrete. This is how these deals are made. The tax revenue and jobs created are the reason why this deal benefits the citizens of the Town of Hempstead, Nassau and New York.
Why I love CB’s blog!
If you’ve got proof of this Gutkowski/Damato stuff, lets see it.
People with personal vendettas don’t need proof, they use rumor, hearsay, innuendo, and even conjured up crap. The facts are what they are…and we all still have only one viable option. So, one day later, after all the angst, we are right back where we were. Waiting for the TofH to make a decision.
Question. Why can’t the Isles move to Suffolk? Isn’t Suffolk more of a hockey town willing to pay taxes to keep the Islanders on the Island? I mean Hempstead doesn’t seem to really have a hockey demographic.
Maybe I was wrong. Keep up the good work CB.
the most helpful thing that has happened since oct 3, was the cover story by newsday stating 51% of Long Islanders liked the project, the remainder divided between opposed or unable/unwilling to decide. public opinion shapes politics, especially local politics.
Mr Wang has money and public opinion, while TOH has the ability to delay or shutdown the project. nothing happens til after the elections. folks, this is an issue concerning a lot of money, attracting a legion of political people. people that have sat around for months or years planning out the end game.
if Mr Wang has the support of public opinion, it will difficult for local politicians to resist. be flattered that this site is undoubtly being monitered by both sides, as it was by the team during the NHL draft. now more then ever, what you write counts a great deal. if you want to have an impact, vote if you live TOH. who is the next supervisor could have the greatest impact on the Lighthouse going foward. i just wanna win some games.
At some point this went from “Isles need a new Arena” to “SAVE LONG ISLAND!!!” which is a stretch.
Yankees (world famous) = 1.5B on new stadium
Isles = 3.8B (?) for Lighthouse?
Isles Need: Arena, Revenue
LI Does Not Need: Shopping Malls, HDH
Solution? New Arena, Quality On-Ice Product.
Lighthouse is just not happening without major scaling down. Feel free to deny that reality if you so choose. Wang’s ego at fault here, as much as anyone or anything else.
Funny that it would take 16 hours to refute a blatant untruth, allay the hysterical fears of the fans, who you care so very much about, and get back to very reporters and politicians you want on your side.
Good question, Carla(29), but nobody ever seems to ask it. It’s Lighthouse or bust.
But Charles, after we’ve played some hockey…can we win a game…once?
I am looking forward to the 500,000sq ft of new retail space that the Lighthouse will bring to Long Island.
As everyone knows, what LI lacks is available shopping.
Frei, I love my Islanders, but how silly to compare their situation to one of the greatest sports teams in history, and I am a Met fan too.
Kate has her bloggers out in full force today
Post 30….too funny. Clever boy.
Pete in 27 - The proof you seek is all in Newsday and other sources. I recommend a skeptical look into the facts if not to prove me wrong, then at least to do your claim justice. D’Amato, employed by SMG, went to Wang, was turned down, continued to court Wang and got Wang to bite all while Gutkowski was making progress with SMG - when SMG President Wes Wessley called Gutkowski back to negotiate.
Just follow the events and people.
Guys just look wang up online. The guy is a crook. I love the islanders but that isnt debatable. Its clear you cannot trust him.
Gutkowski had passion and wanted to own the team BUT he had no $$ men. Former EMi chief C.Koppelman told him up front he only wanted the real estate and once he saw the red tape he bowed out.
SMG offered to build an arena, at one stage. I know Gulotta considered condemning the lease at one point, as well. D’Amato essentially told Wang that if he stepped in he’d be a savior, and would have a legitimate shot at developing the HUB. Then Wang refused to play politics by taking D’Amatos brother Armand onto the development team, and essentially lost the former Senator’s support. All of this was in Newsday, and I’ll be dipped if I’m going to do some laggard’s research for him. If you just believe what you want to believe without thinking critically about it, not my problem. In the end, they’re all more or less greedy criminals, who could give two farts about the Islanders. Too bad Wang didn’t buy ToH instead of the Town of Oyster Bay…
Suffolk county is the answer. The Town of Islip should welcome them. Old Pilgrim state site is PERFECT!!!!! close to airport, LIE, close to my house…lol, no Kate Murray and dirty Nassau politics, Close Railroad, The Ducks are doing well. Bring the Islanders east, its smack dab in the middle of the Island! Screw the TOH. Close to Islandia Mr Wang!!!! Make it happen!!!!!
At the public event back in September, there was a huge display of the groundswell of support for the LH project. People marched. They shouted. They SHOWED UP. Then what happened? The politicos took notice. They all postured as supporters of a project they now thought the overwhelming majority wanted, and everybody got real warm and fuzzy about the LH.
Then… we all thought it was a done deal. End of story. Bullet dodged.
Then… the zoning hearing… and we all stayed home. After all, it was a done deal, right? No need to march. No need to shout. No need to threaten the pols with a public flogging.
So the TOH honchos all took notice and decided that the groundswell support was a mirage, and that GC money was still the game to suck up to. You saw the result at the zoning hearing. They roasted the whole LH delegation.
So what’s the owner to do? Re-ignite the groundswell. And to do so, he has to scare the crap out of us. So he floats a bogus story to an obscure internet rag, and he stands back and watches the explosion. Now, hopefully, the TOH is finally convinced that the LH support is real. It’s solid. And to fight against it is a politically dangerous move.
The story was bogus. The intention was real. The owner needs the help of the people. He needs them to stay agitated.
One of the only reasons that I can think of that Kate and the TOH are not voting for the Lighthouse to go thru is that they have some friends that when the Isles move, will then take over the land and do what they want with it.
This project is NOT TOO BIG!
http://www.arenadistrict.com
LI meet your future. Lighthouse project may even be better. This is the brainchild (NHL Team and minor league basball included) that the late great John H McConnell gave to Columbus, OH. He is affectionately known as a local hero.
LI YOU DESERVE THIS TOO! Not too big…
I will not vote for Murray because of her non- actions on the lighthouse. Its all politics. I’m also sick of all the mail the town sends out with her picture on everything. Vote MCElroy
Still waiting on an answer IslesHostage. On the payroll, yes or no.
IslesRock, exactly where is your argument there, if you say “The Yankees generate more revenue than many small nations combined” that’s true, but their annual payroll is also higher than the gross value of this entire Islanders franchise.
Is this about the Islanders, or “Saving Long Island”? About the team, or the owners ego? Is charles wang the savior of long island? Did anyone ask him to be?
I want to watch a competitive hockey team in a nice arena, in the county with more per-capita income than any other in the country.
I’m not convinced it takes $4 Billion to do that.
Neither is the town of hempstead, and, as completely loathsome and disgusting as politicians are, Nassau County ones especially, they might just have a point.
Nothing outrageous or silly about my post at all.
A little TOH and Nassau County history here. Kate Murray is not the real problem - she is only a puppet of the last vestiges of the Nassau County Republican machine led by Joe Mondello and Alphonse D’Amato. Neither of these guys are involved with Wang or Rechler and therefore don’t want to see them do this project. Neither has been a “consultant” for the Lighthouse Project. If the LHP had thrown a few hundred G’s their way, this project would have been approved long ago. I’m sure either one of them will come up with a new plan and new developer once the LHP goes away. If not, they will let the area stay vacant and rot away, much like they did the old Roosevelt Raceway property. They are not for progress, jobs, tax revenue or the people - they have always been in it for themselves and their cronies.
this is the problem with politics. Inability to compromise for the better of everyone. Demcrats and Republicans do it everyday. The only things they support and lobby for are what is in their best interest. Wonder how things would go if both parties could communicate and hammer out a solution.
#45 - What you posted is what I have felt for YEARS. How pompus of “The Developer”. “I’m here to save Long Island”. That’s awesome, my only question is, who is going to save the Islanders? And WHEN? The guy’s had 9 years.
By the way. I don’t work for the TOH nor am paid by Murray. After all I live out in California. And even though the stuff I complain about doesn’t affect me, it may in the future if I choose to move back.
Frei, Your quote, “The Yankees generate more revenue than many small nations combined” Thats why Mr. Wang needs the Lighthouse. You can’t compare MLB to the NHL in team values or revenues. Also you can’t compare per-capita income of Nassau to NYC, thats silly. You say,”I want to watch a competitive hockey team in a nice arena, in the county with more per-capita income than any other in the country”. So with a nice arena, and a bigger payroll, he will still lose $20 million a year. You say, “Is this about the Islanders, or “Saving Long Island”? About the team, or the owners ego? Is charles wang the savior of long island? Did anyone ask him to be? True, its about saving our only pro sports team, but it is also about jobs, tax revenues etc. All done without taxpayer money. Unlike Yankee Stadium. If you think its too big, thats fine, but Wang needs more than a new building to make money. Its economics 101, and a win-win or all.
Where’s the skepticism and distrust towards this pronouncement? Where are the headlines: Wang doesn’t answer the rumors, so what else is he hiding or lying about? Sometimes the media needs to calm down over the less than instantaneous responses over the issues they want to turn into problems.
IslesHostage, I will take your word, but if you live in CA, then you need a hobby.
I can’t believe that people are still having these conversations…..we can get a new arena, but as I have now proven (TWICE) on the blog, the only way it’s just an arena is if taxpayers pay for it. All of you guys are up in arms that - GASP - Charles Wang wants to make money, yet in the same breath you’re asking him to flush a few hundred million down the toilet just because you don’t like the size of the development. Nobody feels sorry for the billionaire, but I sure as hell wouldn’t take that deal….would you?
Could it be scaled down? It’s possible, and it might be necessary to get something done….I imagine they’d do the financial proof that I did to figure out whether it was worthwhile.
Cincy - great post, sir. We all heard about your loss, and I’m deeply sorry.
But of course, why would Wang walk away from the realestate? This is not about the Islanders , however the soap oprea continues. Bottom line, Wang meets Murray in the middle.
Besides who would want to see this bunch play anywhere! Heck they can’t even fill the seats in the small run down coliseum. And if you. Believe they would sell out anywhere else is a joke.
As somebody with an inside perspective on the news business, let’s all talk a deep breath and review the assumption that the Lighthouse leaked this.
Here’s what you have to believe: they decide that they need to pressure the TOH by putting out a leak to a reporter that the LHP is dead. But it makes no sense that they would leak a non-existent nuclear option rather than other things, like the Islanders are holding meetings with Queens, or the Islanders are being courted by the new Quebec arena, things that might actually be happening and would have an air of credibility.
So then having decided to leak something, you don’t go to Eden Laikin, you don’t go to Chris Botta, you don’t go to News 12. You instead go to….the Long Island Press. A publication that has never made a significant dent on the public conscience on Long Island, and that has not written a significant bit of news reporting on the project.
There is no way the LHP leaked this. What I’m sure happened is some half-wit with a tenuous tie at best to the developers wanted to be a big shot, and leaked it to a reporter looking to make a splash, who threw out all the normal rules of fact-checking and went with this leak. And who then comes on this board and makes a snarky remark about the Islanders’ record.
The LHP did NOT leak this. They would never be this clumsy. They have far more media savvy if they wanted to go the leak route.
We the fans, should NOT believe anything that is written ANYWHERE. This soap opera will make the JT saga look like a walk in the park. Believe when either the first shovel hits ground, or the first moving van sits outside the NVMC. Too many self apointed agendas out there, and it all runs down hill and spills into our hearts and wallets, as it has for a while. Where is Neil Smith, Pat LaFontaine, Peter Laviolette, or Ted Nolan??
Is JT still a member of this team? Just asking..
Hmmmmmm…. A lot of new contributors stirring the pot today. Wonder where they materialized from?????
As we can see on this board form all the answers….Long Islanders are like moths..we flock to the brightest, newest, most convenient light.
Build the Lighthouse and renovate the barn and watch how many people come to games and become Islanders fans just for the simple mindset of being part of something new. That is the way LI’ers operate!
I saw Nina Bastardi at the VS train station this morning. She’s running for County Legislature. Said on her flyer that she supports the Lighthouse Project. Whatever happens with the Islanders, I’ll sleep better knowing I voted against Kate Murray and all her buddies.
Vote McElroy! Keep the fight alive Charles! LI Press is a joke! Let’s win a game! Sorry, just venting…
OK I’m sorry but the islanders should be able to operate and break even instead of losing money…without a MINI CITY. THe Isles get allmost 20 million a year in tv between MSG and Versus. The Islanders Payroll is Allmost covered by the TV alone. Now, Imagine that the Isles were a AVERAGE team, they would win playoff rounds every couple years, so they would have way more fans, and get extra millions a year from playoff rounds (ten million a year if you win one round). You see what the problem is? A mini city to offset Wangs horrible hockey team, wont fix the problem long term. What if the mini city losses money? What if the mini city is sold? The Isles should be able to break even and not lose money without a mini city. They could play in the coliseum forever and make money if they would only be competetive the way the rangers are.
Since when is a 20 million dollar TV contract almost NHL Salary MIN? How about the 20 million almost covers the teams travel expenses.
So Wang or any potential NYI owner should fork over 400 mill for a new barn just to break even year after year. What happens when the TV contract expires? I guess we’re back to losing 20 million a year, plus the 400 mill invested in the barn plus the 200 mill previously sunk in this wasteland of a team. Makes perfect sense why we don’t need the Lighthouse!!
Kate Murray has no intentions of doing anything. She going to sit on this for as long as she needs to get reelect. should she win, bye bye lighthouse.
Why do i know this. Just last week i had run in her on platform.
I asked when are you going to approve LH. her response was “we are still waiting to get count of number of building by the developer”. NOW wouldnt that be in the plans?
The week before i ran into Anthony Santino on the train platform. I ask same question. his response was , “have you see the size of the project”. I said, yes it been available for 4 yrs, did you just see it this month finally.
while i agreed, the project should of been scaled down, it should have been done a long time ago. Murray waited to last minute to look at it. Now it too late. Just approve it. its not our money.
Cincy: Nice to read a voice of reason. Thanks YOU!
Jay K: I respectfully think your wrong in your analysis. Leaking a story that Queens or Qeubec is in negotiations and courting the Islanders is not as effective simply because it can be fact checked and squashed very easily. So the only way it “works” is if it has some truth to it.
Wang (or an underling) leaking the story purposefully to the LI PRESS is perfect because it’s plausible, cannot be fact checked and can be “denied” after the story is leaked - allowing Wang to look like the hero again. He’s the night in shining armour to save the day.
Good for Charles Wang!
DOC
Tim Q, You said it. Kate must have her entire family blogging today. Vote McElroy.
Spartiarti:
Are you asking us fans to believe that you keep running into these two on the train platform? This is like the 4th or 5th time you’ve posted that you run into them on the platform. Am I to believe that Kate Murray and Anthony Santino take the train to work???
Call me a idiot if I am wrong, but I’m not so sure I believe that Murray and Santino are taking the train to work. Aren’t their offices on Long Island?
DOC
Yea you running into Elvis too on the train? Seems you run into them a couple times a week.
As a diehard NYI fan for the better part of the past three decades residing in NJ, I feel so incredibly helpless with respect to CW vs. KM. I suppose all I can do at this point is implore my fellow NYI fans residing in the TOH to spread the word amongst family and friends to vote KM out of office. She and her cronies seriously ought to be ashamed of themselves. I still can’t get over the one guy asking CW how tall the buildings would be. I realize the chances are slim of KM losing the election, but as the NY Lottery saying goes, “Hey, you never know!”
DOC i run into sparky and the ice girls on my platform at least 3-4 times per month…it could happen
Doc and others. CB asked we stick to guidelines and that is what we should do.
and FYI, the politicans running for office stand on platform come election time trying to hand shake and plea for your support.
Yeah, let’s adhere to the guidelines, or else..
It feels like the schedule so far has really made the Lighthouse Project so much more difficult. Huge gaps between games, the players must find it tough to get going. Let’s hope for Lighthouse does keep moving forward and now that some games are coming up, Let’s Play Hockey!!
I think we are all having fun speculating on the LH. At the same time most of us are ardent supportors of the project and are praying that at the end all will end well.{shakespere said it better] However its one of the many things in life that is beyond our control-which is also very frustrating. So when Wang and Murray finally take their best shots we will have our answer. In the meantime maybe its better we don’t really what’s going on. Remember the old adage “you don’t want to know how laws are passed, or sausages are made, or how root canals are done.”
i love long island!! i haven’t lived there in 16 yrs but i’d rather travel to uniondale (where i lived as a boy and my dad bought season tickets the 1st yr, when we didnt have a pot to piss in) then go to a game in queens or brooklyn. that line by wang got me
i’m just a firm believer that the isles are a long island team not a ny team and the greatest team that ever played hockey. 19 series in a row!!!! it will NEVER be matched during my lifetime
i love long island and miss it
I want to come to Spartiarti-RVC’s defense here. He’s not lying about seeing the politicos at the train station. Election time for those of us who commute by train to the city means the politicians are out in force at all the train station platforms canvassing for votes and handing out their BS propaganda literature. It gets really absurd the closer it gets to election day. You can’t find these politicians to save your life when you need them, but they are up your a** when they want your vote. Just sayin . . .
So Michael Martino, the author of this Lighthouse abandonment article still stands by it after the party in control,Charles Wang describes it as being bogus and untrue? With all due respect to your comment guidleines,Chris,I must ask a question here. “Is this excuse for a jounalist and reporter some kind of hard butt idiot?” Why is it so difficult to admit his source was obviously mistaken, not to mention offering an apology for taking years off Islanders fans lives from needless worry? One of the prerequisites of being a solid professional is to MAN UP when the situation demands it. This Martino fellow disgraced the LI Press and now has stupidly added insult to injury. More importantly, thank goodness Charles passion is still alive and something may actually get done,if not in Nassau, then perhaps Queens or Brooklyn. It certainly appears Kate Murray is doing everything in her power to iritate Charles. After just stating he will not inform the media of any meetings,Murray decides to disrespect his decision and immediately informs Newsday she has now offered a possible rezoning of a scaled down Project. My guess is, unfortunately it will something designed for him to refuse.
A friend of mine who lives in Baldwin has seen Kate Murray numerous times. As was noted, this is normal for an election year.
i hope everyone reads #48. it is right on. (though the “machine” goes back even furthejr than d’amato and mondello)
Nassau County Politics the greatest living arguement for TERM LIMITS! Town of Hempstead & Village of Garden City why do we need these levels of government? Oh! To Tax us & get in the way of progress. If the opposite of pro is con what is the opposite of progress…… CONGRESS. Socialism is alive & well in the Town of Hempstead.
