Okposo doesn’t have a gold tooth or cap… it’s his mouth guard. Several players wear them or were wearing them last year.

It’s not just Islanders vs. Rangers games where there is foul language… it’s ALL games. It’s embarrasing for those who spew that garbage out of their mouths – young and old alike. And unfortunate for those that bring their kids to a game and have to subject them to it.

Grow up and have some class!

i see your point. i am torn. the “you suck” during the old goal song seemed lamed to me – our team scores and instead of celebrating our skill,we tell the other team they suck – seems counterintuitive, so if they suck, then we are not good for scoring? the “rangers suck” in the chicken dance or if you’re happy and you know it song feels different for some reason, or taunting the goalie, “henry, henry, henry, you suck” randomly during some down time seems creative. but for a dad to take pride in his 11 year-old saying rangers suck publically seem wrong to me. not fair, double standard maybe but its how i feel.

between the opening night game against pitt, then against the bruins, and caps those are 3rd per. leads that should not have been blown, that would be 3 more wins and 12 points compared to the 9 we got. 12 points puts the NYI in 7th place in conf

2-1-2 in last 5, maybe a trend coming? get hunter back and then i want to see these lines.

moulson- tavares – KO
weight – bailey – tamby
comeau – neilson – bergie
hunter – park – sim

then fill in thompson, jackman on an as needed basis for tough teams. we need more than 2 goals a game and must play all offensive players we got.

if they stay healthy, they arent bad enough for a top pick again so lets just stay close to the 8th spot then if DP is back by after turkey day as is being reported trade biron to the wings with a 3rd round pick as has been reported for holmstrom. wings are in cap trouble, and the cap is going down next yr. ranjerks in worse trouble.

tell you know, yes Rolo was great and our #1 line as well, but Sutton was MEAN in that 10 seconds leveling callahan and prospal. prospal is only good when he has a top talent around him, no gabby = prospal’s inflated #’s go doooowwwwwwwwwnnnnnnn. great win isles

we’re a few bounces away from being 6-3-2 in my estimation…Witt playing 9 mins/game…why bother, play a kid who could learn from 9 minutes, not be embarassed like Witt(whom I have tremendous respect for), but time to move on…same for Sim…couldn’t Martin or Joenseuu do the same and be a player who is actually a “youth” and be part of this team for a while…Roloson must have heard about last goalie interviewed by Deb who knocked her tooth out…glad someone else noticed Okposos’ gold tooth…and it was ABOUT TIME Gordon called a stinkin’ timeout in 3rd period…been screaming at my TV in the ATL for 1+ seasons for Gordon to do so, I figured he should have been able to hear me…Go ISLANDERS!!!! 1940…1994!!!

Your 110% right #122. I remember when I was in 5th-6th grade people were dropping f bombs and stuff like that so if the worst thing your kid says is sucks consider yourself lucky!!

Plus: 60 minute effort
Plus: JT KO & Moulson
Even: Although I can do without them, the fan fights. They usually are entertaining and as long as no one gets seriously injured no harm or foul. Also to some Ranger Islander games are hostile environments and they have been for years. IMO I would never bring a young child to this game especially if you don’t want them to hear bad language or see fighting.
Minus: Drunken Rags dolls starting crap

toorude @ #126 – Wasn’t it us that do the “Rangers Suck” crap with every song we can pidgeonhole into it? Listen…the Ranger fans are often animals, but we need to look in the mirror sometimes. Nothing was more amateur than when we used to do the chicken dance song. At least the organization realized after a while that doing “rangers suck” when we’re not even playing them was minor league and embarrassing. But I believe they still do it during the games we play against them. Can anyone at the game last night clarify?
