When I go to games I don’t know what to expect, except disappointment.

Even when the Isles score now with their crappy goal songs!

The “hey” needs to return. Even my wife said at opening night, “this song is stupid” with great disappointment in her voice. Bring back the right goal song.

#156,,the sad part about the You Suck chant was it is not even original…it was lifted from the Danbury Trashers ..without getting into detail the Hey You Suck worked in that environment, but it sounds dumb at an Islander game

I really don’t get the you suck argument, seeing as the Islanders had no problems sending half naked , stripper wannabees into the aisles , gyrating between play, under the guise of Isaander dancers last year.

Also, whatever happened to just standing and cheering after a goal? Why does everything need to be organized?

It’s bad enough that Nickelback is always on the radio, now u have to go to isles games and here em, i say we boo the song every time its played. Understood, we will seem to be booing a goal but to get rid of Nickelback, it might not be a bad idea. Bring back a traditional goal song. We need the Chicken Dance back too.

I’ve been to games in other cities and I must say that not only do the Isles play in the worst arena in the league, their music selection during the games is also the worst of any place I’ve seen a game. They need to get some new music, but I do like that they organ is still played. A lot of other cities with “state of the art” arenas don’t play any organ music during the games, which I think is a shame. At least some organ music should be a staple at any professional hockey game.

Wow I forgot all about the genius “you suck chant.” I already commented on this but now I will change my view. I don’t think anybody cares about the actual words “you suck.” I mean, when I was 8 years old going to Islander Ranger games at the coliseum I heard more profanity in those 2 hours then I would all years. I think what bothers people about the you suck thing is that it is just retarded. Every time I heard it I would just shake my head in embarrassment and disgust at the people (high school kids) doing it. I miss the song, but to be honest, I would rather have no song then have to deal with the you suck garbage.

I moved to California in early ’08, and didn’t get back for any home games last season. I managed to get to the home opener, and I was vastly confused (and disappointed) immediately following our first (and each subsequent) goal. I hope they switch back to the classic “HEY” song, but at the very least, get rid of the awful, awful, awful new song.
