  3. avatar Islander says:

    Team Effort = Sweet Win!

  4. avatar Mark says:

Next three games against struggling teams, would be ideal to get 4 or 5 points out of it

  5. avatar Staten Islander says:

    Great win tonight

  6. avatar Gary P says:

Park w 3 pts. Now u know why he is on the first line. Also sutton is the best d we have.

  7. avatar Frustrated Voter says:

    I BELIEVE!

Richard Park with 3 assists? Is that a typo?

  8. avatar Eastonhockey says:

Lol watch park score 55 points this year playing on that first line. I think moulson is legit.

  9. avatar Alan says:

Was actually impressed with Andy Mc, when Witt comes back, bench Meyer

  10. avatar Islesfan_in_Vancouver says:

this is where I need to eat my words. I did it tonight during the live chat and I’ll do it again here. I’ve been extremely harsh of Park playing on the first line, and said he couldn’t make a pass or help that line generate any offense. The second and third goals both showed me I was wrong. I don’t know if it took them time to gel, if everything just went their way tonight or if it’ll happen again, but I owe Park an apology and need to eat my words. Great game by the team.

  11. avatar Vlad from Brooklyn says:

Complete 60 min effort by Isles. Pleasure to watch.
Plus: Moulson interview after the game.
McDonald is all right. Hope to see him in the lineup soon.
Very important Plus: Tavares keep putting puck in the net and getting better every game.

  12. avatar steve says:

i like winning. i like winning alot. i hate whining when we are not winning. if your a fan, your in it. thick and thin, rich or poor. i though we got a little flat in the third for a few minutes, but we played well in our own zone. i think tonites boston team, without savard( a point a game player) is a great indication of what a single big offensive player means to a team. the difference between solid and dangerous.lets get to solid, and get that big money player to become dangerous. but lets be 82 games of solid first.

  13. avatar Staten Islander says:

CB, question, at what point do we declare Moulson “for real”?

I’m enjoying this while it lasts

  14. avatar Moulson26 says:

I do not think there is any question that he is for real. The guy goes to the net and jams home pucks. What more do we have to say? Hes a great kid who is having fun and works hard every night. Enough said.

  15. avatar James says:

Great effort by this team. I was impressed by Andy Mac tonight and the D for the most part played well.

Moulson is the real deal, and I think having JT with him is part of the reason for that. Park did great tonight and the other lines were solid

And Roloson was great again as usual. Things coming together nicely; 8-6-7 so far and the next 3 games are ones we can and should win. Lets keep this great effort up

On a final note I would really like to know what is going on with Tambellini CB; is he sick? Did something happen? Cuz he did nothing at least to me that warranted him being out of the lineup for 3 straight games. Many have asked before and not gotten an answer and we haven’t heard why he isn’t playing. I think us fans would just like to know why he isn’t in the lineup.

  16. avatar dan says:

cb where did your plus/minus go after the game? I always looked forward to it.

  17. avatar Matt says:

great win. keep up the great work islanders.

  18. avatar Les Beaver says:

I’d like to see Comeau with Neilson and Okposo. I thought Comeau and KO had some good chemistry last year, and Neilson is one of those guys that makes other people better. KO is wasted on a line with Bergenheim. Love Bergie’s energy, but he’s so spastic out there. No control to his game.

  19. avatar Adam says:

Agree with you beaver. Bergie needs to start producing. Plus, would it kill him to make a pass? Every time I see him, he is trying to go 1 on 5. I guess that is ok if you are Alex Ovechkin. Someone needs to tell Bergenheim to quit the solo act.
And it is official. My opinion of Moulson has changed. As long as he keeps this up, I will shut my yapper.
Finally, I told all of you, Park makes things happen. He can play on any line and make it better.

  20. avatar CSK says:

did you know that the Isles are 7-2-4 over their last 13 games?

    good stuff

  21. avatar admin says:

Dan (16): Plus/Minus is after home games, live chats are with road games. Enjoy your win and the night, everyone…CB

  22. avatar orngfan says:

lets keep these good vibes rolling into minnesota! kyle okposo homecoming.

  23. avatar Dorfer81 says:

Frans Nielsen is so spectacularly solid it’s going completely unnoticed.

  24. avatar nystrom23 says:

is it too early to sign matt moulson to a long term deal…the guy does it all.

  25. avatar Numbers65 in Ohio says:

Isles are looking good! WOW! I hope this can keep up. It’s more fun to hope for playoffs than lottery! If this keeps up, it will only get better!
    LET’S GO ISLES!
    Park-Moulson-Tavares

  26. avatar isles71 says:

    Just win baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Isles!!!!!!!1940…..1994

  27. avatar TM says:

From 1 whose seen it all since the inception in ’72, this game restored some of my faith in NYI again. They officially don’t suck anymore and are at least interesting and enjoyable to watch again as opposed to last season when I lost interest by X-mas.

Very good effort tonight and all season so far except for the clunker in Montreal. They owed the B’s some payback after blowing a 3 goal lead last time in Bahston. This was a nice game all around. B’s goal was a gift and shouldn’t have counted. Tavares makes it all worthwhile and Moulson is a find. Dare I say this season’s “Streit”. Great goaltending. Nice to spend money in a bar to watch and have them WIN.

Imagine if they can ever figure out how to win shootouts? (Maybe when DP comes back) I might be downright giddy.

Now watch how they get ignored by the media. Lately, Fox 5 news NEVER mentions NYI or gives any highlights at all. News 4 NBC only mentions the score with no highlights. Ditto for CBS 2 news.

See what happens when NYI marketing ignores everything west of Nassau?

  28. avatar Rachel G says:

Time to give Garth Snow some credit:
Moulson, Roloson, and so far not having an eforcer has not hurt us. I think the great and hard hitting play of Sutton has helped in that regard.

  29. avatar jethro09 says:

Its amazing how every guy who plays on Tavares’ line plays great. Moulson is the Isles’ most consistent scorer all year, playing with JT all year. Park is starting to score points now that he’s on JT’s line.

JT is the common denominator for a lot of guys that are experiencing success this season. 19 years old, 20 points in 21 games. Just opens the entire sheet of ice up for his linemates. JT’s vision and passing are years ahead of his age. Any doubts about JT’s unbelievable potential should be put to rest.

  30. avatar beatlebailey says:

The Monkey is looking smart with Moulson. Hope I eat crow all season. Go Isles!!!!!

  31. avatar ken says:

not having an enforcer has not really affected us, b/c our powerplay has been able to make teams pay. We are in the top 10 on powerplay.

  32. avatar Oren says:

CB, please respond to this and tell me what you think: Do you notice that Mark Streit has trouble clearing the zone, and for most of the season including tonight does these behind the back no-look passes? Furthermore he does NOT skate it out of his zone and his skating has slowed down, he plays as if he does not care. Whats the deal? My assessment is if the Isles ever learn how to clear the zone they will be so much better off. PS: Hillen has been our best d-man when he has played. Love his poise and smarts…excellent skater and knows how and when to use his speed.

  33. avatar Smitty074 says:

i think the worse thing about tonight is having to wait 3 days for the next game

    LETS GO ISLANDERS!!!!

  34. avatar NYICHAMP39 says:

Great game overall. Everyone is working hard which is more than we can say about the Islanders over the past few seasons. Finally! Im making the call right now. Does anyone notice an uncanny similarity between Jack Hillen and a young Dan Boyle? Both shorter defensemen with great fluid skating. While I dont think Hillen has quite the offensive ability that Boyle does I think Jack is going to turn into a top 2 defenseman. At worst I see him as being a teams number 4 in his prime. He has been showing some flashes of brilliance lately.

  35. avatar Islesin2010 says:

It’s officially time for some self-promotion. I’ve been patient and this team has made my prediction come true. About a month ago after a 6-3 loss to the Sabres I went on this blog and said in the comments section the Isles needed time, and would win 7-of-10 at some point of the season. Keep in mind this is before they even had one win on the year. Over their last 11, our boys are 7-2-2, for 16 out of a possible 22 points. Great Job!

They looked great tonight, rarely flustered in their own zone, and smart decisions in all three zones. Big 6 points up for grab over the weekend. I originally said I would be happy with 10 points on this road trip, I think that goal is still fair, and very reachable… we’ll see how it plays out.

  36. avatar Islesin2010 says:

Also, couldn’t agree with #33 more, Streit glides through the neutral zone on the PP and completely disrupts any flow the forwards get going into the zone. Hillen has been great, people that said he has no place in the NHL need to eat their words.

  37. avatar Islander505 says:

    Isles Fan in Vancouver #10

I too, have been very critical of Park on the 1st line. I believe my words on this blog were something like “ZERO offensive skills”.
I’m not ready to “eat crow” yet, based on a coupla good games….but….I am looking for some salt.

Best 60 minutes of the year tonight.

Just my opinion…from two time zones away.

  38. avatar Anthony says:

Great job all around… On pace for 90 pts… Moulson is a monster, sign him! It takes some players a little longer to realize their potential, ie. Brett Hull, John LeClair. He’s still young enough to grow with the team. He’d jump at a one-way, three year, 3 million a year deal! Sign him now, cheap! He’s a 25-30 goal guy, 50-60 points…

  39. avatar Anthony says:

oops, I meant 3 years at a million a year. (3 million a year would be a Sather contract!)

  40. avatar jonsson3 says:

I,ve said it here before and I’ll say it here again, Richard Park is one of the most under-rated players (not only on this team) but in the league.!!

Hillen is a BEAST!! What a play on that first goal!!

Streit,Hillen,Sutton,Macdonald, and 2 free agent d-man signings for next year.. look out NHL its 1980 once again!!!

    …is it Friday yet??

  41. avatar Matt says:

Great win! only things i would change are this…

    1. Tamby in an Comeau out. neither do much in regulation but tamby is a good choice if it goes to a shoot out.

    2. Sim out, and someone tougher in. Sim does nothing and the Islanders are a little small an short on toughness. Jackman shouldn’t have to answer the call every night and they don’t really have anyone else.

  42. avatar IslesPassion21 says:

I was saying all along Parky belongs on a scoring line and Simmer should be on the energy line.

  43. avatar IslesPassion21 says:

I too noticed that Striet hasn’t been as effective and there are a couple glaring problems, like his lax or weak passes from in our own zone and bringing the puck thru the nuetral zone on the PP. I think he’s simply having a little slump and he too will iron out the wrinkles in his game and play the way he’s capable of.

Don’t worry, Striets still a great Dman, IMHO
