Well the plus side of this, the Islanders have 3 solid defense prospects. Glass is half full ya know?

  2. avatar Ethan K says:

Yikes. Let’s hope our shoulder specialist is really good at his job. He’s got a lot (caution: lame joke…) resting on his shoulders.

  3. avatar Park Must Go says:

awful news… At least Dustin Kohn is playing solid defense with the big boys.

  4. avatar Examiner says:

And the hits just keep on coming…

  5. avatar eric says:

    what else is new?

  6. avatar Jim M says:

What is the extent of all these shoulder injuries and how much can it affect their progress and future? Right now we have our top 3 D prospects(not with the big club) out for their seasons. Not good…

  7. avatar islesfan999 says:

All the more reason we need to trade all the vets.

  8. avatar beatlebailey says:

it is called Islanders luck…if you throw in the injury to the big goalie prospect we have 4 top prospects out…not good

  9. avatar Irish Isle says:

Hay CB, Who chooses where CDH, Hamonic & Kaitc get the shoulders worked on? And with CHD and TH do the Isles pick up the bill for the procedures?

  10. avatar Scott VanVoorhees says:

last year was the year of the hip, this is the year of the shoulder, next will be the year of the funny bone!

  11. avatar Mario says:

Thank god they are still young. It would not be good if they were older.

  12. avatar Neil says:

I think we need bigger shoulder pads

  13. avatar Jim Clark says:

Any reasons why? Bad luck? Wrong coaching techniques? History of drafting injury-prone players hoping the Islanders will get lucky? How does this compare to other teams?

  14. avatar Steven says:

Unreal. Why always the Islanders? Do guys not know how to check without injuring someone else? Is it because the players are bigger and faster? Do we need bigger rinks?

The Shoulder Boys (Katic, De Haan, Hamonic)

  16. avatar MJS says:

Well, at least they should all be better for training camp next year. Sucks that they’re missing out on some development time, though. Especially with DeHaan and Hamonic missing the playoffs in junior.

  17. avatar Blizzard says:

…wow that sucks. I hope we have a good shoulder guy. Shoulder injuries can be serious.

  18. avatar Frank nyc says:

“another one bites the dust uh”

  19. avatar Boss12 says:

DeHaan and Katic are very small still and are getting hit by giant guys day in and day out. Not really a huge surprise. Hamonic on the other hand got injured on a cheap shot.

  20. avatar Spartiarti-RVC says:

still early, plenty of time to recover. Shoulder injuries are quite common amongst hockey players.

  21. avatar RD says:

This franchise can’t catch a freaking break. Damn! Add Hillen, Witt, and Martinek to that group. What is with all our d-men getting hurt? This is 2 straight years.

Least they will be ready to go by training camp.

  22. avatar Mike L says:

Congratulations Mark Katic. You’re now officially an Islander.

  23. avatar AJAX says:

i better dust off my skates, at this rate any of us may be called to play

  24. avatar Islander505 says:

“as strong NYI defense prospects who have had their seasons derailed by shoulder injuries.”

Well, at this point, “strong” from below the shoulder, anyway.

  25. avatar jeff says:

tonight is going to be ugly

  26. avatar Jersey Steve says:

Does Park have video of Gordon doing the Beanpot Shuffle naked or something? Maybe someone else should decide on the line-ups and lines.

  27. avatar the bomber says:

lets hope they use the Mets doctors for these guys….
