What was that about “bright side”? Ugh.
Poor kid. Sorry to hear this as he really fits in. I guess he’s really an Islander now.
Hope he’s back at full speed in October.
Yikes…….lol.
Guess he’s a real Islander now. Wokka wokka wokka.
Matt Martin!!
Wow, lots of reasons to love this season *sarcasm off*
Now that his season’s over, was Schremp worth the pickup? I say yes
DAMN! I really hope he makes it back with us, he was looking like a piece of the puzel.
Get well soon Robbie - soon enough to be 100% for the trip to China. Does Jeff Tambellini finally play or will it be a BST call up?
….bummer…love the kids enthusiasm and the creativity he brings to this young squad. Im such a homer I had him on my fantasy team…lol. Gonna pick up Baily..lol.
do we ever catch a break? i really like schremp. hope he makes a full recovery and is back for training camp.
What else is new! Same ole Isles.
Love him on this team though. I hope he can recover to full speed after this for next season.
I feel sorry for the kid, he finally got his chance after stinking out the joint in Springfield.
I hope that Snow brings him back next year.
Get well Rob!
Get well soon Rob. You know that all of us back in Fulton are pulling for a speedy recovery.
Wow, it never ends.
The kidnaping of Petrov feels more real now.
Get well Bob the Builder.
Not trying to act like I have any “insider” info, but I’ve heard that many believe the strength program the team goes through puts a huge amount of stress on player’s knees, ankles and back. Again not trying to say I have any “insider” knowledge, but if that’s true that could explain why a huge amount of our players seem to have leg and lower back issues.
This just in…”Shakey” Krouse out indefinitely with tendonitis from taping too many sticks.
This is a total bummer. He might be our best set up man. He has really good vision and usually finds the open man. Would have liked to see him with Moulson & Tavares
Hopefully he doesn’t use the same doctors as DP
Gonna miss Schrempy the rest of the way, he really proved his worth when he got his chance…hope he is back next season…
That stink….Get well Robbie! You made us proud!
Wait a minute. Schremp can’t be injured and out for the season. Snow didn’t sign him to a four-year contract before the Flyers game last night. Or did he … ?
Seriously though, that sucks. Glad he was able to come in and show us excellent puck handling and passing skills to go with better than average shooting ability. He’ll be back but for the next few games at least we should see Tamby back for his next (and perhaps final) shot with the Isles.
The bad news just continues to pile on…
On a seperate note, how does Matt Cooke not get suspended for his hit on Savard?!
Does that mean there is the possibility of a Tambellini sighting?
Unbelievable…the post olympics good news just keeps flowing…
Ugh. My favorite Islander to watch… guess I’ll have to wait until next year.
now bring martin up… then all we need is for sim to retire and bring rechlicz up!! we’ll be TOUGH again!!!!!
wow. that’s just a bummer. Is this the chance for Tambellini, or has he been nailed to the pine for the season?
Too bad for Rob, hopefully he can make a full recovery by training camp. Although he still has a lot to prove, he was worth the waiver claim and I look forward to seeing what type of player he can be going forward.
Tough break. He still had one of the top 5 highlight reel goals of the year. Bring up Martin.
Hope you get better Rob. You really seemed to start showing what you were highly touted for. You have great hands and vision and you pull off some of the most creative things ive seen from an islander. I hope you are back with us next year, good luck
Schremp is a piece of the puzzle on a good team, he gains the offensive zone, pulls up and feeds the trailer for a shot. Problem is that we have NO ONE who can finish !!! And we never will, WANG will not spend money, and the Isles will never have a true elite hockey player.. Be happy your season is over Rob, get off the sinking ship as fast as you can, and it is sinking people.. It’s one thing to be a fan, it’s another to be realistic. I will never give another dollar or time to the sinking BS that Garth continues to dish..We may not win another game this season.. Even with a high draft pick “again”, Garth will only add third and fourth line players.. These players do not help the true talent we have, (#12,21,51,57,26,2,38). Keep promoting the family fun pack Isles, but I wouldn’t want to subject my family to a boring night of hockey at the NVMC.. By the way, get well Schrempeee
dont you love how versus spent more time talking about the 3 injured flyers who came back to the game and never once mentioned schremp was hurt or wasnt out on the ice since the 1st period?
tamby time
That sucks I really enjoyed watching him play he better bebacknext season hesbeen oneof our batter players
meniscus tear: that’s what DP had knee surgery for ………..
On a related note, the team surgeon just bought another summer home in Aruba.
This stinks, poor kid was starting to find his game. Injuries happen but this is getting ridiculous. I didn’t see the start of the game was it the result of a hit or just an accident?
lol….
At least Robbie has more time now to study US geography, NY elected officials, and Islander history for the next Rob Carlin challenge. Get well soon!
I hope this does not set him back and he loses his spot on the Islanders. It shouldn’t because the Islanders do not have much to write home about as far as talent is concerned anyway.
Get Well Soon Kid! Lets see what moves you can come up with this summer. If the NHL had a Slam-Dunk contest Robbie would be my Islander Rep. The goal against the Avs NHL play of the year.
That’s just rich, it’s obvious by now this team is cursed.
It would seem this is better than ACL surgery. Any thoughts on a recovery anyone?
You’ve got to be kidding…. The curse continues
Schremp was playing awesome. This really sucks.
F—-
Who’s Next?
Look at the Islanders site, says “Scremp is out for season” in the sub heading………. pathetic this team..
Looks like we’ll lead the league in 2 categories—
leads blown in the 3rd period
man-games lost to injuries
::WHITE FLAG::
Breaking News: Garth Snow tears his ACL, retires as New York Islanders GM.
Bring up Smith.
Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise for a lottery pick
BAH. Hope Schremp gets well soon, definitely another bright spot on the team.
NO. C’mon. No way
The Curse is back!
another step closer to the top pick
Ugh.
This just in: Tambellini still scratched.
Not a curse. It’s incompetence. Don Maloney, Mike Milbury, than Wang, more Milbury than Garth Snow. I cringe when I see Wang sitting at the draft table.
Schremp is a good story. Looking forward to the Isles signing him. Hope we see him in China!
JETS- Just end the Season
lol #37, Bad news, he was developing into a good player, hopefully that continues when he recovers.
Get well soon Rob!
Full tear of the meniscus = removal.
Partial tear = repair and much quicker recovery with little chance of arthritis setting in.
Rob was my favorite Islander. kid can play. very sad.
Hasn’t he been our top scorer over the last like, 25 games? He really improvement dramatically over the course of the season…I hope he signs, heals, and is ready for China.
Really?
With the first overall pick the new york islanders select….
Tyler Seguin!!!
Ahh Schremp
@#^@#$@^#**&&^^%^%(&^%^&%$%^*$%^$%*^R^&)((((&&%^&%$%$#$#$%#$%#$%^#$%#&$%#!!!!!!!
Thats all I can say!!!!!
this team doesn’t need a lighthouse, it needs lots & lots of bubble wrap
Here’s to a speedy recovery for Robbie.
Did our powerplay just get worse than it already was? Was that even possible?
Come on Snow, send down Gillies, bring up Martin and Joensuu. Play them AND Tambellini. Let Hunter have an early end to the season.
Enough of this!
alright everyone together now
GO LEAFS GO
GO LEAFS GO
oh wait were not suppose to be lottery watching yet…
Sucks, I wanted to see him finish strong and continue to develop consistency in his game. Speedy recovery Rob!
AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
(Ripping my hair out)
Plus: Now we can’t win shootouts either!
Plus: Better shot at 3rd overall pick.
Too bad. I was really impressed with his play. We all know he had great skill and terrific hands, but he sees the ice well, competes hard in the offensive end (never seems to give up on a play) and backchecks pretty well. I like him, and don’t know why Edmonton gave up on him. Can’t wait to see him with better wingers.
The Islanders just can’t catch a break. WANG in witness protection. TOH out to lunch the building falling down the team in the ER what a mess. I am almost starting to believe all this is happening so the fanbase will be so dejected that WHEN they leave IN 2015 everyone will be relieved. FINALLY THE END OF A 20 YEAR UGLY DIVORCE.
FREE TAMBELLINI! Same amount of goals in 20 less games.
It sucks that this happened but if it was going to happen there is no better time. We are not making the playoffs, and the season is over. Imagine if this happened with the playoffs right around the corner? Hopefully things heal quickly and he is back out there with us next season.
8-12 week injury -
Hopefully he will be fully recovered for training camp in September…
It is a sad day when “Robbie Schremp” goes down means that our best “CENTER” is now done for the season….Yeah im talking to you Mr. #1 Draft Pick “BUST”!
Tavares better do some damn power skating drills this summer & pick some dag-on weights up >>>The little “PRINCE” lookS like a complete BUST!
Too bad about Schremp. I definitely wish him well & hope to see him in the orange & blue next year.
Also sick of the Tavares hate. Anyone who thinks he is a complete bust hasn’t been watching the games. Sure, we all wish he had better numbers, but playing in the NHL with no protection has been tough on this kid. I seriously don’t think Duchene’s numbers would be any better if he was playing on this team. When you’re playing on the only line that is a serious threat to score the opposing team can take you out of the game pretty easily.
All I want right now is to go 3-13 down the stretch. This shouls get us a top 2 spot. Two wins against the Rangers and beat Montreal too. Only two teams I seriously despise in the league. The games against Toronto and Columbus are must losses. Columbus needs to stay ahead and Toronto needs to pass us. Second last is an improvement on last year. It should only take us 28 more years to get the cup. Go Islanders…too bad about Schremp
1-better to have surgery now then in Aug. Get well soon
2-Matt Martin… YEAH
3-CB… Please start the draft watch now.
4-new team name. NY Titanic… The logo is a fishing boat, realscrawny looking. There is a big wave almost about to engulf the boat. The Fisherman is on the bridge.. Ad he’s Chinese
Sorry state—Robbie was comin into his own and looked good lately. Hall/Seguin watch is on
certainly seems like the team is cursed or just destined to finish last again. I hope Rob heals and the Isles re-sign him, he was a joy to watch on the ice, full of passion and drive. Major Bummer.
Get well soon Rob, thanks for showing us some awesome skills and talent. That baseball-style goal was amazing.
Great waiver wire pick up! He is only 23 or 24. He could be solid 40-50 pt guy playing on the third line and pp. 25 pts in 44 games is excellent as far this team goes! See ya next year, Shrempy!
Wait… who is this Jeff Tambellini many of you keep talking about?
It always happens to the players who are just starting to “get it”.
I really hope no one claims he would have been the player that got us in the playoffs.
I don’t have time to wax about Robbie’s play this morning, but he was a fun player to watch on this team and he will be missed. GRR, are our players snakebitten.
No more “loser” points.
Well the key part of that stat is he really started picking up those numbers whne he was given more minutes … I wonder how many of those games he played 10 mins or more.
When you look at this team we now have 5 starting fwds to build around. Hopefully Tavares will be our #1 center but we know that Schremp is our #2 and Neilson is our #3.Along with Baily and Okposo we have the start of something. Hopefully a draft pick like Hall or Seguin will start to solidify the future. As for our Defense, sign 2 big mobile guys to help Andy Mac, Jack Hillen, possibly Hamonic and Streit.
The run of injuries on this team over a 4 year stretch has been like a bad nightmare…It looked okay through much of this season with only Martinek out the bulk of the year, but it seems that things have really caught up to speed…
I think Schremp has played well enough to earn another contract here for next season. I consider this really as his “rookie” season since it was his first real opportunity to play.
Hope his recovery is complete for next season. I am a bit concerned—knee related injuries are trickey (see Mike Peca…)
heydray, knee injuries are tricky? We don’t have to look to Peca for that, how about DP?!?
I wish Schremp a full recovery, he was a bright spot on this team every time he was on the ice.
Start playing Tambi.(it’s now or never for him as he is a RFA at the end of the year.)
And bring up Joensuu and Martin.
Now is the time to send down Gillies.
partial tear meniscus injuries are generally a 6-8 week recovery and are relatively easy to rehab. Full tears are another story, I have never played a sport with some one who had a full tear. In college guys would partially tear their meniscus and finish out the season before they had surgery. I would like to believe that if the Isles were competing for a playoff spot Schremp would still be playing. This smells of ’seasons over, get the surgery now and be ready for camp, we don’t need you right now.’
I do love me a shremp cocktail every now and again. I hope they sign this kid, he definately has some skills, and a scoring touch badly needed in the country!!
good player, tough break. during the warm ups before games, i got to watch him. laughs alot, keeps it loose and fun. excellent addition who should wear our colors for a long time, and wear them well. definately another positive and step foward to take from this season.
tamby gets YET another 17 game tryout, he better do something with it. only the coach and GM’s opinion count.
will trevor smith finally make his 2010 debut?
Tamby–with the hat trick!!!!(If he plays, that is).
Also , can’t help feeling uneasy with Garth’s proposal at the G.M meetings. Is it me or does it sound like he is content to be in the 8th to 15th seed?
Ohh darnit, we’ll never make the playoffs now!:-)
Numbers:
Prorated over 82 games = 12-33-45
Will he be re-upped? Will Moulson? I say yes, on both accounts.
TYLER SEGUIN!!!!!
yes it means Tambellini gets start. And after 3 losses, he will be solely blamed by Gordo for all 3 losses.
its amazing how he always gets the punishment when the whole isles team is playing terrible.
It was nice to see Rob earning a spot as a full time NHLer. Wish him the best in his future with the Islanders
And the hits just keep on coming. So much for our playoff push, guess Gillies gets to play again. Tambs would be the logical fit to replace Schremp but we know he’s in Wangs’ 12,000 sq ft doghouse.
I think Rob Schremp has been one of the more underrated players for us this year. He was averaging around .6 pts a game. He was in the top 10 of rookie scoring. Bad break. C U next year robbie.
