ISLANDERS 6 PHILADELPHIA 4

FanHouse: Flyers Lack Confidence in Loss to Islanders

Two from Blake Comeau, one each by Frans Nielsen, Sean Bergenheim, Trent Hunter and Jon Sim.

“I expect a text from John Tortorella when I get back to my office,” joked Scott Gordon to reporters after the game.

Chris Pronger: “We needed to match the Islanders’ desire, and we didn’t.”

Braydon Coburn: “The Islanders are a good team and they play hard. We knew that. They play an aggressive forecheck and teams that are out of the playoff race are always dangerous.”

Islanders scouts are rewarded for their team’s strong effort tonight by the hockey gods granting victories to Toronto and Florida and a point to Carolina.

Comments on tonight’s game.

In the thread before this one the comments section was closed but was the Petrov signing to 12 yrs supposed to be a joke because I didn’t get it???

  2. avatar Blizzard says:

….if I get one more April fools joke Im gonna bust. Go Islanders!!! Screw Philly. Dirtbags. If there is any Islander that wants to endear himself to the fanbase some one deck Pronger. Freakin dirtbag needs to be flattened.

  3. avatar Flal says:

    All the way CB!!

I would MUCH rather have top 3 pick. I know it is hard to cheer against our team, but I really rather have a shot at the top 3 rated guys then finish 7th from the bottom

Taveras has added excitement to the team, along with Bailey and KO. We need to get another piece to add to the nucleus. And build a long-term winner. I am still hoping Toronto gets real hot

Sorry to say it fellow Isles fan, but I hope Phily wins as, albeit I can’t help cheering anytime we do score.

Let Pitt & Chicago be the blueprint

  4. avatar billy says:

i don’t care if he gets a 2, 5, 10 and a game but pls pls pls let gillies or ANYBODY beat the spit out of Hartnell.

that and a win would be all i ask for in these final 6 games haha

  5. avatar teddyfusi says:

    #2 read better.

  6. avatar Staten Islander says:

ok, where is Blake Comeau and who is in his jersey?

  7. avatar Mike from Sarasota says:

So we lose both games to the Rags and are now i nthe process of doing them a huge favor by beating the Flyers. This really pisses me off. We can’t even lose right.

  8. avatar jeff says:

    Can’t they do anything right?

  9. avatar Pritchett54 says:

This is awful AND toronto and Florida are winning.

  10. avatar rex says:

how come they are wearing the white at home? I like it but y?

i thought home team had to wear the color now?

  11. avatar miket says:

3-0 is this an aprils fools joke?

  12. avatar therain93--terriers fan says:

Wow, pour it on guys! Maybe Blake can join the 20goal club this season.

  13. avatar Alex Kinkead says:

It’s only one period still plenty of time to lose.

  14. avatar Eric says:

#6 Blake Comeau is going to be a solid player for the Islanders for years to come. They said he had top 6 ability when he first entered the league. At worst he will be a very very solid 3rd liner. This guy is going to score a very big playoff goal for the Islanders in the next year or two. Mark my words.

  15. avatar Madchef says:

listen getting the monkey off the back of beating philly is a good thing. I dont want them to win anymore games this year but cant root for them to lose and listen we fold like clothes out of the wash in third periods so you never know.

  16. avatar Joe says:

    Here comes the crumble..

  17. avatar Joe says:

Can Gordon put Gillies out there already, Lappy is stirring it up.

  18. avatar Staten Islander says:

    Gilles beats Cote’s a$$, up 4-0, I LOVE it!

  19. avatar MSA says:

    Trevor!!!

  20. avatar Alex Kinkead says:

    Nice fight!

  21. avatar Joe says:

    Gillies cracked Cote twice.

  22. avatar Willy P says:

I see no need for the isles to tank the rest of the way. Wins are good for a team let them build off a strong finish. I have no problem picking 7th or so. Kyle Okposo was a 7th overall pick and he is a fan favorite. The guys picked 1,2,3 are no question very good hockey players, however you can still get a great player in the top ten. In fact you can get a very good player anywhere in the draft Ala Matt Moulson, Andrew Macdonald. Garth Snow knows what he is doing when it comes to the draft, i mean look at bailey i love the way he plays and he has been looking a lot better he brings excitement to the team, if he didnt get injured this year he could have had 18 goals. Which is what are leading goal scorer had last year, the islanders were able to trade down twice and still pick him up in the top 10, Not to mention i no we dont have much to offer but garth could always try to move up if he sees someone he wants. Also you cant rule out winning the lotto. They would pick 3rd i believe if they win the draft lotto, but other then that i say let the boys play and let us cheer for wins. Also on a side note im proud of the isle fan even when the isles are basically out of the playoffs there are still a lot of fans in the seats. Thats a good sign.

  23. avatar isles71 says:

my wife wanted to know who the ’70′s porn star was fighting the caveman in the flyers jersey???

  24. avatar VinnyMoose says:

CB, how about ‘the Warrior’ Frederick Meyer the 4th being a 5’11 192 lb. engine of destruction? Over 160 hits, pacing the Isles in that category. He’s going to get re-signed on the cheap, right? He’s earned it. Then we can trade Bruno and his chef’s hat for a bag of pucks and food server to be named later.

  25. avatar MJS says:

Wishing for your team to lose is darned un-American. The team is pretty much picking in the top 5 anyways. This is supposed to be a good draft class anyways, so let’s all get over it and enjoy the fact that the Isles are finally all over the effing Flyers and that Gillies beat up on Cote.

  26. avatar Boss15 says:

Willy, I like KO but come on, Johnson, Staal, Toews, Kessel all before KO. Of course there are still great players throughout draft but the further you pick back the more chance you get stuck with a bad one. That being said regardless of the outcome tonight they will likely have a top 5.

  27. avatar Bri on Li says:

It seems FMIV learned a bit of how to use the body from Sutton!

  28. avatar 19 Isle in NJ 22 says:

After rooting the Isles to 26th … 24th overall finishes in the recent past … I have learned that unless you’re in the top 3 or 4 draft pick wise … the rest of the 1st round is a crap shoot. No gaurantees a 1st or 4th overall pick will flourish … and sometimes you get a “fan” fave like Kyle Okposo at #7 … but … Kyle’s not going to bring home hardware unless he’s supported by players even better than him.

I’m not fooling myself anymore with a rightous call for “important character building wins” at the end of another losing season. That’s a load of you know what.

Isles’ best shot at good young talent is through the draft … not F/A.

Another thing … we can praise Moulson’s surpise emergence … and JT’s impressive rookie season as catalysts for an improvement over last season … but we all know the biggest reason for a better record is NHL caliber goaltending from Roloson … But the reality is … he turns 41 the first week of next season … and He’s not a part of the long term solution for the Isles.

Our prospect pool may be deeper … but not deep … and we have no “Game Breaker” prospects … JT is our only potential “Game Breaker / Game on His Stick” player… and I say that with all due respect to the Baileys, Okposos, Comeaus, de Hanns and Martins in the organization.

  29. avatar Pritchett54 says:

Anyone who doesn’t want the isles to lose is smoking opium. These wins are meaningless. I am glad comeau is playing well but all of his goals recently are garbage. Hall seguin or fowler are more important to the franchise than moral victories.

  30. avatar Staten Islander says:

You know what? After getting beat up by the Flyers all year and after being in games late and blowing leads to them, I’m enjoying this. Does it help us with draft lotto position? No, but I also think these guys need to experience some success against a team like Philly too. Lotto position or not, lackluster perfomence by them or not. OH CRAP! , Sim just scored!

  31. avatar dudley leiwicker says:

This was one game I wanted to lose for two reasons: higher draft pick, and now the Rangers will likely make the playoffs. If this team was going to play hard one night this week, why couldn’t it have been Tuesday? Tonight does them no good whatsoever.

  32. avatar Bill says:

FMIV is the man….i wish he was 6-2 and 220 lbs

  33. avatar AM says:

On another note, we don’t lose much in the draft picture as Florida beats Boston in Boston (wow) and Toronto takes out Buffalo. Carolina is also tied with the Sens right now. Crazy stuff.

  34. avatar Mike from Sarasota says:

Spot on Dudley… This win will mean exactly jack squat when we are watching the top prospects head elsewhere at the draft and also the Rangers in the playoffs.

  35. avatar Mike from Sarasota says:

Plus: Comeau continues strong second half play.
Plus: Back2back strong games from Bergenheim.
Minus: Bailey -2 on the night despite Isles outscoring Flyers 6-3 at even strength. Also another no-contact(0 hits) night for Josh.
Minus: Isles blow chance to move into ‘top 3′. And this one is directly related to the last one. When you draft outside of the top 5 you get ‘nice’ players like Bailey. Not impact players which this fracnhise desperately needs.
Minus: After giving them 4 points, Isles do Rangers another favor in playoff race.

  36. avatar pritchett54 says:

If we had lost tonight, we would have been in sole possession of the 3rd slot and 1 pt ahead of the leafs for the 2 slot. Right now we are 5th.
I guess when Toronto picks Hall or Seguin 2nd instead of us and the player goes on to be a Star, I will at least be able to hold on to the wonderful memory of the night that we beat the flyers 6-4. The night bergenheim scored his 8th goal and sim’s 12th. What a night!

  37. avatar DRIVE45 says:

    Another meaningless win!

  38. avatar Ethan K says:

No need for much negativity. We’re still tied for the number 3 pick at 74 points, and Toronto moved up to 71 points now. We have a tough schedule ahead and I think we’ll end up with the top 4 pick we want (Yes, top 4 now – Hall, Seguin, Fowler, Gudbranson).

  39. avatar Jeff says:

Disagree with those who say that winning these games will build character. Winning the games you need to win builds character. Winning meaningless games just makes a dismal season look better on paper.

  40. avatar C.J. says:

Great win, but it does nothing and means nothing.

Like your neat note CB about the “hockey gods”, but time is running out for this team to drop into the top 2 where they belong.

  41. avatar Joe says:

Nice win, I hate Philly. Ill be there Sat. I hope Gillies rocks Carkner on Saturday for breaking Jackmans face.

  42. avatar tonyd says:

Whoever thinks we are doing the nyr any favors hasn’t watched any rangers games this year. Those heartless pukes aren’t going to the playoffs no matter how games phi bos and mon lose.

  43. avatar Staten Islander says:

I’d be ok with the Rags making the playoffs just so I can watch them get pounded in the 1st round by the Caps

  44. avatar StevieL says:

Ho Hum! meaningless win in April! It would have been a great win in Feb.! The Flyers are a mess! I would rather be us!Love Blake lately!!
Really, really want to be a lottery team! Any pick lower than 5 will make this a really lost season!

  45. avatar 1972 means i'm old says:

You know you’re out of the race when you’re rooting for the Islanders to beat the Flyers just because the Philthies fans will be heading back to their skanky “city” with their depleted little heads down…

  46. avatar Islander Pride says:

#36 pritchett54 ..Toronto won’t be picking Hall or Seguin cause its Bostons pick

  47. avatar Spartiarti-RVC says:

blake comeau – 30 G+ next year? can it be possible.

  48. avatar JayK says:

Two very obvious thoughts: the number of fans rooting for a loss will have no impact on the final score; and these guys are all playing for their futures and have not packed it in. So get over it.

  49. avatar Bob Bassen says:

Hard to be *disappointed* with a win, I guess, but I am still seething from losing the Ranger game on Tuesday!
Definitely a *shoulder shrug* sort of win.
FMIV has been great during all of the defensive injuries and since the Sutton trade.
Gillies has great team spirit and it sure is nice having some *toughness* on an extremely soft team but why the stupid penalties when you’re finally getting a shot?

  50. avatar Rocky says:

Comeau may wind up with more goals than ko-it’s 17 to 16 currently.
And JT currently leads team in scoring-
not bad for a guy who’s clearly been out-muscled.

  51. avatar mht says:

What a boring crappy game. The exhibition games in Saskatoon and BC against the Oilers,Flames and Canucks were more interesting and pertinent.Lets have a Dive in the last Five! We need that top 3 draft pick this year. And God be willing hopefully we will be Bona fide Stanley Cup contenders and not have to root for the draft pick again.

  52. avatar Nobody says:

#45…no way, no how, not a chance… This is his career year!!!

  53. avatar YabbaDabbaDooDoo says:

Gordo sure gets this team ready for meaningless games, doesn’t he?

  54. avatar Michael says:

I hope the Rangers do make the playoffs. A four game sweep at the hands of the Caps and a mid round pick sounds great to me. I’ll keep cheering my Islanders on until their mathematically eliminated. All those who are hoping for losses are pathetic.

  55. avatar Chris Mc says:

Nobody its a lot of peoples career years. Its Moulsons career year. Its Baileys career year. Until they have a better year. If youre saying this is going to Blake Comeaus best year, well thats just an ignorant statement

  56. avatar Hud says:

Recorded the Flyers broadcast by accident, Howie and Jaffe do a great job, hopefully Jaffe is back next season, listening to Flyers broadcast very boring. Kind of funny, JT is not a smooth skater but, seems to be involved in many goals lately, eh?

  57. avatar Michael says:

Does anybody know why we wore the road white’s at home tonight?

  58. avatar Bill says:

Why doesn’t everyone lighten up on each other in here? Geez.

Good win tonight by the boys.

  59. avatar Pete says:

Went to the game tonight and just want to say Freddy Meyer is a beast. Garth better not let him get away.

  60. avatar THE PORK CHOP EXPRESS says:

Hey Boucher is this a poor April fools joke? This team is so consistent on being inconsistent lol. I guess that is what you expect from a young team. to be honest 2nd to last has been at our finger tips for the past two games. we need the best odds possible for hall or seguin. i dont want to see boston, florida picking in the 2 spot. they will definitely draft the forward. Only TB might be willing to trade back to draft a dman. Defense and goaltending is their main problem. As for the tonight’s game, I am glad that the isles skated and were competitive. That does help players confidence. Comeau & meyer should be part of this team next year. Comeau is there more consistent forward. meyer is their most physical dman. Someone needs to tell KO to keep it simple. He is still all over the place.

  61. avatar nobody says:

Comeau is not now, nor will he ever be a top 6 forward…lust my opinion.

  62. avatar mht says:

I know I am beating a dead horse ,but I have to vent. This past Saturday Night while Driving on Hempstead Turnpike From East Meadow To Farmingdale i tried my darn est to listen to the Islander/Blue Jacket game on WMJC 94,3 and the reception was horrible.Furthermore when I got the reception,Howie Rose and Billy Jaffe who work so well on TV because they let the picture do the description, are mediocre at best on the radio. My wish list for 2010-11,how about a high energy frenetic combo of Chris King doing play by play and Denis Potvin doing color commentary on a 50,000 watt NY radio station.

  63. avatar Steve M says:

    awesome fight by Gillies.

  64. avatar Jim Clark says:

6 goals? The Islanders usually don’t score 6 goals in a month. Let’s hope after whopping on the Flyers and sleepwalking through two losses against the Rangers, the Dolans and their media outlets give full support to Wang’s Lifesaver Project.

JT named Islander of the month with 11 points in 14 games. Take away that 5 point game and it’s 6 points in 13 games.

  65. avatar Lighthousemylasthope says:

I think tonight is what you call a Paradox

  66. avatar Walt says:

These meaningless games down the stretch
do nothing for the players. We need a top pick to add to the core period.

  67. avatar islesfan16 says:

these comments whining about the win are ridiculous. the “fans” bemoaning tonight’s win are the same ones who would blast gordon and the rest if they lost. man up and pick a side.

  68. avatar Matt S. says:

Gillies kicks ass. great fight. team plays a lot better with him in the line up. hope to see him next season.

  69. avatar Matt87 says:

Plus: Beating the Flyers, if you are not behind this then I don’t know what you really want.
Plus: Resign Freddy “Bullet” Meyer… AKA I call Meyer the Bullet, as said before HE is a BEAST!

  70. avatar Jzimm says:

Hoping that we can lose what’s left in regulation, and Toronto wins 3 of their last 4. This was a bad win tonight.

The biggest kick in the gut would be finishing the season scheduled to pick 3rd, and a team behind us wins the lottery.

The greatest reward would be us winning the lottery. Unlike last year, I won’t lose sleep over who we’d pick 1st. I could live with Hall or Seguin. Let’s hope for the best case scenario of Toronto finishing with a bang, and us a wimper.

  71. Good job Trevor Gilles. What could Cote have possibly be saying after that fight? I wish someone rocked Laperriere too though.
Glad we got the win, along with the other NHl teams that we needed to get points.

Comeau is playing well, but super lucky.
I actually think we can give the credit for his luck tonight to his nutritionist again…Freddy Meyer!
He played awesome. Where was this all year? Only in the last 2 months has he done this, yet…he has done this sporadic good play in the few years past.

I still like having him on this team can’t believe he plays that way at that size. Go Freddy.

Bailey worries me. KO has yet to find real chemistry with another player. I wonder if Rahkashani will actually make a difference. I hope so.

  72. avatar joe from bayside says:

just like the hockey gods gave the points tonite to toronto, florida, and carolina i hope they somehow reward the isles with the #1 pick in the lottery for NOT tanking like the rest of the teams around them and actually playing with some heart. all i wanted for christmas was taylor hall….its still possible =/

  73. avatar isles14 says:

nice effort tonite.love to watch philly lose.i wish freddy meyer was just a little bigger.

  74. avatar MickeyBoy7 says:

I was present last night amongst many empty seats. The win was nice and unexpected. What struck me most was the lack of aggression by the former Broad Street Bullies. They didn’t seem very hungry. And their goaltending is a joke. I don’t remember the last time we scored so many goals that could be blamed on the opposition goalie. One point i must make as a paying customer: why can’t we be informed of the problem of why a goal is being questioned? The very first goal we scored took about 10 minutes to decide if it counted. The replay we were shown was so far away that you couldn’t see anything. In fact I STILL don’t know what the issue was. The ref finally says the goal counts and that’s that. Oh well. Just thought the fans might get a little info there.

  75. avatar Healy says:

Plus: Beating the Flyers after having to suffer through numerous occasions of their obnoxious fans lining the upper three hundreds and out cheering us. Those 4 goal leads sure to shut them up!!

Plus: Freddy Meyer literally dragging Briere out of Biron’s crease by his leg after Danny had crashed on top of Marty. The couple shots he gave him after for it too were appreciated. Love seeing that stuff.

Minus: After beating an opponent who had beaten us 15 times in a row (the *current* NHL streak) the kids finally get the schni off their back and there still is a negativity storm brewing here. Its everyone’s right to be, but just enjoy one once in a while :)

  76. avatar Hey Nooowww!!!! says:

I’m so happy for Blake. The guy can skate like the wind, is a fantastic puck handler and has a really nice wrister. I thought he was gonna be at great 3rd liner but I would go as far as saying he has all the tools of a top 6 forward. When he gets the puck and gallops into over year blue line, weaving in and out, it is a thing of beauty. JT looked good but KO wasn’t as great as he usually is.

  77. avatar msolo says:

    well said # 67

  78. avatar dose says:

i still think it’s always better to win than to lose, regardless of the standings. in this case beating philly at least means we don’t have to hear that horrid stat next season. but way more important to me last night was gillies beating up (maybe a slight stretch but what the hell)another team’s tough guy. unless they get someone else as tough or tougher than gillies to compliment matt martin’s edge next year, gillies better be back here.

  79. avatar John says:

I pray that Erik Karlsson’s goal with 8 seconds left against Carolina last night doesn’t cost us a top 5 pick. As I look towards the upcoming draft, I see 5 potential studs (Hall and Seguin up front and Gudbrandson, Gormley and Fowler back on the blue line). As long as we finish in the top 5, I am cool with it. But as far as last night is concerned, love the way that Comeau is playing, and if Philly is looking to dump some salary in the offseason, I would love to get my hands on Coburn or Hartnell (options that could be had for decent, not outrageous return)

  80. avatar Chris TMC says:

This was an important game to win, draft be damned. I am grateful this ridiculous losing streak is finally over. Thankfully, the Isles will no longer have this hanging over their heads- and they can start off fresh next season. Now if the Flyers miss the plyoffs by a point or two, that would be great.

  81. avatar Irish Isle says:

Leave it to the Isles to make me aggrevated by beating Philly

Hay Eric(#14) first the Isles need to make the palyoffs.

Sean Bergenheim, Trent Hunter and Jon Sim are reallly starting to annoy me. The only Isles I want scoring goals are JB, JT, KO, Frans and Comeau. We are playing for lotto positioning right now fellas. We need the better pick to get a better play to help us into the playoffs.

  82. avatar 404isle says:

Can someone please tell me what the knock on Simm is? I love that dude. He’s got some speed; tremendous heart and he backs down from NO ONE. I’d like to see him here for 3 more years!

  83. avatar JP91 says:

PLEASE stop the complaining about our Isles WINNING! I mean come on now, I know a top draft pick is great, but a win is not something to COMPLAIN about. Really people, come on. If we end up with a top-3 pick, then I’d be very happy. But at the same time, I’m not gonna be annoyed by the boys playing spoiler and beating Philly at home last night…

  84. avatar Jeff says:

Nice win last night! I brought the family last night and it was really exciting! The Isles are 8-1 in games that we went to this year. We’re going to sit home for the rest of the season and hope for a top 3 pick!

  85. avatar pritchett54 says:

I dont understand the people who want us to win. Why? What is the point? I would think that if you are a fan of the team you would want us to lose? No? There is no benefit to wins but there is a benefit to losing. And everyone is aware that rooting for them to lose doesnt help but neither does rooting for them to win. We are just fans, unless we are in the arena screaming, we dont affect anything. Sitting in our underwear on our couches watching them play and screaming at the TV doesnt help. We need a stud prospect and the more we lose the more likely it will be that we get one.

  86. avatar Hishutzi Skorz says:

Is it my imagination or does Boucher have more holes than Augusta National?

Really, many on this board were ticked at Snow for not making a move at the deadline. Imagine being a Flyer fan, where you think you have a shot at a deep playoff run and your GM does nothing to address such a glaring weakness!

And for all of you Gordon bashers..his team, although lacking talent and depth SHOWS UP! Can Torts, Lavy and afew others make the same claim?

  87. avatar goislesgo105 says:

NEWS FLASH: Flyers trade for goalie Dwayne Roloson and are declared favorites to win the cup!………APRIL FOOLS!

  88. avatar mht says:

To whose who post on this blog that we are “Losers” for wishing the Islanders to lose and achieve a better draft pick GET REAL.These games are nothing but meaningless exhibitions and their sole purpose is to provide a platform for Jon Sim,Richard Park,Marty Biron and Tim Jackman{All UFA’s]that they merit a contract for the 2010-11 season.Gee in 1984 the NJ Devils and the Pittsburgh Penguins were tied for the worst record in the NHL entered the final game of the season to be played in the Igloo in Pittsburgh.Pittsburgh deliberately tanked the game and won the overall draft pick{Pre draft Lottery}Pittsburgh with the first pick, picked Mario Lemieux,NJ with 2nd pick, picked Kirk Muller.Did anyone in Pittsburgh cry over that loss to the Devils?Listen I believe all of us on this blog want to see the Islanders return to Greatness. It has to be done through the draft. In Oct 2010 once the new season starts there is absolutely no carryover what so ever.Gee does anyone remember that we won Ted Nolan’s last regular season game at MSG in April 2008?

  89. avatar mht says:

So having stated my previous posting lets have a Dive in the Last Five and a happy, healthy holiday to all.

  90. avatar Isles22Isles says:

If you complain about an Islanders win, you’re either not really an Islanders fan, or too irrational to reason with.

You cant turn on and off “fanatic”-

I in theory would want a Top3 Pick also-

I love Tavares + his long-term potential here (makes our future look bright).

But I repeat its sacrilege to root against your team, especially while they are getting a 15game monkey off their back vs an opponnent we loathe.

You wanna root for top-3 pick, then sacrifice a chicken on tuesday 4/13, and pray to the hockey gods that a ping pong ball bounces our way-

There will be less blood on your hands the latter way………..

    Go Isles!!

    Beat Ottawa!!

Learn to Win for Next Year……..

GO Ping Pong Balls for #1 Pick!!!!

  91. avatar 4theisles says:

Bet philly wishes it took Biron or Roloson at the deadline. Guess they wouldn’t pay the price then, now they are!

  92. avatar Mad Pete says:

NOW they want to start winning?, seriously?

  93. avatar pocketski says:

Boucher is a has been. Flyers are toast

  94. avatar Marc from Troy says:

You can’t turn on and off “fanatic.”

    Well said, Isles22Isles (90).

  95. avatar Eric says:

    @90 and 94:

You “can’t turn off fanatic?” Really? I would think a “fanatic” fan would be logical enough to appreciate the importance of a top pick in the rebuild. I’m sorry, but I simply cannot understand the “ra-ra” fans who ignore all logic and root for their team to win completely meaningless games. Sorry.

  96. avatar Steve says:

Well, if the Isles win tomorrow against the playoff bound Ottawa Senators, they will be 6 points back with 4 games left. Just win the rest of the way and hopefully they get lucky. I think being in the playoff contention even mathmatically with 5 games to go is a major step in the right direction.

  97. avatar Steve says:

For tomorrow, I hope either Jackman or gillies DESTROYS Carkner tomorrow along with a win.

Does anyone here realize that if we finish dead last, like most of you seem to want, it does not mean we will automatically get the 1st pick. We will get a very good player in the draft. I feel we will pick 3rd. Even then, most of you will be arguing, About Fowler, Gudbranson, or Nieterieter. Can’t please all of you, so why not win—it always makes me feel giddy after a Isles win!

I’m OK with Comeau on our 3rd line in the near future. He wil be a really, really good play-off player…

How stupid do the Flyers look right now by not trading a late round pick for Biron? Three goals were softies! The goal by Nielson was pitcture perfect! Fowler and Donovan played very well on the same bluline at the world juniors, could be interesting if the Isles select Fowler
