CIZIKAS, de HAAN ON TEAM CANADA CAMP LIST
de Haan will attend, but not participate on ice
1:30 pm - Islanders prospects Calvin de Haan and Casey Cizikas are two of 41 players invited to Team Canada’s development camp in preparation for the 2011 WJC. Good news for Cizikas, the NYI’s high-value fourth round pick of a year ago. According to Team Canada, de Haan (shoulder injury) will attend the camp in early August in Newfoundland, but will be unable to participate in on-ice activities.

good for Cizikas…No rush for DeHaan. He is young and will be fine as long as he’s not rushed
-
Yeah keep CDH away from the Freddy Meyer diet plan. Let this kid gain weight then bulk up, can’t wait until he’s playing for the Isles.
-
Too bad that this year has been a lost one for DeHaan. Hopefully he can rebound this season. Great news on Cizikas though.

CB:
Where does Cizikas fit? Is he nothing more than a 3rd line winger – We have plenty of those.
-
This is should be a great oppurtunity for both.
I really feel that Cizikas will have the chance to become a great success story. -
de Haan is a lock for the team since he was on it last year. Unless the Isles decide to rush him of course
-
I’m confident that Cizikas will make the WJC team and be a stud penalty killer, energy line guy, much like Stefan Della Rovere was the past two tourneys.

Good news, but it looks like de Haan’s shoulder is in bad shape.
-
For everything given up to get DeHann they better keep him locked up tight in a safe until he’s healed and puts on at least 20 pounds.
-
How is Calvin progressing with his rehab CB? Any news on that front? Or just the typical stock answer given when any player is recovering from an injury?
Good to see Casey making some noise. If he fulfills his potential he’ll be given the nickname “Mighty Casey” Good to see another mid to late rounder make some noise.

Shoulder problems at an early age is not a good sign. Having shoulder problems all my life its not fun. Hopefully it gets better but shoulder injuries take a long time before they get better, I’m talking at least a year before feeling somewhat normal.

Very positive for the continued development of these prospects. I wish De Haan’s shoulder was healed enough to be ready to go. Hopefully, he is finding a way to add weight this summer because if De Haan adds muscle and strength that is all the kid needs.
