POINT BLANK VIDEO: 4 MINUTES OF GROUP 1
Videography, editing and music by David Litvinsky

PB Video: Nino Niederreiter
PB Video: Travis Hamonic

At these camps, a FAQ is, “How did the players look”? Regular readers of this site probably know my answer by now. There is no answer. They’re kids. They all look fine. There isn’t anything that happens in two days of drills at a prospect camp that will define them as hits or busts. I’ll be at the scrimmage Saturday, in the stands with my sons, along with an expected 1,500 other people. If Nino scores a goal by out-muscling some hard-working kid from Long Island – who, for all I know, is the son of a guy I went to Hicksville High School with – enjoy the moment. But it’s important to keep these events in perspective. Instead, I hope you’ll enjoy this PB vid – shot, edited and scored by David Litvinsky. More later. Comments related to this video only. Thanks.

Nice video. My first impression from the footage: Koskinen is REAL BIG.

  2. avatar JD says:

Good stuff. Looking forward to seeing our future Islanders tomorrow.

  3. avatar Ricardolikland says:

Prospects are what islanders are good at. Seriously if they became a ahl or junior team but kept the logo and uniform I think it would be better then another ten years of negative news of a team that can’t compete with NHL teams.

Who is David Litvinsky? That’s a great song.

Glad to see Poulin on the ice. I guess his injury was not so bad. Hamonic looked real good on one defensive drill. I was hoping to see Kabonov stickhandling with his dog.

  6. avatar Blizzard says:

cool vid, thanks CB. Im loving Nino, looks like a big strong kid for 17 FWIW.

  7. avatar Mark says:

don’t want to get ahead of myself when I say this but I have been at the Coliseum over the past few days and Anders Nilsson looks good, really good.

I laughed. I cried. It became a part of me.

  12. avatar Isle Be Damned says:

Cool video. I really liked the music too.

  13. avatar Gus says:

Hats off to Botta for the coverage of the prospect camp. With all this Lebron garbage that’s been going on, and all of Isles country freakin’ out about Janks no longer being with the Isles, it’s nice to have something to look forward with the updates.

Enjoy the game to all of you going tomorrow, hopefully these kids put on a show.

  14. avatar Billy-no-not-Jaffe says:

Most of the kids look HUGE.

  15. avatar goislesgo105 says:

Nice video CB. It’s fun to watch the future of the Isles. Being that this team will not be signing any big name free agents, as fans the kids are all we really have to look forward to. Keep dreamin’ Isles fans because that’s what being a fan is all about! YES WE CAN! GO ISLES!

  16. avatar Never witnessed a Cup says:

Cant believe Nino is this big and has more growing to do…Looking forward to this kid and watching JT a the end gave me chills, imagined the future but then I quickly came to earth and imagined him leaving in 2 more yrs

  17. avatar Merrick says:

Nice video; it looks just like the Coliseum for a mid-October weekday game and should prepare the kids :)

  18. avatar Lenny says:

  22. avatar 19 Isle in NJ 22 says:

Two Thumbs Up for that video…

I guess we eat up these prospect videos because for us Islander fans … The future is what excites us.

Matt Martin probably at his last prospect camp. I see him making the team out of camp.

It’s going to be fun tomorrow to see these guys play. As you said CB … It really doesn’t tell us much when we see them against one another … the real test comes in September.

  23. avatar Hextall72 says:

    Nice work CB.. Thankyou
