these kids look fast and incredible stick handlers. Kabanov is a dangler.

With all these players in the works I dont see any additions made but will Hamonic, Petrov, Martin, and Joensuu make the opening night line-up? I dont think the team is any better without the addition of at least 2 of those 4 players. Neiderreiter and Kabanov look to be soild additions but they have to go back to juniors. Mand I really finally feel as though we may actually matter in the next couple seasons.

My projection is as follows:
Hamonic will start with Bridgeport for seasoning and be on L.I. by New Year’s.
If there are early injuries to the D, I’d expect to see Kohn and Reese called up first.Unless Nino absolutely blows the roof off in training camp, he and Kabanov should spend another year in Jrs.
Petrov is the mystery. Being a few years older, he could make the Isles, but if he does come over, I’d expect for him to get some pro experience in CT as well.
Martin should be a lock, as he possesses much needed size, plays with an edge, and will drop the gloves when needed.
Joensuu’s fate may depend on what Snow does to get to the floor. Should he sign a guy like Ash or Raffi, it may be at Jesse’s expense.
Finally, Koskinen. A year in Bridge as the main guy, on the Isle in 2011-12. BTW, seeing him on Saturday, his net presence reminded me of (dare I say it?) Ken Dryden.

Damn they look fast…hopefully Snow signs a couple more free agents before October so we can develop these guys in the minors. 2011 is looking very bright…hopefully a new arena (or at least a deal for one), playoff run, and respect from other teams…

My greatest fear is that the LHP thing never gets settled and in 2-3 years KO and JT will sign somewhere else and it will be more of the same with these young prospects. I try not to get too excited until there is some stability. Until then we are setting ourselves up for heartbreak…

Kids look great… however the way this team sets up, unless they make a major move or two, we will be a bottom 10 team again.

All right – real comment time. These kids have a lot of talent and personality to boot (especially Kabanov). Attitude is something we’ve been lacking. And while they all could use polishing in the minors, do we really have time for that? Trial by fire has worked out for this team in the past, although it carries great risk. Still, I would not be against seeing a couple of these guys opening night.

Kabanov looks like he has quite a set of hands!
