It’ll be interesting to see what he does given a full year with the team.

  2. avatar PotvinRocks says:

I won’t be surprised if Schremp scores 20 this year. He’s talented and in this atmosphere of the locker room and the playing time and PP time that he’ll get it’s not a stretch. He produced in the limited amount of playing time that he got last season.

  3. avatar Brian G says:

besides Schremp, everyone on this team has to prove they can be consistent with putting up points

  4. avatar the bomber says:

i am still a bit of a doubter with schremp. i wish him all the best, but i fear he is an AHL caliber player who is playing in the nhl because of the silly shootout rules.

that being said, he seems a like a great guy and teammate and i hope he soooo proves me wrong…

  5. avatar Les Beaver says:

Looks like he got bigger in the offseason as well.

  6. avatar IslesFanInTN says:

Hey CB, is that banging noise in the background about :50 sec into the video someone working on DP’s knee? OK, seriously, I hope Schremp has a great year along with the rest of the Isles.

  7. avatar hockeytime says:

Breakout year for Rob Schremp. If he gets second line ice time, I’d bet he would put up 50 or so points. Start the season already!!!

  8. avatar mark p says:

If can get those 50 points our center position will be NHL calibre. Alot more ifs though before we are a playoff team.

  9. avatar Spartiarti RVC says:

breakout season for schremp, JB, KO, Comeau can mean playoffs for isles.

    that would be nice.

  10. avatar Big Van Vader says:

This Isles team, as far as the youth, is headed in the right direction. HOW long has it been since we could say that? They also got the necessary tough guys needed to protect Tavares, Okposo, Bailey etc..
While a top winger is STILL what we need, (haven’t we been saying that for a decade?) these kids should AT LEAST challenge for a playoff birth this year.

  11. avatar John89 says:

I think the thing I love about this team more than anything is that it seems like all of these young guys are really, truly excited to be Islanders. It seems that they all enjoy playing with each other and care about each other and each guy wants all of his teammates to succeed. All of the players are pumped for this season, why shouldn’t the fans be? The team may not be great yet, but its on its way and its made up of great, hard working, character guys. IMO this is a team that we should really be getting behind and supporting.

  12. avatar Frankie D says:

John89, I couldn’t agree more. This team started to become exciting last year and if it wasn’t for some bad luck, they could have made the playoffs. I am even more excited about their chances this year. I can’t wait for Oct 9th, got my tickets.

  13. avatar Ezdoesit says:

I don’t see this guy becoming anything important. I See Blake come possibly scoring 60 to 70 points if he was given power play time and top minutes on top 2 lines. Not schremp though.

  14. avatar 5fourFightin says:

I’m real excited to watch Robby play this year. I feel he will surprise quite a few people in the NHL. At least 50 points for Schremp this season baring injury. Now with 2 lines that will score it will be tougher for teams to formulate a game plan against us. JT and KO should benefit greatly.

  15. avatar Cmoney90 says:

I think Robbie will have a good season and u can’t help but like the guy he’s been a class act since he came here which I’m sure not many expected with the reputation he had in juniors and in Edmonton. The guy was exciting to watch last season he has great vision and is a slick passer. Remember he was on a line with sim most of the time and put up good points. I think if you put him with Kyle and Bailey on the wings it would be an exciting line to watch.

  16. avatar Ethan K says:

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a HUGE breakout year for Rob Schremp. In terms of raw talent, he’s probably a close second only to Tavares on the team. This guy was incredible on the Junior level, and would’ve been a top-5 pick had it not been for some bad media and some mistakes that he made in some interviews. But it seems like he’s really cleared all that up. At the end of last season, he was putting up points regularly, and it was because he learned not to curl away towards the boards with the puck, and instead used his stick handling to open up room on the ice for himself and his teammates.

If this guy really gets his game going, look out.

  17. avatar Doug says:

I agree with John89 and Frankie D… seems like we have alot of character guys on this team. Yeah, they are not proven NHL’ers yet, but keep in mind how young they are. Schremp hardly had a “rookie” season since it was cut short. I’m sorry, but from what I saw and how he produced while he was in the lineup.. i feel with NHL experience he will be a great player. Not a superstar, but a great piece to the puzzle. I like the group we have right now, and I’m behind them 100%.

  18. avatar Pritchett54 says:

anyone know where they sell the sweatshirt he is wearing in the video? It isnt on NHL.com in the shop. Any suggestions would be great. Seriously.

  19. avatar Rob A says:

His attitude alone makes me happy the Islanders picked him up. The guy has looked thrilled to be here since he was picked up, and at many times, that mindset seems to have been contagious. As has been stated before me, Schremp has the raw ability…I’m just hoping he can put it all together and become an impact player in the NHL.

  20. avatar bayduvinislander says:

Rob Schremp became my favorite Islander the night he batted that puck out of mid-air. Not because of the goal, it’s because his head was bobbing with such obvious giddy excitement as he skated by the Islander bench high-fiving his teammates. I just felt so happy for the guy I’ve never stoped rooting for him. You’re living my dream Schremp, make the most of it.

  21. avatar Hollywood says:

Schremp could be the X factor. He is the best puck handler and playmaker that we have. I can see 17 goals and 40 assists.
