THE MOMENT MANY OF YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR…
Micheal Haley Recalled from Bridgeport (UPDATE)

by Kevin Schultz on November 22nd, 2011 at 5:33 pm

Updated, 11:00pm: Darren Dreger reported on TSN tonight that the Islanders are shopping Blake Comeau for draft picks.

With Mark Eaton placed on IR, the Islanders have recalled Micheal Haley from Bridgeport. Eaton has a sprained MCL and will be out six weeks. With this move, the Islanders are now carrying six defensemen and two goaltenders, not including Montoya and Eaton who are on IR. That leaves three possible forward spots to be healthy scratches tomorrow night against Philadelphia. Haley is not the answer, but he is an answer.

    Its a start…….

Sports illustrated’s new power ranking puts the isles 30th with this write up:
“Really, they disgraced the game their last two outings. In getting outscored 11-0 by the B’s and Pens, the Isles looked like quitters before the first periods of those debacles were even over. John Tavares is in a huge slump, with zero goals in his last seven games. Remember, this was the guy some dared to compare to Sidney Crosby coming out of the 2009 draft. But watching Sid blow by slow-footed Tavares all night Monday, it only proves how wrong those comparisons were.”

      • avatar the sick one six says:

And what does that writer think would happen if Crosby and Tavares switched teams? Tavares would out point Crosby every year! I’m not saying Tavares is as good as Crosby but make a fair comparison. After watching the last two games my college team would give the isles a run for there money…no joke!

      • avatar bababaoey to ya'll says:

Look at what JT has to work with. If u watched the games hes playing like a man on a mission. But when teams are only worried about him and nobody else that will make it nearly impossible for him to work his magic…

    • avatar The Pro says:

ISLES PROBLEMS CAME FROM TWO LETTERS: G AND M… The Isles have one problem: Their GM…

Snow had his chance…but never did the job as he has to do.
Every year, the players start the season with energy for a couple of weeks and, suddenly, they are the worst players on the ice…
It really means that their physical training focus on: “to start strong” but not “to stay strong” or “to be stronger every month”…An NHL season is 8 months, not 3 weeks…
This year, it was suppose to be different as they hired a new physical trainer…but it was the same…
Again, wrong decision by Snow to hire the wrong staff…
Same thing for the goalies situation…how many goaltenders have a knee or hip issue ? Nilsson is the only goaltender known that does not have that kind of issue…So what the GM did to resolve this situation and learn from the last year goalies situation ? Nabokov was not the solution and he was aware of it when he decided to not play for the Isles last year…
What was the kind of transaction of Snow this summer ? He brings a couple of players and signed them at the end of their career…Pandolfo was the only good signing and he did not came from a trade prepared by Snow…
Snow was supposed to bring a very good defenseman by the summer and after he was not able to sign Erhoff, what did Garth Snow to bring a number one defensemen ? Staios to play on the first defensive line !
There is no GM in the NHL except Snow that would sign Staios to play on a first defensive line…Sincerely, no one !!!

Last year, when he decided to fire Gordon, even Capuano was loosing night after night until february…
So can someone explain why he signed him as a head coach for this season ? What did Capuano won as a coach ? Nothing… What new leadership he bring in the lockerroom ??? If you don’t have leadership as GM, you will not bring leadership on your staff, and on the ice…

One of Snow strategy was to keep the young talents in Long Island…but what is doing with this talent ? He is wasting all young talent in his team…To loose every night and to be on the bench because the coach want to make an exemple is wasting young talent…With no support, you have no confidence…And where is the support of Garth Snow while this young players need help to developpe their talent with confidence ? Nowhere !!! Or maybe in is office, playing cards on is new Windows 7…

This organisation has no respect for their fans…and for the fans, enough is enough…

    • avatar Jerome says:

      All,
Just did some forensics on Isles’ “talent” level on TSN’s top 200 players rankings. Only Anaheim (2) had less players than than the Isles (3). Mind you, I only searched on the bottom 5 teams in the NHL for this “study.” I assumed that teams 1-25 would have more than three representatives.

  2. avatar Grandma's Boy says:

I know he won’t be the savior, but it’s a step in the right direction.

  3. avatar Nics21 says:

    Can he play defense???

  4. avatar Hollywood says:

It’s a start, but not enough. Welcome back Haley! Hopefully Wishart is next because Moteau isn’t the answer.

  5. Haley is a start, but much more is needed to become respectable

    • avatar John says:

@strummer: I wouldn’t trade Parenteau, his 9 assists, and grit are what they need more of. Bailey and Comeau both need to get in the dirty spaces, or get waived. How about a massive trade to Columbus for Nash? I would send them Eaton, Mottau, Jurcina, Comeau, Roloston, Reasoner, Pandalfo and Nabby for Nash. Maybe I’m carzy, but we have enough prospects that we could bring up.

      • avatar isles316 says:

You can’t give a team all your crap and expect to get a star player. If we want Nash, Columbus would start with Nino and/or Strome, and a 1st round pick and maybe even Okposo.

        • avatar the sick one six says:

I would take it! Nino and Strome ba bye… Nash is a proven player and would be able to help us immediately. With this team Nino and Strome will be nothing more than average players. I’m not saying their not good just saying they are not in the Crosby, Stamkos, Tavares class. Teams make all the world of difference on a players development. could you even begin to imagine Tavares on a good team? just think what he could do if he wasn’t focused on because there was maybe one other scoring threat on the team? Also Columbus would laugh at that.

      • avatar WangFireSelfPlease says:

Yea let’s trade eight nickels and hope to get a dollar in return. I am so tired of wasting my time reading idiotic ‘trades’.

  6. avatar Strummer's Army says:

I have called for Haley to be on the team since this summer. He earned it last year. Isles used him all summer for promotional stuff and then the NHL pushed back on Wang & MSG reshowing the Isles/Pens games and then Isles decided to avoid toughness and they’ve suffered.

Haley and Ullstrom are 2 guys I wanted up but Isles need Gillies, Wishart and maybe Czikas.

Don’t do it step-by-step do it fast. Waive/trade Eaton, Mottau, Jurcina, Comeau, Parenteau, Roloston, Reasoner, & Pandalfo. Trade Nabby when you can.

Nice article on Pedan, he and Mayfield are two fo the guys we need big time but will have to wait for.

    • avatar mikeg says:

I agree with you except parenteau. He’s a pretty good player and right now carries the puck across the blueline better than any other islander forward. I know that’s not saying much but he has held up his end of the bargain so far. Hey if you can get good value for him then I’m on board.

      • avatar upstateIsles says:

absolutely..PA isn’t on the trading block…you don’t know anything about hockey if you think he is…he is the most poised player we have with the puck and he distributes and contributes well…keep’her

  7. avatar The Danish Backhand of Judgment says:

I like Haley. He is necessary.

  8. avatar Bean322 says:

Jeez-it took that long to realize that the current team sucked…and if we are gonna lose we may at least lose with pride..haley’s Comet!
If it was up to me i’d rip the C off Striet and put in on Haley.

    • avatar mikeg says:

Let’s face it John Tavares should be the captain! All Striet ever was was a spacer between now and when he becomes a free agent in which at that time he signs elsewhere and Tavares becomes captain.

  9. avatar Anthony says:

Haley called up,its about time. Now play Haley and Nino and bench any of the two from Pandolfo,Rolston and Reasoner. Keep Ulstrom up and continue to bench Comeau. I hope the next move is a trade for a physical Dman.

  10. avatar ppugs says:

I would rather have 20 haleys on this team and lose 6-0…at least you know the guy is playing with his heart on his shoulder and will play every shift like its his last

  11. avatar Danfromouteast says:

Martin and Haley now islanders have 2 people to check a whole other team. Glad to see someone with some heart other than Martin will be playing.

  12. avatar nyc dork says:

To bad for me, I wasn’t waiting for this. I’m still waiting for snow and wang to get serious about winning. 4th line minutes doesn’t resolve 5 years of torture.
Even if Isles will win their next 2 games .. nevermind

  13. avatar jeff says:

Haley is a start as he will provide energy and go all out every shift. He’s a spark plug the team needs. It’s amazing how a big check can get the team and crowd pumping. He can not be any worse than Reasoner or Rolston.

  14. avatar hangover3 says:

I think people like Okiposo with the “turn the other cheeck when soemone hits you” attitude has rubbed off on all the Isles fowards. Take Moulson, Bailey, Tavares, Neilsen, all these guys would are afraid to throw checks cause nowadays in the NHl if you hit someone and they fall, the teamate jumps you and starts punching you. Guys dont want a broken jaw or broken ortible bone or to lose teeth. You cant have this many guys on one team unless they are 35 goal scorers. Only Tavares would play on this team if I was in charge.

  15. avatar SBIsles says:

    Hooray.

  16. avatar Danfromouteast says:

Haley nino and ullstrom so scratch comeau okposo and bailey. Then cizikas Gillies and benedetto get rid of rolston reasoner and pandolfo. pleeeeease bring up Donovan and Dehaan and scratch mottoau and staios

  17. avatar Jersey Steve says:

Haley and Ullstrom is a start. Get rid of the over-the-hill vets! Get Konopka back to center the 4th line.

  18. avatar Jersey Steve says:

I’d would rather have had Sutton, Hillen, and Martinek (or McCabe) over Mottau, Eaton, and Staios.

  19. avatar Jersey Steve says:

Bring up Wishart….he is better than the other scrubs.

  20. avatar SBIsles says:

I recently noticed that Bryan McCabe isn’t three of our defenseman. Therefore we should sign him.

  21. avatar Jim Clark says:

Another turkey just in time for Thanksgiving.

    • avatar NoManIsAnIslander says:

      You got that right, Jim.

I like the kid’s heart but, this “move” is all about the optics…

Just more rearranging of the deck chairs on the Titanic.

  22. avatar U.P. says:

And just like that, I’m now inclined to watch the game tomorrow because if someone decides to run into our goalie, they’ll catch a good beating. I’m all fired up just hearing this news!!! It’s about time. Maybe a few of these other worthless clowns will go down with some injuries so we can see more call-ups.

  23. avatar Jeff says:

Haley will provide a spark the team has sorely missed. He’ll energize his teammates as well as the crowd. All good teams have an energy/character players. This is what we lack as well. Reasoner and Rolston are here for a paycheck and not part of the Islanders family. Welcome back cousin Mikey.

  24. avatar Dan C. says:

Why does this team make moves at such a glacial pace? Anyone who follows this team closely would have recalled Haley a month ago. Next up, a coaching change will be made a month after it could have made a difference. This team really is a basketcase.

  25. avatar StevieL says:

Now we are getting somewhere!! Put him on Tavares wing with moulson!!!

  26. avatar Fred says:

Haley is great but I think he’s like 5’10″, we need the Gillies as well.

Scratch Pandolfo and Reasoner, there’s no reason to sit Nino or Comeau.

The defense is slow and old and gives me bad dreams. Wishart is an improvement because he can skate the length of the ice without being winded.

    • avatar mikeg says:

I don’t know if they believe Gillies can play any minutes. I guess he can’t be any worse than comeau PandAWful and No reason for reasoner!

  27. avatar Bean322 says:

Its so sad that he was not on the roster from day one and even more sad that it took so long to call him up.
They better slow down-dont want to give us fans too many moves at once to improve the team. Snow and Wang beleive this move will keep us fans holding on about another month or so.

  28. avatar MarioGazz says:

Guys its very simple. This team waits until its too late. They are never proactive. They will lose the next 3 games, be 15 points out then make changes. What is Haley going to do to make this club better? Hes not gonna force the NHL to change tomorrows game to Versus. Hes gonna give you 5 minutes of toughness. That is not going to change the outcome. Its not like the Isles got the crap kicked out of them last night!! They were exposed the last 2 games for NOT HAVING THE TALENT other teams do. We have 3-5 guys that can compete at this level, that’s it. Good luck tomorrow Haley. I will miss you in Bridgeport.

  29. avatar mike f says:

Penguins fans: excited to get Crosby back.

Islanders fans: excited to get Haley back.

Sounds about right. Any chance we can play us so Haley can go for 2 and 2 also?

  30. avatar nyc dork says:

I hope Snow doesn’t think we suddenly have an identity.
Snow should have picked up Avery.
I hate Avery with a passion but i can easily change my mind if brought his scoring and spark to the isles. Plus Avery is capable of playing top minutes.
Snow should be looking for playoff pieces right now and not trying to fix his mistakes. You have a lot of work in front of you Snowman.

    • avatar IslesFan says:

Please. Avery is trash. There is a reason why the Rangers and every other team does not want him. If the Islanders want to go in that direction, they will do so without me.

  31. avatar The New Isles GM says:

Very small part of the solution. Many things still have to take place to right the ship. Welcome back Haley

  32. avatar Staten Islander says:

Good start, but he should have been up from the start. I blame that on them having to carry 3 goalies. Now can we bring up Wishart? I know he’s not Denis Potvin or Ken Morrow, but he’s better than Mottau.

  33. avatar Daryl says:

Hopefully a slow boat with Rolston, Mottau, Staios, Reasoner, and Pandolfo will depart soon. Course since Haley isn’t a defenceman, Mottau will be back in tomorrow …

  34. avatar Joey says:

It is a start but Cappy needs to find the right chemistry for lines, HE NEEDS TO PUT JT with MARTIN! Keep ok, Grabs and Nielson, let’s start scoring some !@#@!$%#$@! goals now!

  35. avatar cheepnis says:

Bench the Reasoner-Rolston-Pandolfo line, Capuano had created the unholy trio of suck with that combo.

  36. avatar nyc dork says:

Why on earth did Snow let go of Sutton. It still boggles my mind. This team started having softies on D since Sutton left. And still to this day, this D is soft. I phucking hate you snow. I lost a whole lot of respect for you.
At this point i’d chance the face of this team.
    picked p Avery.
suck up your pride and sign McCabe to play the point on the PP and add some grit.
sign samsonov. this way we have than just PA carring the puck in the offensive zone.
Waive Eaton and sign Doug Houda
    Waive all your other mistakes.
What do you have to lose?

  37. avatar Scott says:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAAAA. Waiting for Nino held the fans in hope…. 3 games later and the Isles were just as bad as ever. So we call Haley up, which many of you begged for….do you need me to predict where this will get us? It buys management another game or two with SOME fans. What happens next week? Oh, that’s right, we still have the 3rd jerseys coming. Word has it that they’re gonna announce that the concessions plan to introduce Dunkin Donuts soon.

  38. avatar A says:

    ABOUT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. avatar Adam Cohen says:

Haley was the spark that started it all last season!! TIME FOR THE ISLANDERS TO START PUSHING SOME PEOPLE AROUND!!! And Haley does just that!!

  40. avatar A says:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX_x4RUMY_w That is why he should be on the team! People forget he has hands also! Give him more playing time and a chance and don’t limit his role as just a fighter… if he gets the puck he can score goals also! Bench Pando, Rolsen . Comeu and Bailey all players who don’t do anything!

  41. avatar Scott says:

Watching NHL live and 3 different sources spoke on different topics (including Crosby). In commenting on various recent team and personal successes around the league each of them conceeded, “I know they were playing the Islanders, but….”. We ARE viewed around the league and by anyone associated with the NHL as the Mickey Mouse organization. Huh, just when you thought being the league doormat was bad. Sources don’t even know what to call this team anymore..

    • avatar NoManIsAnIslander says:

Because this isn’t an NHL Franchise, it’s been nothing but a “Leveraged Buyout” by a securities fraud criminal.

Plan A: “Hostile Takeover” – leverage team in a real estate development scheme. (That failed)

Plan B: “Pump and Dump” – stockpile high draft picks, “Pump” future value, and “Dump” to highest (Canadian) bidder.

Wang knows exactly what he’s doing.

  42. avatar GolfGuy says:

    sit Bailey, Pandolfo and Rolston.
    Moulson-Tavares-Okposo
    Parenteau-Nielson-Grabner
    Martin-Ullstrom-NINO
    Haley-Reasoner-Comeau

  43. avatar A says:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAm8YLm2W4Y See he has hands… just give him time… better watching someone young play and be given a chance rather then all the old guys we picked up this year who have not done a thing!!!! This team needs heart!

  44. avatar AJAX says:

I just entered my write in All Star vote for Matt Martin

  45. avatar pruggier says:

Bring up all the young guys we are in last place without them they cannot do any worse, if they go down fighting losing is not as bad

  46. avatar nyc dork says:

This is Capuano’s execution waiting to happen.
In the end of the day Snow will call Cap into his office and tell him, I got you toughness you are still losing. We need a bigger change. Youre fired.

  47. avatar Eric Dixon says:

This is pathetic. We have the worst goal differential in the league (-26) and we’re looking at a fringe 4th liner as a savior. Haley is not even a prospect.

The solution, I believe, is to hire a real coach who can train and develop the young players. Okposo, Comeau and Bailey have all regressed horribly under Capuano and that cannot be a coincidence.

Bring back Ted Nolan. But no, that would mean management would have to admit it made a mistake.

    New slogan —
We’re All Islanders: Hockey For Dummies!

  48. avatar Amerks44 says:

At least Haley has some skill..The “D” should be Streit,Hammer,AMAC,Staios,Reese,Wishart & Jurcina IMO…THAT is a start…Sit Bailey, Comeau and pick one of the 3 newbies added this summer!!!

  49. avatar A says:

Also I will end my rant with that the Isles should send Nilsson back down.. he even admits he still has a lot to learn (see newyorkislanders.com) and bring up Kevin Poulin! He held more then his own last year and anything is better then having DP in net! He is made of glass and when he plays the puck he makes bad decisions with it and lets in soft goals in! I know his heart is in the right place but he is done and in my opinion I never thought he was god in the first place! And was def overrated and should have never came in 1st overall in that years draft!! Obv when Montoya is healthy again he should be the starting goalie! and Nabby at this point when he is healthy should back up!

  50. avatar Tom D in NJ says:

Haley should have been on the roster from day one and they should have kept Konopka.
There needs to be a team toughness and that is pretty hard to expect from one of the softest teams Ive ever seen. Haley and Martin need to beat the crap out of our own guys first and get to to play like men.

  51. avatar Dom says:

    I LOVE Dunkin Donuts coffee!

  52. avatar isles says:

Where’s Poulin? DP is a joke and Nilson showed me nothing.

  53. avatar Blizzard says:

Its about time. This team is listless. What ever happened to a fight to put a spark in your team? It happened last year and guess who was in the middle of it?

  54. avatar Jon in Chicago says:

One of these days I’ll read the news that the Isles have acquired a legitimate NHL player in the prime of his career. Not even an All-Star (that would be stunning) but a solid player. Rolston, Staios, Pandolfo, Reasoner don’t fit that bill.

  55. avatar Darryl says:

Adding a spark to a team composed mostly of rotten deadwood will not result in a fire.

  56. avatar Jeff says:

Scratch rolston pandolfo and reasoner and find out if the oldies are the cancer. Can’t expect leadership and hard work from guys just looking to play out their last year before retirement with no hopes and dreams on a dead end team. No game for old men

  57. avatar Mike says:

SEASON IS OVER!!!!! It really doesn’t matter what they do at this point!!!!!!

  58. avatar crazy j says:

glad to have him= at least he’s willing to drop the gloves for his team

  59. avatar Tony F. says:

How about addressing the defense of this team Garth, it’s awful. I think Dylan Reese should be called up, he looked good playing against Phily”s farm team.

  60. avatar Bob says:

At least the team has some balls now.

  61. avatar Restore the Pride-n-Passion says:

Okposo regressed long before Capuano Arrived, I think It’s unfair to blame the Current coach on that one.

The 2009 World Championships In Latvia… Was his (okposo’s) audition For the 2010 Winter Olympics In Vancouver, He was non- existent on a Young Club, showing even then he had no real Leadership / Go to guy ability!

    Okposo is a Bust.
They should have & still should try moving him Package before he truely has no Value.
    This day is fast approaching.
In this day & age of Current salaries 2.8 million dollar is not as outlandish as it soundes. Maybe convincing another NHL organization to take him straight up is?
    So you package him up.

comeau & Bailey are even easier to part ways with if they wanted to be serious.
that said Keeping Bailey around one last season before moving on would be exceptable he’s three years younger then the full grown Kyle Okposo.
Yea’ ,bringing up Haley is a start I agree with most.
Equally crucial is stepping up to the plate,Yes your Fan Base with knowledge is speaking to you “Islander Managment”.
Time to act like a functioning Creditable Hockey Organization & make the moves we all know need to be done.

Theres still plenty of prospects in the pipe line waiting their chance in the mean time Start sdealing with the dead wood/weight.

Eric, Nolan was a very good coach, Agreed. Regardless of his past off ice supposed antics in Buffalo. (that was past history even back then) The Islanders of all teams should have been the last to care about that.

Only problem, Nolan workes well on the NHL level, with proven players.

    That said….
He would have moved some of the afore mentioned players you listed long ago,
had he been given full autonomy of the Hockey team he was hired to coach.
Thats why he’s no longer here.

    Lets Go Isles…..Lets Go Islanders!

  73. I will now be present MINUS the bag on my head I planned to wear.

    HALEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is definitely a start, but let’s not be silly. Make the fixes that worked last year and let’s start to have a season shall we?

Wishart should be here, Mottau will not be an adequate replacement for Eaton (gosh that sounds pathetic either way). Donovan and Ness look like they deserve a possible call up too, but I’m afraid of Ness’ size, or lack thereof.

Ullstrom, maybe Cizikas, and Gillies on a need basis. Haley is an Islander, he should be in this lineup every night and he proved that last season.

Garth and whomever else needs to show us what Reasoner, Rolston, and Pandolfo bring to the table more than Ullstrom, Cizikas, Haley, and Dibo.

Mostly Reasoner, he’s the new Bruno Gervais to me. I thought I was done hating Islanders, now this guy.

Anyway back to the small dose of positive – can’t wait to see Haley back in action. AND the 3rd jerseys…I’ll wear black, but holding off on this jersey. I spent $ at that Bruins game and I feel I should have been paid large sums of $ to even be there.

  74. avatar Isles1966 says:

Haley brings energy which we desperately need at this point. For all the Wang/Cappy bashers, Snow is the problem. This team was coming around and we launch Konopka, Martinek, Hillen for NHL road kill. And can anyone tell me why Nilson over Poulin ???? Give Cappy credit for recognizing DP gives us little chance against stronger teams. Last question, how is this still so screwed up 15+ years after Pierre Turgeon got hurt ?

  75. avatar j from nj says:

    Guys and Gals,

Haley? Really? The dude will play 3 minutes because Snow will order Capuano not to play the guy. So what’s the point?

  76. avatar Real Hockey Fan says:

.. Its a minor step, NO NO NO hes ‘not the savior” (I think most people realize that) but at least the guy will go out and give you a honest effort and play

.. He will hit people, play with some agression, go into the corners and play with enthusiasm. How many games have we watched the Isles sleepwalk through a SRSLY? —- they have resembled the zombies on the TV show “the walking dead”

.. Its probably 2 lil,2 late but theres 2 much DEAD WEIGHT on the roster (Reasoner and his 1 whole point, yes 1 point!) and the others just going through motions and collecting a paycheck

.. Its a 2 on a scale of 1-10, but at least its something in the right direction.. :-(

  77. avatar 50 in 50 says:

Oh my God, Santa answered my wish list early… Now if he will bring me a pair of tickets to the Stanley Cup finals… Oh nevermind Im still and Isles fan and Emperor Wang is still the owner :o /

  78. avatar AL says:

I like Haley and he should have been here all year. But we still need a much bigger shake up. This is pathetic. What the F are you waiting for Snow?
    A 50 game losing streak???

  79. avatar Cm says:

Moment were all waiting for is for Wang to sell.

  80. avatar DeadoftheDawn says:

Team needs more but I take it…..

  81. avatar Isles Fan In FLA says:

I agree with the overall consensus, Haley is at least a start. He brings what this team needs the most, some effort and some toughness. Perhaps it will rub off on some others. He and Martin need to play more than 5 minutes. The team did play better when Martin, Haley & Konopka were there. Perhaps it was just coincidence but maybe not.

  82. avatar Marc says:

Haley’s infusion will add energy to the team, but it’s certainly not the final piece of the puzzle, nor is he even guaranteed a roster spot for the long-term. Would be great if some of the young d-men were ready (or healthy) for a callup. Capuano should scratch Rolston, Pandolfo, Reasoner and any other veterans that have made minimal (or no) contributions. Nino better be in the lineup tomorrow. Same for Ullstrom. Say what you want, but Comeau should be given another shot too.

Make the team fun to watch again.

  83. avatar 50 in 50 says:

Hey Isles fans wake up…All you Cappy bashers. Do Not blame the coach. Jesus Christ couldn’t make this team a winner. The 2nd and 3rd lines aren’t producing $hit. Every team is shutting down JT’s line knowing we have 0 depth. Stop blaming Cappy for the lack of talent. He isn’t the GM. I don’t blame the mechanic when my car breaks down I blame the GM of the car company for agreeing to use plastic parts. K.O. is a (ZERO, Josh Bailey is a waste, Reasoner is old and slow, Roloston is a never was, Dp is GREAT for the organization as a beer vendor. Face Facts guys the Emperor doesn’t wanna spend a dime. When you strip away bonuses and carried salaries we are at 43 million, thats 5.3 million below the floor. The only team with a more creative accountant is Colorado who sits at 45 million, but at least they are producing.

    • avatar Danfromouteast says:

I strongly disagree with DP being a beer vendor. With all his hip and knee surgeries he’ll never make it up and down the stairs. Plus he can’t even stay in his crease imagine how he’d wander if he’s selling beer. Plus he’d get injured.

  84. avatar Terry says:

I know Gillies doesn’t score or play more then 2min but they should bring him back and play him about 8 min a game he will get better and with Haley and martin can add a spark. Gillies is the perfect team guy doesn’t complain about playing time and will do what ever it takes to protect the team. The 4th line is to bring energy to the team that is what he will bring and maybe spark some of the so called scorers on the team he can also teach guys how to play like a team and stand up for each other.Heavyweights will say it doesn’t matter if you win the fight its about being in the fight.Haley is a good start but bring Gillies with him and say goodbye to pandolfo and Rolston Gillies is more valuable to the team then either one of them.

  85. avatar Danfromouteast says:

For those interested you should read charles wants wikipedia and the controversy part. You will then know why he doesn’t bother with the fan base. He is a selfish creep. Long Islands gordon gecko. You know I was blinded by my passion for the islanders and was pissed the vote was no. But maybe there is more to Wang than we know. When he first bought the islanders with his sake smile

  86. avatar Danfromouteast says:

(Stupid smart phone) continued with wants fake smile and promise of a return ti greatness, he was probably just interested in lining his pockets. He never had a good gm… well Neil smith for a day until he realized wangs a moron. Wang the islanders games should be open to the public you have nerve charging the prices you charge NHL prices when the islanders from the coach to the players are clearly an AHL team and probably a low to middle of the pack one at that. I hope karma gets you good .

  87. avatar Chris Willmer says:

Trade Okposo, Bailey and either Nabokov/DP/1st round pick for Rick Nash. Get Kyle Turris from Phoenix for a 2nd rounder. Worth a shot. Back up the truck of Wangbucks to Shea Weber this summer or try to get him at the deadline as I don’t think Nashville would lose him for nothing.

  88. avatar Danfromouteast says:

When I go to an islander game I feel like jodie foster in the accused after the game. Or like I just dropped my soap in the shower and wang is standing right behind me. The least wang could do is out a condom on each seat because I believe in safety when getting screwed

  89. avatar Danfromouteast says:

Reasoner, Rolston a fourth or fifth round draft pick and an apology letter for konopka.

  90. avatar Danfromouteast says:

Hell throw in mottauo and eaton

  91. avatar Dk says:

As an unrelated point, but a symbolic one of the org’s feelings towards the fans:

I sent an email to cust. Svc. Thanking the team for restarting the isles HOF with 18 the other night. But I politely closed with the fact that the 3rd jerseys are tragic and to almost insulting to the legacy. Four days later no response. But I did get a call this morning to hawk partial plan. I said I would buy seats when Mottau and Pandolfo do as well.

  92. avatar BringBackNyles says:

The third jerseys are hideous. I would rather then bring back the fisherman and play it up for laughs

  93. avatar claude says:

Sure Haley isn’t the complete answer . We all know that. But theres no hesitation with this kid. Thats more than we can say bout’ the comatosed rest

  94. avatar 50 in 50 says:

Okay guys, I have solid facts. The problem is the young guns on this team. Thats rights boys and girls. Apparently the young fellas partied a lil bit in Florida with their old teammates (Chef Bruno and Company). They were acting like a bunch of well…college kids. Apparently this started last year and was snubbed out by some older guys that have since moved on. The attitude is we are like Rockstars, only problem is they aren’t producing and these new old timers aren’t controlling the room.

Some trade interest coming into the Front Offices are focusing around Grabs, J.T. Moulson and go figure Draft Picks (LoL). Which is never going to happen… Think about this, Mr Snowman can’t move anyone even if he wanted too, why would a GM make a trade for a guy they could have signed in the off season. Its not like they are lighhting up the board everynight. Think I will cry myself to sleep watching the highlight reels of years gone by in my fishsticks McCabe jersey……

  95. avatar Chris A. says:

saw the headline and got my hopes up thinking Wang sold the team.

  96. avatar DWC says:

Mottau should not be back in the lineup. I think Haley adds something that is lacking, but I would have preferred Wishart, Reese or even Ness for Eaton. That said, I think others (Rolston and Pandolfo)should have been waived in favor of some young energy like Haley and DiBenedetto as well.

  97. avatar Ct 74 says:

Why does it always have to co9me to absolute desperation time before the team turns to practical hockey steps? Yes, Gillies is as necessary as Haley or anyone else on the team. he is tops at what he does.

    • avatar isles316 says:

It’s past desperation time. The season is over. You CAN’T make up ground in the NHL anymore, everyone gets points. Except of course, us.

  98. avatar Doug F. says:

DRaeger said on the video “The Islanders don’t need players they want draft picks for Blake Comeau”…What???

  99. avatar nyc dork says:

    ewwww draft picks?? lol
good idea Snow, trade Comeau for a 3rd pick just to draft another Comeau or worse.
    clown

  100. avatar Winning says:

With dumb and dumber running this team, isles will play %500 hockey with hailey, miss the playoffs, and come back next october with the mr softee crew and leave all the “men” in the ahl again, and lose of course.

  101. avatar Darren says:

Well we gotta do something the leafs are starting to score and win. We could always rely on them to keep us comfort.

  102. avatar nyc dork says:

Turis signs today with Phoenix. TSN panel states that Turis will most likely be traded and theres is about 5 teams that are interested in Turis. No mention of the isles.

Nice Snow, can you not be creative to land Turis? or do you cherish your draft picks that turn out to be busts anyway.
This is the kind of move i want snow to make. Not these clown shiit acquisition’s like Rolston, staios etc.
    Do some real work Snow!

  103. avatar isles316 says:

The longer this crap goes on without our GM and owner even addressing the fans and not making any real lineup changes, (Haley and Ullstrom don’t count really) the more I read into the fact that Wang is setting this team up for a great deal to move. I just can’t figure it out anymore.

  104. avatar justin says:

Haley needs to be on the 4th line for this game. Martin on the third. You can waste Haley if shat happens but if you lose Martin having to defend all the time you lose all your toughness thru hitting. Donot pay them on te same line. If Haley goes to the box Martins minutes get depleted since there is no 4th line now, The isles now lose big time and get run over. Haleys fine here but no Martin on the same line.

  105. avatar Jon in Chicago says:

Ahhh draft picks. Our GM’s specialty. Getting picks that turn into marginal or lesser players. That’s a sure way to turn around a struggling franchise. Still waiting to see Okposo, Ness, Trivino, De Haan, Koskinen, Bailey and the rest lead us to the playoffs.

  106. avatar Sidd Finch says:

Simply put, the Islanders need to listen to just about any trade proposal that does not include JT. This phase of the re-build is pretty much over and it is an epic fail. I don’t know who, when or where, but we need to make wholesale changes now. At this point, Nail Yakupov maybe on the horizon, but who really gives a rats ass? What are the Oilers and Leafs doing that the Isles can’t seem to figure out? For what it is worth, I am not sure how the sales reps for the Isles can even manage to do their jobs anymore? Whether it is ads or tickets, why would I want to waste my money? After 4 games I was convinced they were on the right track. Don’t I wish that it was October 15th again. Worst part is, after 15 games with his new team, Blake Comeau will have 5 goals and 10 assists, and we will have (another) 4th round draft pick….

  107. avatar Steven says:

Draft picks? What a disgrace. This is the best our GM can do?

  108. avatar WALT says:

The zombies from “the walking dead” tv show swarm their prey and are not afraid of anything. They would b”eat” the Islanders
“ate” nothing. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse you had to read that.
    My apologies.

    • avatar IsleOfNJ says:

LMFAO……too funny. Great show by the way.
Bought my son the video of 10 greatest Islander Games a while ago. Maybe we should all just fire up the DVD player. The ineptness of Snow & Wang is getting to be too much. The last and only bold move Snow ever made was when he traded for Ryan Smith. Ever since, he’s been gun shy.

  109. avatar Michael N, says:

Michael should have been called up before the Ranger game. After all the Raangers had already called up the dirtbag Sean Avery. And for gods sake lets get back Konopka from the Sens. This team had a different personality with those two on the club. It’s probably not going to win them the division but at least the team will have some character guys on the team. Where in the world have Jay Pandolfo and Marty Reasoner been hiding? Where is that veteran leadership we were supposed to have. They look totally lost as a team out there.

  110. avatar Ted says:

Can we get Steve Webb to unretire. Now that was a guy who brought excitement and energy to this team. Webb would never put up with our guys being pushed around. He would of sent Mother Theresa into the boards hard. Lol…I still remember chanting his name like it was yesterday….

  111. avatar Paul says:

Snow killed any value Coma had. But he is the only GM who announces what he wants up front. MORE PICKS…..more picks that amount to NOTHING. WORST GM EVER. Even Milbury had more success.

  112. avatar itsuksbeingislesfan says:

    bailey for turris

  113. avatar itsuksbeingislesfan says:

    nabby for komisarek

  114. avatar Mike P says:

Man I love you guy’s lol. Comeau has NONE, 0 points and drafts picks are to little to ask for in return LMAO. Turris for Bailey ??? LMAO even harder. I know Maloney is a rotten x Rag but he’s not that stupid LMAO. Nabby for Komisarek ???? Burke is gonna trade a hard hitting D man for a hurt 36 yr old goalie when he’s got Reimer ? LMAO LMAO LMAO. I love coming to this page to read your solutions if you guys were GM’s. As if it was so easy and that any GM in the league would accept your wacky proposals. Haley should add a spark but some serious changes should but wont be made, And the fact that Eaton is out for 6 weeks makes me happy so I dont have to watch another one of our old and slow D men get burned on a nightly basis for a while.

  115. avatar FireSnow says:

Now that we have one testie if we call up Gilles we would have a full set of testicles!
Im really shocked its unusual for the Isles to call up toughness against another team that has toughness. Is someone new calling the shots? I thought Comeau was part of the solution, part of the core youngsters we are building this dynasty around or are we shifting focus to older past their prime players or are we going to run a tough team now or, or, or ,or Please get an identity!!

  116. avatar Gary9-19-22 says:

How about we lighten the cap load for Columbus..

Give them the number one, Okposo, Strome and clear cap space and take on Huselius’ contract, and also take Nash. Hey if they want to unload cash then i have n issues taking Carter as well. The basics of the trade are there. We could give up d-man if the really want our crap.

We then wave DP and let him collect his pay check at the Bridge and get his salary off of our cap.

  117. avatar JoeNYC says:

Finally got Haley! Agree with KS about him being just one piece but this is still great news. He brings the Garry Howatt spark plug type energy that this team desperately needs. I just hope the season is not completely lost already. To those folks in the offseason that insisted we did not need any marquis free agents, I say I TOLD YOU SO.

  118. avatar Bob E says:

finally bring up haley for spark.

trading comeau for picks? why. we arent short on prospects. we need players.

Comeau needs to be directed on what he is doing wrong vs what he was doing right last year.

Pull up last years game on Youtube and look at difference. When has comeau gone up the middle toward the net this year?

Ive said it multiple times. The problem we have this year is the VETS are terrible. it all stems from there.

  119. avatar Jack says:

GTFO WANG!!! WE WANT OUR TEAM BACK!!!

  120. avatar Fred says:

Why would we need more draft picks? In year 4 of a rebuild you need PLAYERS NOT PROSPECTS.

  121. avatar upstateIsles says:

Tomas Kaberle for Comeau and a 4th round pick

it clears cap space for them, so that is a hidden “+” for them..makes sense to me…

they want secondary scoring, and we need a D…Comes is one of the guys I like but I guess its tough love…make a move

  122. avatar JEff says:

OK, ENOUGH. HERE’s the real story. Wang is against a hitting/physical game. Snow won’t tell him he’s wrong. Capuano can’t make the calls he needs. We let go of EveryBody that played physical and now it has come to hurt us. Without toughness we are as fragile as DP’s hips, knee’s and effort. Return to Konopka, Gillie’s, Haley and start hitting anything with a different colored jersey on. I PROMISE we will start scoring and winning again.

  123. avatar Billy O says:

If what was written is true about the young players thinking they are rock stars, then it is time to move them all. To me, it means they beleive they are entitled to everything and answer to no one.

They are the equvialent to “OWS” people in Manhattan.

  124. avatar DWC says:

We don’t need draft picks… we need a defenseman with a pulse.

  125. avatar Tom says:

Rumor has it that Snow is talking with the Oilers’ about a trade for veteran defense-man Andy Sutton. A former Islander Sutton is known for his toughness and recently finished a five-game suspension for a hit on Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog.

Could be a deal by weeks end.

  126. avatar Brian G says:

They should scratch: Rolston, Pandolfo, & Reasoner for the next few games and see what these lines can do:

    Moulson Tavares Nino
    Comeau Nielsen Grabner
    Parenteau Ullstrom Okposo
    Martin Bailey Haley

As far as trading Comeau for picks, what is the point. So we can have Rolston, Reasoner, & Pandolfo in the line up the rest of the year. The Isles have no depth to bring up from Bridgeport….

  127. avatar John says:

Anyone who knows hockey can see the problem with this team is on defense. Yes, they do not score goals but that is because they are playing offense with only 3 players and not 5. This years D is so afraid of getting beat because of their lack of speed that they don’t hold the blue line at all. This is also a problem on the defensive end as well as they do use the blue line and back into the zone and give teams a free pass. It drives me nuts. Please bring Hillen and Sutton back!

  128. avatar upstateIsles says:

I’d entertain a move for Sutton, however, we cannot give up too much for him, he was given away for a pick, so nothing more than that.

  129. avatar Bean322 says:

Rumors, prospects, Draft picks, and hope…..welcome to islanders country!

  130. avatar Jim says:

IMO with Haley up tonight’s game becomes the pivotal game of the season. We know they are out of the playoffs but tonight could be a start of getting some respectablility back.

I think Haley will be the catalyst. Don’t be surprised if he gets into a fight on his first shift to wake up the team and get the crowd into it. Then if we could just score a quick goal mixed in with some solid goaltending they might just catch Philly napping and steal a win. Then they will need to carry it from there.

On the flip side, another blowout loss could send this “fragile” team over the edge.

  131. avatar Chris says:

I can’t believe people think one player will have that much of an impact on the Islanders. There is a reason he is not in the NHL and no other team has played him in the NHL. He is not going to make a difference folks…Sorry.

    • avatar Tedge77 says:

Chris you are wrong. When one guy starts throwing hiys it gets the other guys going. You must be new to the sport. We are playing the Flyers. If there is no one to stand up for his team thats when players get taken advantage of. You should know that.

  132. avatar Ed in Westchester says:

You know, several years ago we had a young winger who was kinda big who everyone liked when he was drafted. Then he failed to do much early in his career, and was traded, to much rejoicing. The player then went on to become very good, scoring a lot of goals and points and becoming a protypical big winger.

I see many parallels between that player and Okposo. If Garth trades him, we will rue the day.

Oh, the player I am referring to? Todd Bertuzzi.

I just hope Okposo doesn’t nearly kill another player with a dirty hit.

The guy missed most of last season. You think maybe he is still a little rusty? And some fans want to trade him while his value is LOW. Not smart folks. Not at all.

  133. avatar Tedge77 says:

I wouldnt trade him. I would take the A away from him. Sitting three games did not seem to do much, Maybe that would

  134. avatar IslesOutsider says:

It’s not the crop of draft choices the Isles have accumulated over the years that are bad – it’s the way this disfunctional management, coaching and ownership operates that has poisoned this team. They DO NOT have a clue how to groom and develop their young talent properly. I’ll bet if any of these draftees had gone to a better run organization they would have prospered. Compounding this team’s problems is the lack of a new arena and support from key local politians and community leaders. Sorry to say it will likely get worse before it gets better….”the patchwork fixes will continue but the dyke will continue to flood”.

  135. avatar O'Neill says:

While I am quite upset with the current state of affairs on the island. I do believe picks that we have coming up are going to be a huge help to the team. Ullstrom and niño are the players we need to be going for. Size, grit and skills are what we need up front.

  136. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO THIS: WHEN YOU PUT A $10.00 PRODUCT ON THE ICE YOU WILL NOT WIN MANY GAMES! 137. avatar moonshine says:

andy sutton is 36years old. i don’t get people complaining about over-33 and then wishing for more of it.
islanders should have kept konopka. those little fights of this took the other team off their rhythm and gave the islanders, who are always chasing the game, a chance to breathe. plus konopka’s mouth was a positive vibe around the team. he’s not much of a player and it wasn’t pretty, but on the whole he had earned his keep.

  138. avatar Sumo Goalie says:

Party on Wang! Party on Garth!

  139. avatar SBIsles says:

Quick quiz. Can anyone name the last time DiPietro stole a game or even kept the Isles in the game?

Game starts in like 12 hours and I think they’re already down 1-0.

At least Rolston’s finally scratched. Yeah he’s feeling ill, he has acute sucking at hockey.

  140. avatar hollywood says:

Trading Bailey for Turris straight up should be a definite possibility as they were both top draft picks and neither has lived up to expectations thus far. They have similar career pt/game totals, both centers, plus Bailey makes a bit less than Turris. Seems like a no brainer, although our illustrious GM seems to be starting another rebuild withing a rebuild if its true that he’s looking to accumulate more draft picks. There have been at least 6 teams that begun their rebuild after the Isles, and every one seems to be miles ahead of us. Wrong coach, wrong draft picks, and wrong free agent pick-ups. What an organization we have here, top to bottom. How bout that 3rd jersey, lol!

  141. avatar caber09 says:

Can anyone make a top 10 list of games DP has stolen for us, or clutch wins he has come through for in his 12 years here?

    • avatar the sick one six says:

      yes i can…

#1 he stole a game from the Rags a few years ago making 50+ saves,

      #2 Ummm Ahhh…

      I guess that’s all i got!

    • avatar Erika says:

I don’t remember even one. We used to win in spite of him.
Hosts at XM radio said “that guy could not stop a beach ball!”
Enough said. If I have to watch him blow huge bubbles on the bench with his Grizzly Adams facial hair, I’m going to be sicker than I already am.

    • avatar upstateIsles says:

truth is he used to do it on a nightly basis…fact of the matter is, he will never do it again..

love him for his personality and entertainment value and how damn good he used to be…but injuries take many good players out of this league..what hes doing still trying to compete is beyond me…(obviously trying to earn as much of his contract as possible because he knows garth wont appoint him to a managerial position like every other retiree…its cuz DP is still acting like hes 12…did anyone see his dumb a$$ come out of the runway after the isles beat the canadiens at home and he got first star…what is he 10 yrs old? I know your stoeked but act like you’ve been there before dude)

  142. avatar BanGarth says:

Garth would never trade Bailey , would be admitting his drafting that year was a failure. For some reason , even though he has no track record of success in anything, he is arrogant and thinks he is smarter than other gm’s/hockey people. We don t trade , Garth does nothing. I don t even think he watches games. Welcome back Haley , its a start. Rolston sick ? Again Garth can’t admit it was a bad move ,can t make him a healthy scratch. Fire Garth, Hire a real PR dept you clowns.

  143. avatar Erika says:

We as Isle fans do not ask for much, However, it is very telling when our owner or G.M. do not at least address the fans and calm us down by letting us know what they plan to do to stop the bleeding.
    Their silence is deafening.
Also, something is very wrong in that locker room. These guys do not take care of their own. I have never before watched any team avoid contact or skate away from the puck like this team does. What happened to wearing the helmets backwards and rallying for one another? Mr. Wang, please sell the team. You are much to stubborn to own it. Is your son 18 yet? Sell him the team, and you and your wife can retire. I’m pretty confident he would run it with more pride and wisdom.

unfortunately they probably do not read point blank and dont know how upset us fans are..all they know is that they still can draw about 8000 kool-aid drinkers to the games, so they think all is well with the fans…

Big Difference between Kyle and Todd is 5 inches and 45 lbs. Okposo has proven one thing to me since coming in the league. That he doesn’t really like the physical play and isn’t strong enough to do it well. You can argue that we quit on Bertuzzi and rightfully so (although he is not the guy you win a cup around). But Bertuzzis’ identity as a power forward was pre determined. I ask this of anyone on this board….WHAT IS OKPOSO? Not big or strong enough as a primary power forward….Not productive enough to stay on the second line…..And not physical enough to be on the third and fourth….He has never established the type of player he wants to be , other than a guy who routinely turns the puck over and misses the net.

Good luck Isles can you blame me for picking disneyland over watching the game today…althought I will tivo it, I guess it’s like a trainwreck where you do not want to look but you always have the desire to peek through your fingers while you cover our eyes…and a good luck shoutout to Haley..wake ‘em son…

The salary cap argument works only to a point. Dallas and Phoenix are in the same boat financially and are both light years better. Florida went out in the offseason and spent about the same amount as Snow and is now light years better. This orgnization needs to be imploded. Wang is a clown and he has surrounded himself with clowns.

Can anyone please tell me the point of scratching Nino for a 2nd straight game? ABSOLUTELY no point in having the kid sit in the press box when he can be playing games in Bridgeport.

I understand one game to catch his breath, but 2, thats nuts. No point at all, makes no sense.

love ittt..why you wearing 18 tho..the league remembers the #59 that paired up with Gillies and Martin to pound faces vs Pitt..intimidation factor homie, intimidation

I have read some Islander fans wanting to make trades to get Martinek, Nash & Tyutin from Columbus. Although Nash & Tyutin are among their top scorers, Nash & Tyutin are a -10 & a -4 respectively. Martinek has been hampered by injuries and is a -3. Columbus is just as bad as we are. If they can’t help Columbus win, then how will they help the Islanders win? Unfortunately, there is no trade we can make that’s going to change our path this season. What you see is what you get. As long as Wang and Snow run the show, we will continue to blow…

  152. avatar Jaymz27 says:

Hey The Pro…You are certainly not a pro writer. That is some of the worst grammer I have ever seen. Snow’s hands are tied. No free agents want to come here and he can’t spend any money. If he were to bring someone in by trade, it would cost him Niederriter and / or Strome, de Haan or Donovan and maybe even Anders Lee plus draft picks. Unless we are getting Shae Weber, Zack Parrise or Evgeni Malkin back, no thanks.

I am so upset watching a team like Edmonton have their 1st round picks get points on a nightly basis & COMPETE!…while our 1st rounders rarely show up.
Is it the coach?…the GM?…or did we just pick the wrong guys for our team?(in other words the GM again!!)
Am I the only one tired of being told next year will be better…how long are we supposed to wait for the young guys to come into their own when clearly they’re doing it on other teams.

  154. avatar CM says:

The players we have are good and would likely be better on another team. Problem is we have a losing culture with a dysfunctional owner & the optics of the front office is screwy. If you were new coming into the league would you go to work for the Isles?
Only solution is for Wang to sell. Trades and call-ups are only band-aids.
News of Wang selling is the only thing I want to read and maybe a legit coach.

Season is now over for the Isles.

  155. avatar the sick one six says:

please stop posting trade Parenteau! he is one of the hardest skating forwards we have. Wake up and watch the game. He is one of the few players that gains the zone every time he touches the puck. and yes he does get stripped but he is a puck carring forward. the law of averages are bound to catch up to anyone that touches the puck as much as he does. he might not be a top line forward but he is definitely not trade worthy (unless we are getting something great in return).

  156. avatar Dk says:

We will all be missing botta’s draft lottery updates like his TavDucMan reports leading up to drafting JT. The remaining 60+ games is for ping pong ball slotting and hoping no one kills JT.

Snow doesn’t trade unless it is to get Josh Bailey of course so there isn’t much left to look forward to. I feel so bad that JT has to endure this mess. It’s just a good thing that CB and Jaffe aren’t around day in and day out to question snow’ brilliance. He is so brilliant that only Wang can see it not us mere mortals.

  157. avatar nightbite21 says:

Bless you Haley. How anyone doesn’t think this is a step in the right direction is beyond me. As subpar as his efforts have been at the Bridge this team needs his toughness in the the worst way. Talbot and that POS Briere will def be reconsidering taking liberties this game.

  158. avatar JOE FROM NC says:

while I love how Haley plays and think he should of made team at the beginning of the year. The way some fans on here are getting pumped about his call up is ridiculous. That is the reason management pulls the crap they do. Calling up a 4th liner who is willing to fight makes us “happy” sell the team and put us out of our misery!

  159. avatar FedUp says:

I do not think Haley will be a game breaker, However tuffness is needed especially against philly.
The only thing that will help this club is,
    “Snow Must Go”!!!
    “Wang Must Sell”!!!!

  160. avatar Phill says:

It’s a sad day when the Islander fans get all excited about a role player being called up. I could go on and on about Garth Snow, Wang, gutless players, the dump Called the Coliseum etc.. In the end I choose to walk away from this mess and protect my own health, I’ve been a fan for way too long and looking back being an Islander fan is like having a life long disability. No wonder why I’ve developed a hatred for winter. I’ve watched this miserable team from afar the last 2 years and now I’m done and suddenly looking forward to winter.
