North Easttoo simple? not a fan of this new playoff format. Might lose it if we end up in 5th place next year with more points then a 4th place team in a different conference. Any who, Let’s go Islanders. Let’s have another strong start to the game. In Al we trust!

First off, in order to make the playoffs the name of the game is to win, and win in your “conference”. The first round is going to be against your own conference. Why shouldn’t the top 4 make it? You can’t compare that to another “conference” and team’s points. One of the dumbest things this commissioner did was to get rid of the divisions and make the NHL like the NBA.

Isn’t the playoff format the same as the last time it was changed. Its very simple, if you finished in 5th with more points than a “playoff team” in another conference or whatever its called, thats a problem. Also as a side note, in my opinion, this team doesn’t take the next step until the financially compete, and that doesn’t happen until a new arena happens. I’m tired of the news blackout, a little respect on Wang and company to the fans as to where they are would be nice.

We restate our desire to bring back the old names instead of the geographic names that Bettman brought to the NHL.
The Patrick, Norris, Smythe, Adams Conferences sound so much better, and give the league a way to differentiate themselves from the bland NBA/NFL names -

danfromouteast says: Wow 7 out if a possible 8 points on the road, 3 goals in the first period vs the bolts, dipietro is scratched… what are we fans going to complain about? Oh yeah reasoner is still playing while cizikas can be a much better and younger option. Great playing past five or six games keep it up.

Anyone think Bailey would be a completely different player if he was on a line with Tavares and Parenteau. This obviously wouldn’t do Moulson any good. I personally think Bailey sucks…but the though of Bailey-Tavares-Parenteau doesn’t sounds that wrong. I mean Bailey is skilled there is just something missing.

Who are these guys? Amazing what a little confidence can do….and it all starts with Montoya. A team needs a solid backbone, and will not be as tight when they know they have a netminder that can stop the puck and make some big saves.
Or maybe it just was the unveiling of the black jerseys.

The boys are skating well tonight. The team really looks like they have turned the corner. Some of these young guys are really startng to play. And Josh Bailey is really starting to play well! (As I started to write this, Bailey crossed the blue like and makde a BEAUTIFUL behind the back, no look pass to Ulstrom for a goal!) If Bailey is finally becoming the play we all hoped for we will really start to become a force in this league. Some of the young talent is making a believer of me.

I like the idea of the original division names becoming the conference names. Patrick, Norris, Adams, Smythe. Though, Wales and Campbell are also good and could replace Norris and Adams since there are now trophies named after those. So – Patrick, Wales, Campbell, Smythe.

No coincidence that this team started to win again when Montoya came back from injury and became our “unofficial” number one. Keep Rick far away from this team.

We are missing several key cogs in Nino, Grabs, and McDonald, but with Monty and Haley IN and 2 BAD fish OUT, I like our chances tonight to continue on the plus ride and grab 2.
