Nilsson = LOSS!!!!! Where is POULIN??? guy gets 2 shutouts in a row and they leave him in Bridgeport??? Time to get rid of the OLD CRAP and bring up the kids from Bridgeport!!! This season is OVER let the kids play!!!!!

  2. avatar kingdm9 says:

do the islanders do whats best for their pockets or what makes the fans happy?. fans are what pays the bills.

pouls should be up and playing, so should dehann . isles clearly lack a phy. d -man so resse is not the answer ,but he is better then motts.

garth is looking more like his hands are tied and is a puppet to wangs game. running the team on a budget. with no hope

makes no business sense . the idea is to improve the product so people are welling to give you what you want.

makes no business sense . the idea is to improve the product so people are willing to give you what you want. why would anyone invest in a building with low attendence that they give tickets away too. if you think 4$ and 45$ glass seats on stub hub are paying the bills your dead wrong!!!!

the best thing to happen to the collisum is a natural disaster. but in the ises case the town would run away with the insurance money!!!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>

the next big question should be what team will you root for if the isles leave ? the dark side of the force that we love to hate ? the devils now they suck .

at least we have are boys upstate

  4. avatar Danfromouteast says:

Im just a little confused or I misunderstand. If wang wants to sell the team wouldn’t he improve the team to get more money? I mean it’s like before you sell your house you punch some wholes in the walls start a small fire in the kitchen etc. He’s an absentee landlord. If I told you what I wished happened to that loser on this site police would be knocking on my door

  5. avatar Danfromouteast says:

I’d live to meet wang so I can get on pf those really good clammy spits worked up and I’d plant it right in his face.

    • avatar Don says:

Just when I was liking your posts Dan, you throw stuff like this out there. Come on Dan. You’ve shown you know hockey and are capable of giving good insights. Leave this garbage for the fan wannabes.

  6. avatar Danfromouteast says:

Wang is making the islanders just like everything else we buy in America that’s made in china- cheap and not built to last.

  7. avatar D in Big D says:

Nahhh. If they move they’ll have serious ownership, solid fanbase, legit NHL coach, legit budget & NHL so why not root for them? When they do move I bet

  8. avatar D in Big D says:

they’ll become pretty solid w/ a couple of no-brainer moves that’ll make Garth look like a fool.

  9. avatar Danfromouteast says:

Taking my kids to the to see disney on ice and I bet they can beat the isles because they are a lot more grittier and skate more than half the islanders

  10. avatar IslesinAZ says:

Do Islanders fans post on this site anymore? Geesh! I’ll be at the game tonight, wearing my Isles jersey behind the Coyotes bench. Go Isles!

    • avatar Don says:

IslesinAZ – It is amazing. It seems that most posters here would rather rip CBW, Snow and DP instead of making real, thoughtful hockey posts. Don’t give up though. There are some good posters on this site.

      • avatar stopthepain says:

Are you kidding me? Year after year of rebuild, with no visible result on the ice and you want positive hockey analysis? Most fans would be pleased with progress (as evidenced by having a non morbid offense and a defense that can turn the puck over fewer than 20 times a period), even if we didn’t make the playoffs. Instead, what do we see on the ice. Regression. When the Isles give us something to write about that is positive and constructive, trust me, the fans will turn out in droves. When we are given a team that 1. has no identity, 2. can’t skate well for the most part, 3. can’t shoot straight, 4. can’t make the outlet pass, 5. has the worst 5 on 5 goal differential in the league, signs ineffective vets to coach the “kids,”…etc…seriously, what’s the point. I’m not writing anything that isn’t posted here in one form or another 3 times a day. Move the team, sell the team, do something…just stop giving us this stuff…I used to love this team…I used to hate Wang for his ineffective leadership, now, I, like many fans are just flat out indifferent to them. And as proof of the general fan indifference, I’d love to see if there was a falloff in visits to this site. I just don’t care anymore. When Wang sells maybe I’ll get interested again. Not til then…

  11. avatar themass says:

I saw Nilson in Hershey with Bridgeport. He was the ONLY reason they won. Give the kid a chance. Play solid D in front of him and he’ll be alright

  12. avatar Bean322 says:

Jay “Winning Wisdom” Pandolfo is back !

  13. avatar NYI says:

Can anyone explain to me why Haley doesn’t play? He is way better than Pandolfo or Rolston or Wallace

    • avatar Bean322 says:

Maybe….. because this is the New York Islanders and they dont know how to run a professional sports team??????

  14. avatar NYI says:

That might just be the answer!

    • avatar Don says:

No. The answer is because Haley doesn’t make enough money for the Isles to get to the cap floor. That is the only reason Pandolfo and Reasoner are on this team. I can’t really answer for Wallace though.

  15. avatar Steven says:

The goal of Islanders are to make friends not win hockey games. That is why Rolston is not in the minors or Pandolfo and Mottau not released.

  16. avatar Jon in Chicago says:

Rolston on the second line? He shouldnt be on the second line in the AHL. I just don’t get it.

  17. avatar Keith says:

Another defensive zone breakdown from PA leads to a quick Coyotes goal, 1-0 bad guys. PA is soft as cheese, only assets are speed, hands and vision, I have never seen him win a physical 1-on-1 battle.

    • avatar Larry G says:

You can not blame PA, when Stalemost had complete control of the puck, and no close pressure. Stalemost put that puck perfectly on Doans stick, take another look.

Stalemost, with a perfect pass DEEP IN OUR ZONE, from behind our goalie, to Shane Doan, and he shoots and scores 1:41 into the game.

And people actually think, DeHaan isn’t better than Stalemost?

Coyotes 1-0, as Butchie & Jiggs, were talking about how the Coyotes record is horrible when they don’t score first.

Between Rolston giveaways, last night (every night) and cement skating abilities, allowed Ryan to tie the game on a PK, & took the heart/mojo, right from the Isles. Rolston on a PP for the Isles, handicaps the team, he proves every night, but he is Weights friend, so that is all that matters, forget the team and winning. Wang, with the 5 FAs signings, ensured another top 5 draft pick. of course he will be trading down, and waste another draft, but Bettman & the NHL, don’t care.

How is Pandolfo, inserted into tonight’s game over Haley?

      Wang must sell!

40 year fan, FORMER SEASON TICKET HOLDER

  18. avatar Jersey Steve says:

Watching some of these ‘vets’ is just painful. Sometimes I wonder why I abuse myself.

    • avatar Larry G says:

      I completely agree.

Coyotes second goal, comes on a turnover, because speed skater Rolston can’t catch up to a lead pass, trying to get the puck into their zone.

Coyotes third goal, involves another ‘vet’, as Pandontful could not clear the puck from the side boards, in our zone.

Way to put a Quality team on the ice, Wang!

Time to watch the NFL Wild card game.

  19. avatar Keith says:

Who did PA pick up in the d-zone? the answer, no one… doan came off his wing and picked up a rebound, its wasn’t a bang bang play, pa was 5 feet behind doan, probably distracted checking out in “flow” in the glass…

  20. avatar Jon in Chicago says:

Funny how Doan had no points in six games and now he has two goals. Amazing what the Islanders can do for the opposition. I’d like to say the season is over but it was actually over sometime in August.

  21. avatar Jeff wall says:

The fail for nail is on.

  22. avatar Steven says:

It’s a miracle JT has not asked for a trade.

  23. avatar Jersey Steve says:

It’s great watching Nino waste away on the 4th line.

  24. avatar Jeff wall says:

Wow this period is ugly. Worst all year. Cappy is lost and has no control of his teams performance. Nilsson should be in in the third for a look. So what is the latest draft rankings?

  25. avatar SadIslesFan says:

Can’t help feeling like the season ended this weekend. Or the illusion that the season wasn’t over ended. End the charade. Okposo is a third liner. DP is 100% done. Our defense blows. Slow and steady rebuild my ass. It will be a miracle if this team does anything worthwhile before it moves. Sorry to be so grim, but I started watching this team in 93-94. They haven’t given me much to smile about in all these years. When a first round playoff ouster (Toronto) is the best thing you’ve seen in 17 years as a fan… well, you’re in trouble. If there’s a reason for optimism — I’M ALL EARS

  26. avatar nightbite21 says:

How does Snow sleep at night??? Can’t watch anymore.

  27. avatar Jon in Chicago says:

Luckily they play Detroit and Philly next. Is the Capuano watch back on even though this mess is only partially his fault.

  28. avatar Bomber24 says:

Just boring awful hockey. Zero physicality. 12 fighting majors on the year???? Please bench the devils retreads!!!! Haley, gallant, bring em up!!! Let’s at least make it fun!

  29. avatar IVO says:

    LETS GO SOUND TIGERS!

POULIN RECORDS THIRD STRAIGHT SHUTOUT IN 4-0 W

    I love these guys!

  30. avatar Mike says:

wang & snow= EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SELL THE TEAM TO SOMEONE WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!

  31. avatar CM says:

Players know whats going on. 100% they read this blog too. Depressing being part of this team. Hard to play for an owner who is a snake.

  32. avatar Isles3113 says:

I didn’t watch the first 50 mins but caught the last 10… The last minute was the most disgraceful thing ive seen all year… Making this guy have chance after chance to get a hat trick, then he gets it’s with .1 secs… Absolutely disgusting!!!

  33. avatar IVO says:

    Go Tigers!

  34. avatar The Haley Hammer says:

I was rooting for Doan to get his Hattrick in the worst way. Good for him. SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL! SELL WANG SELL!

  35. avatar SadIslesFan says:

Bomber24, I was always the first one up screaming, “Let ‘em go, ref!” But after reading all the articles over the past year (NYT three-part story is ESSENTIAL), I’m over fighting in hockey. It ruins peoples’ lives. Sorry, not worth it. The game should produce the entertainment. And unfortunately, we can’t play the game.

  36. avatar The Haley Hammer says:

That being said, anyone want 4 tickets to the rest of the divisional games? I was suckered into buying them by management convincing me we had a chance at the playoffs this year. Believe nothing of what you hear, and half of what you see.
