  1. avatar Greg says:

seriously, move nino off the 4th freaking line already. the time is now.

  2. avatar Hishutzi Skorz says:

Rolston should be on the FIFTH line!

  3. avatar Ethan K says:

Goes without saying, we need these two.

  4. avatar Al says:

If they sweep, I might come out of hybernation. Seriously though, they’re looking good and hope Snow makes something happen. Let’s go Isles

  5. avatar Timp says:

PLEASEEE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SWITCH NINO AND ROLSTON!!!! Give Nino a shot with Bails… Wallace and Pandolfo are Baileying his progress… no other NHL team would ut their top young prospect on their non scoring grinder line and give him 5-10 minutes a game… It’s a JOKEEEE

  6. avatar Stumpy32 says:

Win tonight, and we’re 7 points out, regardless of what anyone else does. Remarkable stuff. That’s still steep, but to think we have even a remote shot, well…its like coming back from the dead.

I’m in my “will/won’t” ambivalent stage. Win these two, and I’ll be foaming at the mouth during the week off ready to go.

  7. avatar DaGiants says:

No surprises here. Letting Nino rot on the 4th line…Oh well, at least the D-lines look a lot better without mottau and the other old farts

  8. avatar kenny b says:

would be really interesting to see how far this team could go with no rolston, panawful & wallace. move nino up, play haley and anyone else from the bridge on the fourth.

  9. avatar SnowBalls n Wong says:

I feel the start of a 6 game losing streak. This is the usual time for this to occur when people start thinking we have a serious shot at a playoff spot. Teams will start playing their 1st string goalies and we will disappear and reappear again at the draft tables for our usual 5-9th spot at the draft. Just saying

    • avatar isleopine says:

Pessimistic and wrong u are Snowballs. Wrong because if you would look at the recent games that we won you will note that we beat ward, bobrovsky (not officially a number one but arguably better than the number one), enroth (also better than the miller this season). As for tonight if the Leafs put out reimer (their purported number one), I think we have a great shot. Just look at his stats.

  10. avatar Mike says:

4 pts Boys!!!!!! LETS GO ISLANDERS!!!!!!!

  11. avatar Erika says:

Enough is enough! Why the hell is Nino still playing on the 4th line while the life support crew are getting (and flubbing) valuable ice-time????
Really, it’s beyond pathetic. I cannot understand why the coach would not at least try this for a game. Jeez, it’s not like Rolston is putting up numbers or anything, in fact, I can’t think of one good thing he does on the ice! C’mon, give the kid a shot already! Can’t help feeling Capi’s hands are tied on this one!

  12. avatar Isles71 says:

All line combos are based on the fact that we are at the cap floor. If they were above, say 5-10%, then I would hope that Ullstrom, Haley and say Wishart would be with the club. Since we are trolling the floor, have to keep these stiffs in the lineup…and if SnoWang is paying a guy 2nd or 3rd line money, then thats where they will play!!! Sad how their minds work…anyway…go isles!!!!! just win baby!!!

  13. avatar Jeffb34 says:

Looks like Nabokov will be starting tonight according to goaliepost.com

  14. avatar John says:

Isles sweep the Maple Loafs and they are right in it for a playoff spot. Tonight’s game will speak volumes about how bad this team wants it.

And gotta agree, get Nitto on the line with Bailey, it can only help both of them and get rid of Rolston, Reasnor and Wallace and bring up some young blood to play hard and well for the few shifts they will get, can they be any worse than these three?

  15. avatar jeff says:

enough with the wallace already. he blows and brings nothing. haley should be here.

why isnt ullstrom back here yet? he’s had plenty of rehab games. is it because he’s big, fast and talented and rolston, pandolfo and wallace are none of those? oh yeah, must be…its the islanders

  16. avatar EJ1SINCE40 says:

IF IF IF they can sweep the back to back, home and home with the Leafs, .500 at the All-Star break will be HUGE lift for the team’s confidence.

Still plenty of games left and they got hot after the break last year also. Lot’s to analyze, but it can’t get any simpler: SWEEP THE LEAFS!!

  17. avatar Staten Islander says:

A sweep would be nice, but i’ll be realistic, I’d be happy with a split, and Phenouf getting smacked

  18. avatar Isleman81 says:

Can we please send back Wallace and bring up Ullstrom or Cizikas? Bailey and Ullstrom looked like they complimented one another pretty well before Ullstrom went down. Bailey will never develop properly until he gets legitimate linemates. I truly believe Comeau was a big roadblock in his Bailey’s development; obviously he was rushed as well, but I’m just saying.

    • avatar Dk says:

Wthe org didn’t help Bailey at all keeping him on the big squad, but we all need to realize he was projected to go 15th thru 20th if not lower. Snow just developed a rock for him like he did with de Haan an had to get him. He was not projected to be much more than a 3rd line center with the upside of maybe a 2nd. He largely is what his low end said he’d be. It isn’t like he was a guy protected to get 70 pts that is getting 50. He is a guy expected to get 55 and is getting 30 (if he heats up).

  19. avatar Dk says:

And Wallace, Pandolfo, reasoner should only be wearing jerseys if they paid for them ….. Except for those hideous black pieces of garbage. Those should be taken by whoever would be seen in them.

  20. avatar william says:

Tonight and tomorrow night could be the start of what we all hoped it could be. I live near Toronto and hate the leafs. All I hear is how great the leafs are. Go isles go…play like we’ve been playing and shut them up for a while!

  21. avatar Jim Clark says:

Remember, boys, equal portions of pugnacity, testosterone, truculence and belligerence.

    1967!
    1967!
    1967!

  22. avatar Mike says:

HEY CAPUANO if you dont TAKE NINO off the 4th line 2 things we will never know if hes any good
    ROLSTON IS NOT THE FUTURE
    NINO IS
ITS BETTER TO SEE WHAT YOU GOT NOW SO YOU HAVE A SET TEAM IN THE FUTURE

  23. avatar j from nj says:

The Isles better be ready to play the next 2 nights. There is no reason to start slow. They better throw the body, protect the puck and get some good goaltending. If they let Phaneuf go after Tavares, sick everyone on him.

  24. avatar Isleman81 says:

Good point DK…never thought about it like that.

    • avatar Dk says:

I had to remind myself to be honest, I had his draft class preview mag still handy and he isn’t exactly falling that much below projection as he really doesn’t have game changing size or speed. Our best hope might be him improving on face offs and getting stronger and kind of become our Manny Mahlotra. A guy that was drafted for O but settled into a D role.

  25. avatar GeneF says:

Toronto, ON — Air Canada Center — MSG+, RIS,

Kevin, what about the victims of the TWC/MSG war? The crappy online feed. But I guess it’s better than nothing

  26. avatar DaGiants says:

Please Cappy, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!!! Nix the senior citizens and move Nino up!

  27. avatar chad says:

“If they let Phaneuf go after Tavares, sick everyone on him.”

like who? thats the effing problem – there is no one to ‘sick” on him

  28. avatar kenny b says:

Chad is correct! Other than Martin, there is no one. Why Haley is not on this team is beyond me???? He won’t win us a cup, but he will dance with anyone. let ‘s allow Martin to hit and skate and get some muscle to protect JT in the lineup.

Konopka, Haley & Gillies. They were fun to watch.

    Let’s beat the Leafs!!!

  29. avatar j from nj says:

There’s your typical Islanders start. Awesome.

  30. avatar Jon in Chicago says:

Sleepwalking through the first few minutes. Could get ugly in a hurry.

  31. avatar Kevin says:

For you fellow Isles fans who are having trouble watching the game on TV. Visit this site……

Click on the small england flag (for english language) in the top right corner and go from there.

    Enjoy

  32. avatar CM says:

Remember everyone. Still alot wrong with the team. JT is nice to talk about.

Team and especially management needs more hunger to win. I just don’t see it yet. This is needed to at least make a push for playing some menaingful games in the next month.

  33. avatar Jersey Steve says:

We are one line and a goalie right now….get Nino of the 4th line and bring back Ullstrom and Haley before the 1st line cools off.

  34. avatar Jon in Chicago says:

8 shots on goal through nearly two periods. Lousy effort. Amazing they’re still in this game.

  35. avatar WM says:

Wonderful game. Streit with the only goal so far.

  36. avatar william says:

the leafs will have to kill someone before they get a penalty..it’s sickening! not looking so good after the end of second period.

  37. avatar Mike says:

11 shots on net????? REALLY!!!!!!!Flatley looks younger then pandolfo & rolston!!!!!

  38. avatar Brian says:

    YAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWNNNNNNNN

One of the worst efforts of the season. This is a team fighting for a playoff push??

  39. avatar Jon in Chicago says:

About to get shut out for the league-high eighth time this season. They’ve played 47 games. Dreadful.

  40. avatar Mike says:

Did they remove ALL of striets talent during that surgery???? No wonder Mont let him walk away he is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

  41. avatar giz says:

Awful game to watch u could see Isles had nothing tonight from the start. I would mix up the bottem 2 lines or make some call ups. We have the worst 4th line in hockey each guy has 1 pt an our third line would be a 4th line on any other team.

  42. avatar D in Big D says:

This topic is a joke after watching tonights game!!!Both can be lost for all I care.0 pp what a joke by the NHL.Should have had @ least 2 pp.One the net crash on Nabby & 2 the obvious hold on KO in defensive zone when trying to get up ice out of Isles d-zone.

  43. avatar RICH L says:

lol Yeah, EJ1since 40,i agree if, if, if, if, so many ifs, posted by others in here, and as they say, if the Queen had ballz, she would be the king.
