First question to come to mind when I saw this thread. Please answer guys
-
Great question!! Why is Nino not moved up?He is playing so much better of late.
-
-
-
crap mike I wanted to ask that
-
everyone wanted to ask that
but i have an answer capuano is not smart nino has more talent than rolston

Why aren’t we focused more on moving to Brooklyn. I understand there are only 14,500 seats but wouldn’t the team be happy is they averaged 14,500? Also I’m sure they wouldn’t have to sell as many tickets for 20% of face value along with nicer suites.
-
Good question Mitch…moving to Brooklyn is a no brainer. My suggestion is to sign a short term lease with the Barclay Center and see if Nassau County blinks…
-
Even if Wang doesn’t want to Brooklyn, why doesn’t he at least use it as a bargaining chip with Nassau County, who as the past decade has shown won’t get anything done until the U-Hauls drive up.
-
The site lines stink for hockey. forget about it. We need a first class arena, not an arena just to move into like some kind of homeless team.
-
-
What do you think of Isles draft pick Brock Nelson leaving North Dakota after this college season. 17 goals 10 assists in 24 games so far. He is listed at 6’4 195 and has the combination of skill and speed up the middle that the Isles need.
-
In the upcoming CBA, should the league address permiting entry level contract bonuses to apply to the cap? It appears teams, including NYI, are using this method, which might be counter productive to player development, to meet the cap floor since in all likelihood the chances the team pays 100% cash on the salary/bonus is very low?
-
Please do true value again for this upcoming deadline!
-
Chris,
Why do you waste your time reporting on the Islanders on your podcasts? It seems management doesn’t want to improve the product so why report on it.
-
Please evaluate Garth Snow’s ability or lack thereof to sell free agents on coming to Long Island. Does he get a total pass based on the building?
-
Is ownerships unannounced goal to be .500 this year and bring the kids up next year with some real free agent additions?
-
Chris,
If you look at their current roster, the Islanders need four NHL quality players at 2nd line center, power forward, a stay at home defenseman and another defenseman that is good on the power play. If I was the GM, I would start working on improving the team now instead of waiting to shop in the summer when he has to compete with 29 other teams for players.
-
Chris,
Why don’t the Islanders try to trade for either defensemen Jeff Schultz or Yannick Weber? Both are available.
-
Isles are a team with a lot to look forward to with their depth of young but unproven talent. They are improving but still need help in basically all areas. What area/position do you think is most pressing for the Isles to address? Secondary Scoring? A particular type of player? A D-Man? Goaltending?
-
Chris, how important do you think it is Garth Snow looks for a legit #2 center this summer? Bailey just isn’t cutting it and Nielsen makes a solid defensive #3 center.

At what point does Wanger spend some cash and put a winning team on the ice?
-
I love DP and I feel really bad that’s he’s been so unfortunate with injuries over the past 4-5 years? What makes most sense for him to get back to NHL ready, clearly trying to battle back into lineup doesn’t work.
-
What hurts more; JT not top 25 snub or horrible officiating in home and home vs Toronto
-
Top 25 snub*
-
-
-
Why doesn’t Garth make a move? Any move to help this team? Simply dont understand. This team is so close to being a playoff team.
-
Whats up with all the castoffs? Jurcina, Mottau, Rolston, Reasoner etc!!! Is this Gilligan’s Islanders? Does Garth think this little of his team and fanbase?
-
PA Parenteau and Frans Nielsen are impending UFAs; what do you think would be fair value for their contracts and (if they do hit free agency and get into a bidding war) where would you draw the line for your highest offer before you let them go?
-
Oh yeah: Ned Braden, Charlestown, PA, Princeton Class of ’72
-
-
In past years the islanders have been far out of reach of the playoffs by the deadline..if the islanders hang within 7-5 points from a playoff spot does Garth have the obligation to trade as a buyer?
-
Chris,
Here is a “softball” question for you..When will Garth Snow be accountable for the job he is doing?
-
Chris,
Here is another “softball” question for you…When will they replace Butch Goring on TV with Patrick Flatley? If they are to keep Goring at least let him wear an Islanders jersey so at least he doesn’t insult our intellegence.
-
Which of the following prospects do you think will make the team next year?
Donovan, DeHann, Ulstrome, Rhakshani, Cizikas.
Thank you. -
Have the Isles (Garth Snow) had any contact this year with Petrov or his agent about his plans for next season?
-
Do you think the Islanders could/should sign Dennis Wideman in the summer?
-
Continuing off Mike Gallant’s point about Nino getting 4th line minutes, wasn’t Garth Snow on record earlier this season saying that Nino would only stay on the team if he received top 2 line minutes? Given his early injury and success of the new first line, it’s understandable that he hasn’t been placed on the top line, but he should at least be given a shot on a line in which he is playing with a playmaking center and skilled opposite winger. What are your thoughts on this situation?
-
What do you think is in the pictures Rolston has of Wang and Snow?
-
Chris- Is it fair to adopt the point of view that this team is playing out the string, where the string represents the next three and a half seasons? In other words, no significant signings, no quality veteran signings and never going above the cap floor until 2015? Seems that’s been the way for the past few years now, as there have been very few (if any) moves to improve a young team with so many gaping holes.
-
Is this pretty much what we are going to have until 2015 and they move?
-
Is there something the Isles can do to address the HORRIBLE Officiating . Almost through 2 full games and Toronto has not been shorthanded. Several high sticks by Leafs with nothing called. On the second goal, ye the player was knocked into montoya but he just stayed in the crease made no effort to get out. agin nothing called
-
How many points have been lost to lopsided officiating. In my opinion it’s the worst when we play an original 6 team
-
Mickey Mouse league ! It’s pathetic ! What are these refs from Toronto too !
-
I’m gonna boycott the allstar game too !
-
Maybe Ovechkin is right to boycott the All Star game…
-
-
It seems like John Tavares has been playing with a chip on his shoulder, as of late. It’s clear this guy wants to win games. Why don’t we see that sense of urgency from the other players (Matt Martin, notwithstanding)?
-
If you were Garth, would you trade Frans, PAP or Nabokov?
-
Chris
Do you think this team needs more toughness on it? When J.T gets a head shot on him and know one retaliates thats a bad sign. In a playoff type game and must win games this team is too soft?
-
Why isn’t Rolston or Pandolfo ever a healthy scratch? Why don’t we keep Haley on the roster for games that we need more toughness?
-
When do you think we will see some kids from the Bridge get the call to replace some of these old vets?
-
What do you suppose would be the call if someone like Dion Phenauf almost removes the head of JT, with the officiating having an obvious bias against the Isles I would say the call would be 2 minutes on JT for delay of game for dripping blood all over the ice.
-
C.B.
At some point the isles need to make a decision on the goaltending since Nabokov and Montoya are free agents at seasons end and both I am sure would not come back in the present situation what do you see the Isles doing and pls do not include Dipietro he is finished.
-
What did you think of Ryan Stromes play at juniors and do you see him making the jump to the NHL next year?
-
What did you think of Ryan Stromes play at the World Juniors and do you see him making the jump to the NHL next season?
-
The Islander bias is becoming more and more evident in both the league and the media.Just this past week alone with the taveras top 25 under 25 snub, the hockey news negative slant on JT stuck on the island and the no calls for 2 straight games against the leagues beloved leafs…Wow. Imagined or real Howie?
-
Welcome back Mr.Botta you are truly missed on this blog.My question is this.Do you in your educated opinion think that Mr.Wang is done w/ wanting to own this team & therefore is just operating @ cap floor budget til 2015?
-
How do the Islanders reach the cap floor next season with so many UFA’s and buyouts coming off the books?
-
How come noone answered any of the questions here, next time do not post a thread like this, it is a waste of everything, you are a major fail…
-
guys i believe at the deadline if p.a. not signed u have to get something for him i would see what the market is for streit/nabokov.do u agree thanks

why do you think Nino N is still on the 4th line? He seems to show enough talent to be at least on the 3rd. And don’t tell me it’s a numbers game because Rolston has not produced and would look better on the 4th line.
