maybe the isles will pick up brad staubitz who was placed on waivers today by minny..a guy who can hit, fight, and play..would be upgrade over wallace

  2. avatar Bean322 says:

and why would garth want this

  3. avatar eric says:

I’d love to see the Isles Get Bobby Ryan, Jeff Carter and a small move for Zidlicky. Ryan and Carter are young and can grow with JT and our young core. Keep JT, Moulson NINO, Hamonic, Streit, Okposo and Strome-Poulin…..eveyone else is trade bait get er done Garth!!! Zidlicky can sticky til our youth come up- Katic-Ness- Donovan-

  4. avatar eric says:

    future lines- Moulson-JT-Strome
    Ryan-Carter-Okposo
    Casey-Bailey-Nino
    Martin-Ulstrom-Haley

    D- Streit-Hamonic
    Zidlicky-McDonald
    Katic- Ness or Donovan

    • avatar Mad Mike says:

So you want to trade Parenteau and Nielsen for Carter, Ryan, and Zidlicky? What color is the sky in your world? Ain’t happenin’. No way. No how. Never. Nada. Nope. And you forgot about the best defense prospect: Calvin deHaan.

  5. avatar Mike P says:

Bobby Ryan, clap, clap, clap clap clap !!!! Bobby Ryan, clap, clap, clap clap clap !!!! Bobby Ryan, clap, clap, clap clap clap !!!! Bobby Ryan, clap, clap, clap clap clap !!!!

If he’s available at the deadline, this years 1st rounder should be a part of the package. You do what you need too to get this guy who has 3-4 yrs left on his contract and is only 24. PERFECT fit for this team !!!!

DO IT GARTH !!!! DO IT, DO IT !!!

  6. avatar Piper (in DC) says:

They don’t have enough to get those players. Keep Carter. To many injuries already. Nash should be the 1st one they get. Draft a D-stud. Use their 1st pick (plus 3 more picks) to move up into the top 2.

  7. avatar giz says:

If I’m Snow I try to grab Chris Stewart of the Blues if he’s really being shopped! He can protect JT an score as well….he scored 28 goals twice already, he’s only got 11 this year but with Tavares easily a 25 to 30 goal scorer year in an out and teams will think twice about taking runs at JT.I Like Nash an Ryan but cost would be alot higher than Stewart.

  8. avatar Jersey Steve says:

No offense, but it is funny to see some of the armchair GM trade scenarios.

  9. avatar MarioCT says:

Did you guys notice that this thread is about Dylan Reese? It’s not about your GM opinions.

  10. avatar moonshine says:

i know more than i’d like about knee injuries and they’re no fun. the video tells you all you need about reese’s injury. if he’s back in six weeks that’s about as quick as you can hope.
on a related injury note, anyone notice that msg’s graphics had hamonic in the starting lineup last night? professionals…
and on an unrelated tv note, did i hear butch say that bryzgalov is now ‘in cookie pressure in philadelphia’?

  11. avatar Blizzard says:

I love reading these trade delusions. Garth will do nothing.

    He has no balls.

    • avatar Grandma's Boy says:

You are probably right. But trade delusions are fun, and diehard fans can always hope.

The problem is so many teams feel they are still in the playoff race, so there will be limited selling. Of course Bobby Ryan would be awesome for the Isles, but the Ducks are not a lost cause. This holds true for every single team in the NHL except for Columbus.

      • avatar islandersfan4ever says:

snd the only reason Columbus is out of it was the 10 game suspension to The Wiz in the beginning of the season.Shanahammer doesnt do that anymore, instead the penalty du jour is now $2,500.00
Columbus was thus out of it as soon as the season began….poor Blue Jackets. Shanahan sucks..

  12. avatar caber09 says:

Those people who actually think Garth is going to do anything positive have not been paying attention to the last 5 years….he has NEVER shown any ability to improve the team, let alone improve the team midseason since Feb 2007

    • avatar robert says:

that is 100 percent correct. snow has done nothing to improve the team and never will regardless of glaring weaknesses to compete with other teams in the nhl. if anything he only does what ever he can to destroy top talent like he is doing now with nino. in wang and snows sick and delusional and dysfunctional mind, they believe if they ruin ninos career, then they can offer him less money in a few years.

  13. avatar RICH L says:

Hey BigDaddyLynch, yeah sure not at the rate Snow makes deals, also if the Queen grew a pair, she would be the King. But having hope is good therapy, I suppose.

  14. avatar Brian G says:

No Carter please….Garth will just sit on his hands and wait til that 3rd rd pick for Nabokov falls into his lap on 2/27…ha

  15. avatar RICH L says:

Jersey Steve, throw in a bag of cheetos and you got a deal.

  16. avatar Doug F. says:

How about Mike Komiserek for a pick?

  17. avatar Real Hockey Fan says:

.. Is there anyway we can get JEREMY LIN?

.. The Guys flatout AMAZING! :-)

  18. avatar Anthony says:

Guys you forgot Mattau and Reasoner are coming back soon and are going to be big players to make a run lol so who needs a trade.

  19. avatar DB17 says:

I want no part of Jeff Carter- contract or otherwise. About the only player who would interest me as far as parting with prospects/high draft picks would be Shea Weber. Nothing else is worth that to THIS team, at THIS time.

    • avatar Jim Clark says:

Neither do I. Laviolette didn’t want him in Philly and look what happened a decade ago when Mad Mike decided to listen to the complaining players instead of the successful coach.

I love Weber but would he love us?

    • avatar Doug F. says:

Or Bobby Ryan…he would be a perfect fit with JT…it will be hard to get a top defenseman because all the top teams are looking for them…I guess it’s like pitching it baseball, you never have enough.

      • avatar Doug F. says:

ALso, I would trade Okpuso/Grabner or Nino, Strome and a #1 for Ryan because he is from the east coast,he would probably come to LI, has 4 more years on his contract, would put “fannies” in seats and is the power forward we would be looking for JT…

  20. avatar Blizzard says:

we are going to build slow and methodically through the draft. Its gonna take a decade. Thats why they fired chief scout (Janks) and director of player development(Trots)

  21. avatar Claude says:

Does anyone have a ETA on the hammer? Heard nothing out of Islander camp.

  22. avatar Orange&Blue says:

Get better soon, Dylan. Now to more important news. The Chicago Blackhawks are having an awful roadtrip and goaltending has a lot to do with it. If our famous GM was to get the best possible offer Nabby, now would be the time. The Hawks are desperate and loaded with young talent. Hope Garth is awake!

  23. avatar giz says:

Fucking Rolston is back in the lineup….what a joke.

  24. avatar Nick M says:

“Yeah, we have a lot of belief in that locker room,” Snow told ESPN.com Wednesday. “Within the last few weeks, we’ve really turned it up a notch as a team … We have no intention of moving Evgeni. He’s been great for us. His performance speaks for itself.”

Maybe there is hope? Garth making a trade as a buyer? I wish

  25. avatar Fire Snow says:

Unless we are dealing Poulin we are NOT getting anything worth writing about in return. I would argue that Montoya might get you as much as Nabokov and in either case it wont be much. These are NOT the only AHL/NHL goalies out there. If im going for a cup neither of these guys excites me at all. Get some toughness!!!

  26. avatar scott says:

Here at the game…I am sooooo sick of watching my team get pushed around. Now no marting. I am sure no callup to replace the sparkplug type player. Pathetic,u wanna c heart he just came back on the ice. I don’t give a damb who doesn’t think so. Konopka haily gillies. Would have brought energy and excitment. It is soooo obvious this team and horribly silent crowd needs

  27. avatar Blackwasser says:

What a win against top goalie in the league. The points are coming, slow, but they are scraping away. Montreal points hurt, but this was a big 2 points.
